My heart swells with pride whenever I watch BOD in action. He has done more to lift the spirit of the Irish people than any of the Irish political scumbags in the Dail.
@@BigShambo not one comment has anything to do with Joe ... Joe has retired two years now ... Eddie O Sullivan was the manager at this time in video .. 2008
It’s a game of attrition now. I didn’t get in to rugby until my twenties and I can’t always see the difference in styles. But this here is night and day to what we’ve been doing of late.
slow the speed down to 0.25 and @ 28 seconds with the 50-metre line providing a reference point, the pass is clearly forward. the linesman is right on the spot, perhaps he's an ambassador for Specsavers
No rugby union sides in S-O-T unfortunately!! We deserve one though. I'm surprised stoke FC haven't set one up. The community in stoke would support a decent Union side
Ireland lost that game in 2008. Since then Ireland have beaten the All Blacks in Chicago, in Dublin and in New Zealand. And, Ireland have won grand slams in 2018 and 2023. Isn't it great that "it's a bloody long time since we played rugby like that"?
Great player but was always down injured and lost his speed long before his career ended. His kicking out of hand was fairly dodgy too. Definitely one of the best 13s to ever do it though.
I suppose any move that starts at your own try line and ends up in you scoring needs consideration. BOD's involvement wouldn't make it try of the yea, it must have been for the whole move.
Harsh indeed 😅 Reddan did well to sweep it without taking a step, Wallace was standing ridiculously wide. Sort of thing you'd only get away with on a line break
Bowe should have made that easy for BOD. Pass was way too early. I think he expected the last tackle on him to stick and couldn't get it out of his head to pass at that moment.
Nah, he wasn't. Great player and all but was always down injured and lost his speed long before his career ended. His kicking out of hand was fairly dodgy too. Definitely one of the best 13s to ever do it though.
Yep comments are correct chaser was in front of kicker so player should have stopped there penalty to aus . Then offload pass forward. Refs do not seem to call this theses days. Lots of forward passes these days. League also.
"O'Driscoll wins Try of the Year"????? IS THAT IT!!!!!! He takes a basic pass approx 10 metres from the try line, with his opponent BEHIND him, after a half dozen players do all the work .... but this is the TRY OF THE YEAR?!?! By WHO'S standards? I've seen better tries scored at Club Rugby games down the road.
Brian Bizzle Agreed, but in 2014, you can expect they'll go upstairs to check that if the assistant (touchie) who has the ref's back has anything to say...
Yeah, you're bloody right ... well offside. Problem was, the Ref had his back to Leamy, so he didn't see the offside. And the touch judge wasn't level with the kicker so he didn't have a good angle to view the offside player. Typical. Either way, still an AVERAGE try. Try of the Year? ... No way.
PLAIN AND SIMPLE "FORWARD PASS" . Ref should have called it, maybe he was at a wrong angle. If this was legal we would see it all over ..... nothing hard or special in the level of skill needed in doing it, just illegal and therefore NOT DOABLE.
"Brian O'Driscoll wins..." That's a team try if ever I've seen one!
1:37 Giteau trying to pull O'Driscoll back without the ball...
Leamy was a serious player.
Coached my local rugby club in Clonmel after his career, huge man
And Peter Wallace too, their back row was stellar...
Leamy was a massive loss
@@Dia_FW Peter Wallace?? I think you mean David Wallace.
My heart swells with pride whenever I watch BOD in action. He has done more to lift the spirit of the Irish people than any of the Irish political scumbags in the Dail.
An Irish offload .... forgetting what that looks like lately ...
A box kick without a caterpillar ruck
Holy Smokes.....I forget that we used to play rugby like this...
Lads, agree for the most part, but lets have a bit of balance and not forget all that we achieved in the Joe Schmidt era

Bowe could have finished that
Never worth taking the risk, especially as he would go over in the corner and make the conversion harder.
Would have been a very silly risk to take
how the eff was that try of the year? lol
Aussie 10 even tries to take BOD out before he gets passed the ball at 1:37
Good spot
An enduring Rugby Union superstar .
Back when Kearney passed the ball.
Yeah, I didn't know he could.
Shame it was a forward pass
Flannery, one of the most underrated players ever
Best (excuse the pun) hooker we've had since Keith Wood I'd say.
@@fuzzylogiceire definitely.
This try was as good as Mark Robson's commentary is annoying. It was very, very good indeed.

The most impressive thing about this try is that Kearney managed to do an offload despite his instinct to never do that.
But could he have done it on a rainy night in stoke....?
no,he would have scored a bicycle from 36 yards
No rugby union sides in S-O-T unfortunately!! We deserve one though. I'm surprised stoke FC haven't set one up. The community in stoke would support a decent Union side
He could of done it anywhere 😀
Yes. He’s used to rain. It way more rainy in ireland than England...
huh? what are you talking about?
Rip Dennis what a catch 😢
He's not dead

No worries you might be thinking of Anthony Foley
None of those passes were forward
Drum8888 you obviously don't know the rules of rugby then

The highlight of this clip: Rob Kearney actually passes the ball!!!

I'm confused how is this anything. I was expecting individual try
In two phases they went from 10 m from their try lane to scoring and you are confused how this is anything?
O'Driscoll -made Ireland jump around that night with House of Pain Irish-American Hip Hop Group
EXELENTE tema.

Seriously is that the try of the year?

It was pretty good started from the other end even though there was a kick in there.
Team try of the year
Against 🦁 he scored best try ever
It should be Ireland won try of the year not o dricoll
Remember having scrum halves with swift, powerful passing like Reddan, Stringer and O’Leary. Murray could never have made that pass.
Very harsh
Harsh indeed 😅 Reddan did well to sweep it without taking a step, Wallace was standing ridiculously wide. Sort of thing you'd only get away with on a line break

0:27 forward pass by a good yard

It’s easy, from behind a keyboard, to make stupid pronouncements like that. Brian scored. End of story.
@@georgepatterson3428 he scored because he was a genius and he got battered, when it could have been a simple run in.
Bowe would have scored
All Brian o Driscoll did was run 10 meters and touch it down

You should tell World Rugby then Geoff.
A lot of salty england and Australia fans
Not only not try of the year but also NO TRY. The whole play hinges on Denis Leamy being feet offside for the box kick
Tolly Rose But the ref didn't call it so it is actually a try and still try of the year. Don't you know the rules?

wish we still played rugby like this....nowadays its awful
Its good but not try of the year surely?
OMG he ran a whole 8 meters and slid 2 more for try of the year.
Fijians run 80 meters bump off 3 defenders and side step 2 and can’t make the list😂😂

It was ok but certainly not try of the year .and he just fell over the line at the end ..
Nonu and Muliaina scored tries better than this that year - I guess World Rugby needed white people names at the time haha
Good team try for sure. But not the best. I always thought of Brian as a very good player but slightly overrated.
Wtf is that. Looks more like a stupid goal
