Hey that’s my cousin! Keep killing it David!
Where from you
This video just helped every struggling mechanic become just a little bit greater🙏
What about a rolling off set?
Bien hecho y claramente explicado David. Saludos.
Awesome video it helped a lot please continue to make these videos god bless brother
Another awesome video my guy!!
Thank you David!!!! This made sense and soon it’ll make dollars 💸 thank you!!
Really excellent،i love theoretical and practical work
Most useful info in the weld world !!!
Simple and very well explained.
Thank you David 🙌🏾
Those cheat cards are clutch! Good video clear and to the point made it simple
Great video! 👏🏼
Well explained David.
Thanks dude, really informative
These guys have to b the best welders n the business! 👍👍
Hell yeah this is how you gonna learn step by step!
You rock, bro. Keep it up.
Great content bro. 👌
Thank u so much for 45 degre offset
Also without a book you can find take offs for 45 weld fittings by splitting it in half 4 times and then take the 2nd and 4th number add them to get take off..
6"
3"
1 1/2"
3/4"
= 3 3/4"...hope this helps new guys starting in the trade 90° fittings the take off is 1 1/2 × pipe diameter...great videos by the way always great seeing tradesmen helping out others
You can also multiply the pipe diameter by 5/8 or .625 to get a 45 takeoff
@@tylermcdaniel4895 awesome tip
So just ×1/4 tha b right
Im a first year appreciate and this is so confusing have a test coming up and am trying to find this stuff online but come up with people using calculators n I'm not the best at math
@@elmermerino5272 no problem I've been a pipefitter for over 20 yrs glad it helped
Well done brother 👍
Very informative
Also very grateful in plumbing...👍🏽
Thanks a ton 👍🏽
Well done sir
A lot easier than I thought
Very good job! I always liked the challenge when I was in the field or a fab shop. Have you done a video on a rolling offset? It's not difficult but some people have trouble with it. And the calculator is just another tool, used to always have one in my pocket. 😎👍
I agree what about the other 2 pipes ? Would he have to cut them down as well to the same pup length that is in between the two 45 degree ?
@@sloppyjonuts9162
Not necessarily. The travel piece/pup is always different than a vertical or horizontal travel piece on a 45° offset or any other degree. I had two books I used in the field for reference. If I remember right the "Blue Book" show's a diagram on how this is done because the pipe isn't always a true vertical or horizontal from each other.
Gracias amigo
Thank you
With the welding gaps subtracted, how would you know how much it will pull? Let's say you do have it tacked up per drawing specs. But AFTER welding, will the dimensions shrink and be within tolerance??
I love this video. Btw how can i get that hand book?
The trick i learned for takeoffs of 45* is half the size of the pipe 3 times, then add your 2nd and 4th numbers together. So a 6” 45* you go…
6
3
1 1/2
3/4
Then add 2nd and 4th, 3 + 3/4 = 3 3/4 take off. Works for everything up to 12” i think?
Pro tip. Use the first and third numbers for sweep fittings. Pipeline. You're welcome
Hillbilly method
@@brianlewis6614 if Jethro was a fittn
You got a video on how to take a long radius 90 and cutting it down to custom angles ?
Can you do a 2g .250 wall pipe with a 3/32” diameter 6010/6011 and then 3/32 7018 stringer fill and cap? Im running a 6011 on a miller multimatic 220 and cant quite get the amps right also I drag the rod so if you can sho that as well that would be more than helpfull
is the chico card for offset the same for socket weld fittings? or just standard buttweld fittings
Hello! Where can I find the book you showed at the beginning of the video?
First class.
Please make video on rolling offset.
awesome video.. 😁👍 alot easier than i thought it would be 😁👍 gotta get me some of them cards 😁👍
thank
What's the difference between pipelayer/pipeliners and pipefitters
Would like you to do a roll offset
Can you do one in which you do other angles for fittings,,such as you would have to cut a 90 to make it into a 70 degree elbow and then find the take off
Make the fitting 70 degrees and measure it lmao
half the degree and x the tanget of it x the radius+ diameter because in order to degree it has to be from a long radius 90
you can do it to find any take off
Hey man shouldn’t the take off be half of 3.75 since you are measuring to the middle of the elbow … ?
I know you say with Tig welding, you have to consider the gap, in the calculation, do you have to as well with stick welding?
Yes it is a much smaller gap but must be taken off
@@matthewrenton1423 thank you.
@@cirizawelding5076 thank you.
I'm rusty so is it the run thats center to center or I s that travel.
Can you do a Rolling offset?
Where do you get those cards from??
Can these technique be applied to electrical pipes?
Hey guys can u do a rolling offset
Keep direction of travel square on complex spools in position (can’t use a level)
is it just tig that we have to worry about the gap or even stick???
Can u use Pythagorean theorem and the use trigonometry to figure out the angel so sin or cos
That's funny.
Miguel rivers es muy semcillo utiliza el factor 14.14 si el lado A es de 1.00 y el lado B es de 1.00 la hipotenusa sera de 1.414 y se descuenta la mutad del codo a 45 x ambos lados
Don't screw these cats up..... Lmao
Como le haces para sacar los 33 13/16 ??
If I am doing pipefitting will I learn welding at all?
Donde puedo comprar la chico card??
Pipe size times 5/8 of an inch for your take off
Good my dear
Boss learn rolling ofset of 45 degre plz
question: I am having trouble wrapping my head around this concept. What if I have to find a travel for a 45-degree offset and my offset is like 3 feet 4 1/4 inches? The two measurements for one offset are throwing me off
Multiply times 1.414
Offset and the set are always the same for 45 s degree offsets , say if the offset is 9 ft 3 , the set is 9 ft3
It doesn’t matter what the other measurement is just multiply the offset by 1.414 and you get the travel
That’s the way the new so called pipefitters are learning !! Lol. RUclips fitters lol !!!
Thank you for the tutorial. Good job. You said you would have to include the gaps if you were TIG welding, I assume you would have to include the gaps to calculate for stick welding as well, no?
Yes the gap is much smaller when stick welding
@@cirizawelding5076 wow, thanks for the quick response but let me just get this clear. Do I need to calculate anything, or just ignore the Gap calculation ?
Thanks again for sharing your knowledge. Sorry I hadn't read down through the other comments yet.
You will need to subtract your welding gaps and fitting take off from you center to center measurements in the case of the video I took off (subtracted )3 3/4” for each 45 and 1/8 for each weld gap from my travel measurement
Do not take off for weld gaps when downhill stick welding. You should have a 1/16 gap at best when putting a downhill bead in and the pipe will draw up more than that trust me
Como eu faço para ter umas tabelas igual a de vcs
💯👍🏽
👍🏼👍🏼
90 degree take off, times the diameter of pipe by 1.5. (6inx1.5)=9 45 degree times diameter of pipe by .625 (6x.625=3.75) easiest way
What is the name of the intro song?
I'm just not cut out for this, never had the education man
For 7 years I removed, giged, cut, welded up pipes like this
Then put them back in the ship
Best job I ever had..but my body hated it
Welders are underrated I know because I am one
hello where can we find the maps or the blue book. thank you
Amazon has both 1. Pipe fitters blue book 2. Chico’s pipefitting cards
sir why have you not taken a and b
The blue book or the black “pipe fitter’s bible” are indispensable. And so is that fancy calculator….Great video!
Where did the 1.414 come from? Is that just part of the formula
It’s part of the formula it can be found in blue book and Chico cards
The 1.414 figure comes from a right triangle that has 2 - 45 degree angles and 1 - 90 degree angle. If you calculate the travel (a^2 + b^2 = c^2) you would end up with the square root of 2, which is 1.414. Hope that makes sense. Hard to write a formula in a youtube reply.
Thank you

