    My heart swells with pride whenever I watch BOD in action. He has done more to lift the spirit of the Irish people than any of the Irish political scumbags in the Dail.

      It’s a game of attrition now. I didn’t get in to rugby until my twenties and I can’t always see the difference in styles. But this here is night and day to what we’ve been doing of late.

    slow the speed down to 0.25 and @ 28 seconds with the 50-metre line providing a reference point, the pass is clearly forward. the linesman is right on the spot, perhaps he's an ambassador for Specsavers

    The most impressive thing about this try is that Kearney managed to do an offload despite his instinct to never do that.

      Ireland lost that game in 2008.
      Since then Ireland have beaten the All Blacks in Chicago, in Dublin and in New Zealand.
      And, Ireland have won grand slams in 2018 and 2023.
      Isn't it great that "it's a bloody long time since we played rugby like that"?

      Great player but was always down injured and lost his speed long before his career ended. His kicking out of hand was fairly dodgy too.
      Definitely one of the best 13s to ever do it though.

      I suppose any move that starts at your own try line and ends up in you scoring needs consideration. BOD's involvement wouldn't make it try of the yea, it must have been for the whole move.

    Remember having scrum halves with swift, powerful passing like Reddan, Stringer and O’Leary. Murray could never have made that pass.

      Harsh indeed 😅 Reddan did well to sweep it without taking a step, Wallace was standing ridiculously wide. Sort of thing you'd only get away with on a line break

    Bowe should have made that easy for BOD. Pass was way too early. I think he expected the last tackle on him to stick and couldn't get it out of his head to pass at that moment.

    Yep comments are correct chaser was in front of kicker so player should have stopped there penalty to aus . Then offload pass forward. Refs do not seem to call this theses days. Lots of forward passes these days. League also.

    "O'Driscoll wins Try of the Year"????? IS THAT IT!!!!!! He takes a basic pass approx 10 metres from the try line, with his opponent BEHIND him, after a half dozen players do all the work .... but this is the TRY OF THE YEAR?!?! By WHO'S standards? I've seen better tries scored at Club Rugby games down the road.

      Yeah, you're bloody right ... well offside. Problem was, the Ref had his back to Leamy, so he didn't see the offside. And the touch judge wasn't level with the kicker so he didn't have a good angle to view the offside player. Typical.
      Either way, still an AVERAGE try. Try of the Year? ... No way.

    Fijians run 80 meters bump off 3 defenders and side step 2 and can’t make the list😂😂

    PLAIN AND SIMPLE "FORWARD PASS" . Ref should have called it, maybe he was at a wrong angle. If this was legal we would see it all over ..... nothing hard or special in the level of skill needed in doing it, just illegal and therefore NOT DOABLE.
