That's what I love about her. Knowing the why's helps use that technique on other projects consciously, knowing the how's, while also extremely helpful, help with that particular subject only unless you're already familiar with the why's. And in my opinion, with watercolors, it's extremely important to know the why's as well as the how's to create what you want. Anna shows a delightful mix of both.
I have no words, incredible painting! It’s amazing how you’re pulling out this blurred background leaves and grapes from ref photo and they are sharp on the painting but still it’s clear they are in the background
thank you so much Jo! 💚🍇💚🍇💚 I've been promising these grapes for a while and finally finished it. I am so happy it got a good response, but I think for next week I will do something less intense hehe:)
Hi, Anna! I just want to say how much I appreciate your channel. You've helped me so much with confidence, understanding the techniques, how to apply them and timing - which is tough in the beginning. The insight into your mind is invaluable paired with your soothing voice - I just can't say thank you enough 😊
Okay wow on your explaining how the breakdown of grapes and the choices of colors used for the right results. As a self taught beginner, I haven’t really done this with my paintings. I really should. I see how it actually works & makes a huge difference. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Hi Anna, thank you for your wonderful grape tutorial, I've watched it several times and each time it takes my breath away, your use of colour is magical, I've no words that would be adequate, you're art is truly heavenly. X
Thank you for this video tutorial, it is an excellent help for those of us who want to learn to paint in watercolor and have failed many times, thanks again
I am so glad you've touched on this composition and reference again. The first video was great and it inspired me to try it but then I chickened out. LOL! This helps me tremendously.
Thank you so much - It takes me a while to follow up on requests here, but I read every comment, and make a plan for the year based on what you guys are interested in seeing. I just wish I could work faster lol but editing takes forever! I will do a lotus flower next week I think. Something a bit more simple. Have a great week!
Thank you for the detailed explanation accompanying your beautiful amazing art, such as which colors, layers and why you are using them. Your painting is so more beautiful compared to the reference!!!
This is such a great breakdown of how to visualize a piece you're creating. The colors are simply gorgeous!! Very beautiful work! On top of that I just LOVE how you respond to pretty much every single person!!! That's very uncommon in itself but on top of that you ALWAYS give such thoughtful and meaningful responses like you're conversing with a friend. It's truly incredible to see!!! And SOOO rare! I absolutely hope and wish (and know) you will be generously rewarded for the thought and care you put into making sure others are heard and appreciated. Along with all the helpful content you are providing all of us for free. Sending many blessings your way!💞✨
Thank you so much for your comment Vlad - really made my day! 😊 I try my best to respond to everyone as I distinctly remember the time (about 10 years ago) when my favourite illustrator Kerby Rosanes responded to a brief email from me asking about a career in illustration. This was before I had any followers or big name clients (or real skills:) and it really blew me away and gave me confidence to pursue art as a career. There is so much talent (I see some absolute gems among my PATREON students) and I know all it takes is a bit of encouragement and inspiration (which is why I do these videos in the first place). I’ve been in virtual lockdown with my kids since early 2020 and this channel has given me a way to have a meaningful connection with the world. I just wish I had more time to dedicate to it (hopefully when the pandemic is over I will). Again thank you for watching and taking the time to write. Have a great day! 💕
@@AnnaBucciarelli Ohhh I'm so glad it did! 😁 Well that's just amazing, the story and how a decade later you're still paying it forward! That level of care is what I admire most about what you're doing and it definitely shows in your videos, responses, and the amount of replies. Again it's just SO rare to see with content creators especially as they grow bigger and bigger. It's amazing to think how many people you are helping in part because of her one response. Uh the power of spreading good 😇. I completely agree, and unfortunately people don't always have someone in their lives to provide them with that encouragement and know how to go after what they want. Well your connection certainty is meaningful thats for sure. Thanks you too! 😊
Thank you so much Nathan! It took a while but I hear so many comments about wanting more grapes (who knew grapes were so popular lol? Now i want to do red ones:)))

