🍁 Lets paint some Fall leaves! 🍁 I did most of this small study using the pigments from my previous video where I covered my favourite Fall-Inspired watercors :) Enjoy!
⚡️I was simply mesmerized watching you paint this! I actually slowed down the playback speed so I could savor the beauty as it unfolded 🤗. Autumn is my favorite season and the stunning beauty of the leaves as they change colors is the main reason I love fall soo much. You have managed to capture/express that beauty in this piece! What an incredible and amazing talent you have!! Thank you very much for sharing your gift! 💖🙏🏽✨🍁
enjoying watching you paint also like the background music i would like to paint like youlove all your paintings plz give name of the music love your art
I love the background on this one. Watching the color spread and blend on the autumn leaves makes me think, this is what watercolor was made for. Very nice.
Thank you Jim 😊 one of those earlier videos again when I didn’t have the equipment or skills to record in full and I appreciate your comment! We only get about 2 warm months here in Toronto so I am not ready to think about the Fall just yet 💕💕💕💕
¡Fabuloso! I enjoy the transparency layering and of course it makes one a detaillist in a positive sense and there is nothing wrong with that. It is making full use of the potential of watercolor to be even able look realistic and have that certain element that oil painting takes on depending on how one layers. Of course it requires more patience and time but with practice it gets as fast as the paint dries and one’s schedule. These are the wc paintings that hold their value and although enjoyable sometimes are not appreciated monetarily. If one is displaying this form or style of art it can be of value to have a break down of a smaller painting in steps to show the layering verses a quick a la prima watercolor. The comparison of compositional layered technique to one or two layers is night and day and for artists who support themselves with their paint brush the general public needs to understand the value. We aren’t dealing with “sketches” for oil paintings but works of art on their own that are archival and worth the price. I felt compelled to bring this up because literally a month or more can be spent on a large scale composition and I have had people try to lower their value. I really enjoy your videos Anna and when I physically can not paint I enjoy rewatching your videos. I wish that it would be possible for me to be a patron but I can not financially but try to speak up on behalf of watercolorists for this reason. I hope to build up my supply and find ones that appreciate the love, patience and talent that go into them. Thank you for showing advanced techniques!❤
Hehe I think it’s fall and RUclips algorithm is digging out my old videos featuring fall subjects …. I am glad to hear you enjoyed it since my video equipment was a lot more basic at the time 💜
I hesitate painting just leaves. You showed me it can be a real painting. I love using Indrathone Blue or Anthraquinone Blue for shadowing. It makes the shadows glow.

There's one major problem with your painting that makes it unrealistic.....It's called Painting FALL Leaves! Where are the leaves that have fallen? There are none on the ground!
Certainly a camera can capture the dirt on the ground. The impression of the ground was very visible. Painting can improve on what the artist wants to remember from a moment or enhance the beauty of the light and shadows of a photo in certain subjects. Some tasks of painting beautiful mountains just might be to make the sky to look dramatic but photography is an Art also painting is an Art and music. They are impressions of a singular moment in time that really neither a camera nor our hands capture perfectly. Just like music, who could truly imitate the beautiful singing of birds, the impressive ability of the humpback whales to learn completely new songs every year that resonate through hundreds of miles of the depth of the ocean? Scientists have yet to learn who composes them but they learn them phrase by phrase rather quite like us. Truly we make our best attempts to imitate what was done by one far greater in knowledge and takes pleasure in beauty and the Arts. To hear a great orchestra is a privilege, to understand what each musician goes through is similar in many ways to a painter who is the soloist who also plays the main part of the music alone and feels that vulnerability because we can’t hide behind the rest. Art is subjective to a degree just as music. Anna has a gift of improvisation. Most decent artists can copy a photo but finding what brings them joy is brought to the fore and other non essentials are dropped. 😊
Thank you Anees - I’d love to see your work - what is your Insta handle? Sorry if I missed your post (I’ve been getting so many tags lately that it’s hard to keep up but I would hate to miss yours - please send me a link so I can take a look) ❤️😊

Beautiful! I love the way you paint the light. Would you mind sharing how long this painting took in real time? I'm new to watercolor..
Thank you Peggy 💜 It was about 2.5 of “pure” painting time but actually took 3 days because I left it to dry in between layers😊
Beautiful
Thank you!

What brush do you use?
Could you paint a bunny? My daughter wants to learn. Bunny is her favorite animal.
Of course! 😊 I’ll add this to my list - just need to find a good reference photo ❤️
