@charlesCleyn do you know how i can send, from my session, click to the drummer? We play with all my session so i want send click to another output. I cannot separate this. Thanks a lot!
Just to show you how addicted to Charles' prior 100 Logic Tips I am, I bookmarked it and was even watching it this morning. So, here we go, even more. Today I set aside the entire day to not write music, but to learn more about Logic so I CAN write more music, faster. I watched one video this morning on using the Marquee tool, and here are #23-29; the answer to my problem and learning curve right on time! Great stuff, Charles. I will spend most of my day watching these and taking notes.
I’ve been watching your videos here and there for what feels like a decade. I’ve always thought you have an exceptional sense of what people want to see and hear. Congratulations
Been making music / using logic pro since roughly 2015 ( currently on 10.8.1). This video has been one of the most helpful, in-depth logic tutorials video I've came across on RUclips. Appreciate you so much for your time, making videos like this for producers, artist, and creatives who need it. This is definitely more of an intermediate or advanced video going through the D.A.W, but even after almost using it for 10 years, I still have learned a lot of things in this video I didn't know about the D.A.W. Keep up the great videos Charles!
thank you so much for doing this! My favorite is #51 tap to find your tempo. I always have things moving in my head and being able to tap it out to find the tempo is really helpful to start a project.
Great video! Some points: - organizing your 3rd party plugins doesn't have to be done by putting the dash before the name of the folder. Just drag it in the order you want it in plugin manager. - 32bit is floating point and doesn't support processing in time and pitch machine. - duplicate track with midi data included can be done with Command+duplicate button. That will also include automation.
What a great list of tips! I've been using ProTools for two decades and a half decades and am now making the transition to Logic. This is invaluable for me. Your presentation style, as well as the pace at which you move through the information, is absolutely perfect. I'll be checking out your other 100 tips video when I'm done with this one. Thank you very much
Great video. 25 years of Logic experience and still learned a few new ones, thanks! Re Stereo Panning: it not only lets you pan stereo signals in a different/better way compared to Balance Pan, but can also be used to narrow down stereo width per stereo track - with or without additional panning. Having (too) many stereo tracks all taking up the entire width of the stereo spectrum can cause clutter and is often not necessary. This is a great way to place and space your tracks in the mix.
This is brilliant. There is so much to learn about efficient use of Logic Pro. I will be poking around at all the sections that apply to my intended use and keep this bookmarked as a reference I anticipate returning to again and again. Favourite tip - #56 about use of the pedal that I have just ordered from Amazon😊
I liked #68 - step sequencer pentatonic scale, I didn't know that was in the program. A lot of the tips were very helpful. I actually stopped the video a few times to do some of the steps on my Logic Pro. Keep up the good work. I think this was even more in-depth than the first one when I started learning Logic.
I'm hoping to get Logic Pro in the next couple months and will DEFINITELY be coming back to this video. Thanks for the time and effort you put into this! 🙏
Hello I’ve been following you for a while I’m currently in college for music production I’m struggling however it is my passion I find your videos very helpful
Dang bro... giving the keys to the kingdom on this one!! I legit did not know about A/B comps LOL so good. Love that even with using Logic every day for like... over a decade - still learning new things. Well done!
Always love your tips and tutorials! I've learned so much already, still lots more to learn though. You're my go-to channel when I need help-always helpful and easy to understand and follow along. Thanks!
#49 add photos to notes was something I didn't know I could do which is so useful! I don't have analog synths, but I do have an untreated room with a big space. I'm currently trying to figure out a good way to document where sounds best when recording vocals - not only where in the room the mic should be, but also the direction it should face. Something I did with your last video on this that was super-useful (and which I will be doing with this as well), is set up a timer for ten minutes a day with a notebook and pen, and then write down the tips and key commands that are most applicable to my needs. Then I'll immediately try and replicate those suggestions to make sure I get it. When the timer dings, I stop -- even if I don't want to -- because this helps me keep coming back to it daily until I'm finished because I didn't quit when I got bored or lost interest. (Hopefully this tip might help some others!) I sincerely appreciate the work you put into these -- you're an excellent teacher and communicator and I have great respect for that.
Yes you can't make a mono track become stereo by itself but there are ways around it. Logic has a great sample delay plug in that works great in making any mono track have a stereo hard panned sound. Works great on guitars
Thanks you SO much Charles, for all your time, hard work and generosity in providing us (once again) with these wonderful insights, tips and tricks. Such a great help to all of us. 🙂
And for the competition… I loved the marquee tips, it’s one of the most valuable tools of no THE most valuable tool in Logic I’d say. So thank you for the multiple tips.
Good video fella. Thanks for the effort as boy do I need it. My expert friends have all mentioned the marquee tool and now I see why. Had it for yrs but never got really stuck in. It's a different thing to what I remember. It now does literally everything. I'm 62 and I feel like I'm in my first day in school
The best way for me to work, I make templates, every track has the instruments I want to use and buses already set up, effects can change and the instruments can be interchangeable, and usually I have the master output set up the way I like it, and those master out parts can change to my liking when needed. Now I’m never starting from scratch.
Everything you posted is incredibly helpful whether you're a beginner or well seasoned. I don't have a favorite, I think they're all great from the simplest to the more complex
I started about 22 years ago with Emagic Logic platinum 5.5.1. I was very young, 26 years old. Today I have to admit that Logic has changed although in essence it is the same old melody. Today I continue with productions (small productions), I have a much faster computer than 20 years ago and I changed to Steinberg, Cu-Base. I'm glad I didn't fall prey to the audio industry. By the way, nice video. A little long... I couldn't finish watching it. Greetings from Hamburg, Germany.
Love your tutorial Charles and so helpful in so many areas. I liked the section or chapters 26-30 using the marquee tool. I like the way you can create an area you want to go over and over or to quickly isolate performing a number of functions. It's quite a powerful tool. I also enjoyed your tips on how to be creative by simply experimenting using the loops and drum section and trying a bunch of what if I do this...I found that to be most helpful with creating ideas I simply can't come up with on my own.
I purchased Tomas george logic pro udemy course, in some points i felt that course didn't motivate me to watch or learn logic pro. Then i found your video. this is a complete game changer for me. Thank you and best wishes for your projkts.
This is great! I learned so much from your last one I’ve been hoping for a round two! So far tip 8 is my favorite, but I’m excited for the other 92! One small heads up, the video chapters aren’t showing up (at least on mobile). Thanks as always for the quality content!
Helpful Tip for you as a singer. Work on your phrasing. It feels like it is either slightly behind or ahead of the groove. You have a good voice. You just need to be more in the pocket.
I've only seen when you play your demo but simply seeing the organization of your tracks so I'm ideally looking forward to eventually finishing it. Timestamps👍👍
Can’t wait to dive in on this. It usually takes me 2x as long to watch videos like that because I make note of the tips that I think I need to use. lol.
this is an excellent video for amateur and pro logic users. I found some great ideas that I could use in my workflow and ive been using logic since the eMagic days
I'm 1 minute in and I already liked the video just out of respect for all the hard work you put in to create this insanely informative video. Thank you !
Thanks for this, all very helpful!! :) 73 was useful to know, as a total newb to logic its handy to be able to save random stuff and also be able to change it in the future, that its not stuck as a audio file but can be midi. Cheers.
