If you're having trouble installing the plug-in, try these 2 things:
    1. Watch my video on how to install VST/AU plug-ins manually here: ruclips.net/video/1pOMkZMMUw8/видео.html
    2. Restart your computer. Often the plug-in won't show up until after a restart.

Thanks for another great video. I'm on Catalina and after download + restart I got an error message from LPX saying it wouldn't install the plug-in as it could not authenticate the developer, and so cannot verify it free from Malware. I went to the LPX Plug-in Manager, selected the plug-in and hit the Reset and Re-scan button and hit "Open". I also had System Preferences | Security & Privacy open (General Tab) and the app popped up with an option to allow it despite not being validated. I hit the allow button and made sure the "use" box was checked in LPX Plug-in Manager. I then re-started my iMac and the plug-in was successfully installed and appears under "Audio Units" within Audio Effects.

This was an excellent lesson. One thing I'd add to it: One of the ways you can use this is to lay down those harmonic tracks (either as separate tracks or as bus sends) and then use that to get your vocalist (same or another) to sing along. In other words, this is a great tool for getting a vocalist to perform the harmony you want them to. The result will be more natural sounding, and of course, you will be able to use variation wherever you like - attack, dynamics, tone, etc.

Even if it sounds "too" mechanical, you can insert in a session, where the artist is having difficulty finding the right harmonies, and have the artist copy what the plug-in is doing! I'm old school, a SANGER and one whom has not only sang my own background recordings stacked anywhere from 10 to 24 tracks, as I've always believed more is better and dissect best from least needed later in the mix, but, also singing for others, arranging and selecting harmonies for songs BGs, I guess this is beneficial and definitely more optional for time restraint, efficiency and for those with those random spontaneous vocal harmony ideas, and maybe being an engineer or a producer mixing a song whom doesn't know how to sing, plus, the vocalist isn't available...
Oh, yea, AND IT'S FREE, TOO!!!??? Shoot! Get it!!!

I think that's the intent for the plugin. It's a way for you to get ideas or so you can hear an approximation of what you want to do before going through all the effort and finalizing everything else.
Even I was not expecting it to sound this bad. It's very robotic. Might actually be a cool effect in EDM tho.

Pitch proof is an amazing " diatonic " pitch shifter / harmonizer... I've used it for a few years on guitar ! Put it before your distortion and set the shift you want based on key and play..It's that simple.. You can also automate it within your DAW to cycle through as many different keys and intervals as you need within just one instance.. I actually find it hard to believe that it's FREE but it is !

🍀A very good tutorial. One notices or rather I can hear that musically and in terms of arrangement you are beyond the basic amateur status, congratulations. The "Pitchproof" plugin is really highly recommended. I just found out that there is a Pro version of this too. I forgot the exact name for it at the moment.
Just a few days ago I was able to download the "Waves Harmony Engine" at a great price. I haven't dealt with the program much yet, but the result in terms of creating harmony is certainly at least the same, apart from the fact that "Harmony Engine" provides even more extensive experimental options (which you can use but don't necessarily have to 😉). Despite everything, I'll deal more consistently with "pitchproof" first 👍

I've tried them all, the hardware ones too. Altarboy is the most usable for me and has the least problems. Sure it has artifacts but similar to guitar audio to midi conversion the techs haven't been able to develop a quality pitch shifting algorithm for vocals.

I'm still having issues with the installation. I have download the AU (.component) moved it to the component folder and nothing. I tried restarting the computer too. Where is it? Under audio units?? Any help will be appreciated.

Sounds like a quick and easy way to "compose" a harmony line, which you should then simply learn and sing. Formants, autotune, none of these computer algorithms fixed the "creepy android" sound.

Great to create harmony guide tracks for singers. Does this work with GarageBand?

Hi! Thanks for sharing. I'm considering getting the Antares Harmony Engine, but I see pitchproof harmonizer is free. Are there advantages to the harmony engine that make it worth the extra money in your opinion?

Good luck getting pitch proof to work nowadays on a modern computer. They cut support for it, so I’ve seen a lot people saying they can’t get it to install.

@@MusicTechHelpGuy Thanks for the heads up. I gave it a try and with no success. It seems the harmony engine is the smartest choice.
