I'd assume, based on the nature of primus music, that that sentiment is not held by primus. The notice and instructions posted by Primus for the audition request states that they want someone who can groove, respond to whatever the band wants to do in a live or recording session, and improvise. I for one would much rather listen to musicians who play living music. If you want everything to sound the same every time, use a drum machine. Musicians are artists, not machines. Also, as the title of the video implies, I'm not interested in auditioning, though I have a great love and respect for everyone in Primus.
@riggzwade5673 what's ironic about your statement, is that not even @timherbalexander plays it exactly the same every time. I have a drum feature video he put out years ago and have seen him live, and he improvises quite a bit. I'm glad he improvises! The music is much more meaningful and makes you excited to see them live to see and feel whatever he's going to do in the moment.
Nice!
that really clean bro good work love the fact that you are adding your own spice on this song !
Appreciate that
Very clever floor tom use. 👍🏼 good stuff man
Thank you!
Lovin' the tom substitutions.
Yeah, I have a double pedal packed away and haven't used it for quite some time. This is one tune where you can easily get away with it.
Good drumming. But, Bands don’t like when you change the parts. Fans don’t either.
That’s an opinion sir.
I disagree, never heard any complaints about Brain or Jay playing it their own way
