    One of the greatest talents to ever play the game.

      @David Clinging I don't think you understand rugby. A knock on only happens if the ball hits the ground. He juggled it in the air and caught it. Yeah your right it's a fairly straightforward skill to control a chipped oval ball running at pace with your foot hitting it back into your bodie. Sure that happens all the time.

      David Clinging what clip u watching pal? There was no knock on

    • @robertpirsig5011
      @robertpirsig5011 4 года назад +4

      @David Clinging Jesus man. It is completely different to soccer. First the chip is arriving flat down on top of him. It's no accident he hits it at the exact side of the ball to control it. By the way using Maradona as an example of someone making something look easy doesn't really help your argument. Both players were one of their respective sports greatest players.

    We have a lot to thank our native Gaelic games for in Ireland - ball skills that are deeply engrained in all of us that come in very handy in other codes like rugby too

    My favorite part of this clip is watching Tuilagi in the foreground. He drifts back and in as the ball is chipped and then just stops as BOD settles it. He knows what he just witnessed is pure magic and there’s nothing he could do to stop it!

      @Ben Uttley I'm certainly no "Rugby officianado"but I can remember him Capt England(I think he preceded Bill Beaumont or visa versa?)But he was great leader,in a difficult time and conducted himself with dignity!.And I still hear the voice of the Legendary great Bill McClaren saying his name!!

    Being Welsh and in Australia in 2013 was great it really shut the cockyness out of the Aussies. Loved it especially with their posters of a Wallaby rooting a lion with slogan rooting for the Wallabys and they lost lol.

      Which was the correct call as you could see he was off the pace. Great talent but time catches up with us all. Also Welsh pairing at centres would be beneficial.

    • @robertpirsig5011
      @robertpirsig5011 4 года назад +8

      Davies is a top class centre. But O'Driscoll is one of the greatest players of all time and is probably the greatest centre ever to have played the game. Davies not on his level.

    • @davidjones272

      @@robertpirsig5011 in 2013 Davies was a better player than o driscoll. O driscoll had lost his pace by that point and about to retire, Davies was coming into his prime.

    They could never try pauses like that in game
    Because they only really kick the ball in union
    All this fuss over a quite ordinary pass in rugby league

    Lost the lions the second test against Australia,should have retired earlier.

    • @robertpirsig5011
      @robertpirsig5011 4 года назад +11

      You attribute the second test loss to O'Driscoll? How? Yeah he should have retired mate even though he won the 6 nations with Ireland the following season. Take your head out your arse. Stupid comment.

    • @nathanwilliams5126
      @nathanwilliams5126 4 года назад +2

      @@robertpirsig5011 To be fair, you could see he was off the pace in the second test and hence why he was dropped for the third. Doesn't take away from being a great player but time catches up with us all.

      @robertpirsig5011 4 года назад +9

      @@nathanwilliams5126 I'm not saying his performances on the 2013 lions tour were his best moments. But the OP suggested that he should have retired prior to this despite winning the 6 nations the following season and being one of the top try scorers in that championship. Ridiculous comment. That lions tour was a joke anyway. Australia were fuckin shite compared to australian teams of old.