I will join your Patreon channel and follow along to learn even more. Thank you for your generosity in sharing your experience.
How can this painting be better than the actual photograph (which is amazing)? Your paintings are so ethereal. I noticed you wear some kind of hand brace. I suppose painting such majestic paintings puts quite a stress on your body. Truly appreciate the patience, hard work, and craft you obviously possess. I can’t wait to sign up for one of your classes. Please tell me you have online tutorials other than what is posted here on you tube.
Thank you Kathy! There are so many 🍇 tyoes from blue to coral - and love painting them all ❤️ it’s really one of the most enjoyable subjects to paint with transparent pigments due to that wonderful glow 😊 Enjoy!
Definitely going to give this a shot. I used Arches 100% cold pressed and it dries out in minutes, absolutely no way it would stay wet for however long that background took you! Frustrating as everyone says it stays wet for ages, no idea what I'm doing wrong!
Sorry to hear about your Arches experience - you can try adding a medium to you water - I use QOR ox gall for larger washes to extend drying time. Use a spray bottle to re-wet. Also - do check your supplier - may just be a defective batch or a fake (I never buy paper off Amazon - always from a reputable art store). Hope this helps! 💜

Hi there, I thoroughly enjoyed this painting tutorial, I am a complete amateur and am only just starting out trying to learn how to use watercolors - i found your video insightful, detailed, very methodical and helpful. However I don't have access to these paints, am using a very basic set of Reeves watercolor tube paints. Can you guide me on the appropriate colors to use/colors to create so as to attempt this painitng?
I commented on your previous video about your coin designs but I think it would be awesome to see like a painting progress of your work from when you started until now! Your work is so beautiful. I hope to learn more from you, I'm just a newbie starting my journey.

Just beautiful. I am an absolute beginner and struggling. Im wondering if you have any normal time videos where you explain how you blend/soften your colours on the paper ??? It looks like you paint on the colour, then wipe over the edge with a very wet brush. I tried it, but of course it didnt work.
This video by Emily Artful is quite helpful to learn that technique if you haven't already: ruclips.net/video/1ttOyncnv4g/видео.html At least, this is where I learnt the technique from.
how are you able to blend your colors all the same? Because when I introduce a new color when its wet on wet, one of the color always dries differently than the others? My colors bloom when they dry. Any tips on how to avoid blooming? Thank you.
I am confused. Some people say things on top should be painted using cool colors because they reflect the blue of the sky. Some say you have to use warm colors because they receive the most sunlight.
У вас такая прекрасная прозрачная и яркая акварель! У меня так не получается. В погони за яркостью я перегружаю работу и она становится сильно темнее, чем хотелось бы. Не получается сохранить нежность и воздушность с такой яркостью цвета.
I'm really struggling with my paintings looking dull, and have tiny white spots in my washes. I don't know if it's not enough paint or water, but when I add more paint it then dries very dull. I use arches cold pressed and hot pressed , fabriano artisco, and bockingford rough. All the paints I use are artist quality, Winsor and Newton, Qor and Daniel smith. Does anyone have any tips for this??? What am I doing wrong lol??!!!
Have u tried using the wet on wet technique instead? It always helps to make the painting pop and give more depth. I've tried that and really loved how it turned out. Maybe u can try adding a darker shade of paint while it's still wet, I love the effect it gives. Watercolour is very tricky sometimes cause u have to make sure it doesn't dry too fast otherwise the wet on wet technique won't work. But also it's best not to add too much water and after u add water to the brush u can dab on a paper towel to get rid of excess water. I've made that mistake where I added too much water by accident several times since I'm still learning as well. Hope this helped! Been painting for months and I have fallen in love with this medium
Ashley....Parka Blogs did a very good blog post about this. Perhaps your sizing has gone bad from humidity or by how long your paper may have been sitting on a shelf before you used it? Not sure in your case but thought this might be helpful to you. Also they say it doesn't matter which side of the paper you paint on but some do say it matters. Here is a link for you. Hope this helps...www.parkablogs.com/picture/watercolour-paper-can-deteriorate-time
Hmmm... Ashley, this stumped me because paper is usually #1 issue. You seem to be using the right paper. Although I would say that cold pressed is trickier as it dries out too fast and dull sometimes... The paints should be fine too. So I would agree with comments below. Something must be in the water... But also - try doing a simple wash wet on wet - from a very saturated one o watered down - do you get a nice smooth transition from intense color (almost no water at all) to watered down? Another thing to consider is specific pigments you are using. Granulating and non staining pigments will for suree give you a dull blothchy look at times. Are you using something like Primatek from Daniel Smith? that can be an issue. Generally, if you use Quinacridone or Phthalo pigments from the brands you've mentioned on the paper you;ve mentioned it should be super vibrant. DM me on instagram @annam.m.bucciarelli and show me what it looks like. I will try to help you :)
Thank you everyone for taking the time to reply!! I'm I'm not sure of the shelf life of them paper, but it's new to me lol!! I never even thought of the water being an issue. Anna- I will send a a close up picture to you. Again-thank you all!!! 😊
