This was not a great wallaby team, they got smoked by new zealand and south africa that year. The lions shouldve won the series 3-0. Gatland underperformed with the Lions.
This was such a great Wallabies side. AAC, Beale, Genia, O’Connor, Mitchell (back from Toulon for WC), Hodge, Folau, Gits (same as Mitchell). Chalk and cheese from the current crop, who regardless of age just seem like schoolboys in comparison.
that penalty leading to the first Wallaby try should never have been given - the Wallaby player (Matt Dunning I think) totally sealed off the player on the ground and he was unable to present the ball.... in addition it looked like he entered from the side but perhaps the ruck was over as there was only Lions players in it...

Excellent tries. Bad day at the office with regards to kicking for penalties, though. How many penalties were missed ? I lost count.