What’s a good estimate to attend here?

Good video but a misleading title. Calculations are rhe simple part, the difficulty and tricks come in actually fitting up the 45's to run true as there are many ways. Have yet to see any good videos showing how to do from any RUclips channel.
I agree with you, it would of been nice to do the fit up
those are huge gaps. are those root tacks?
they look closer to 1/4" gaps.
sorry, just a welding inspector here.
Je veut bien les leconts en franncais svp
Show how to figure odd degree fittings
Sir possible to arrange a pipe fabricator /fitter job in your country. I am a pipe fabricator /fitter.
The Thumbnail is wrong. What you call "Run" is actually the set. Now when using 45° ells Run and Set are identical in lengths so it doesnt matter much, but its really matter when using Mitered ells 30°, 50° etc..
No more welding?
Muuyyyy bien....pero mejor explicalo en español...!
...please..!🇪🇸sl2 desde España
Lo más fácil es 1.4142 x la distancia y descontar los 45 y listo esa es la fórmula más rapida

Farmula bataiye sir
Farmula ka pura ex video me banaiye kitab kaise milega
Is there anything at millimetres for us in the EUROPEAN UNION?
get a pipe trades pro
you have the set and the run mixed up. doesn't matter on a 45 but other angles it could mess you up
First hereee
If you still use the chico card for that you are not a pipefitter
You are wrong you have backwards the set and run check the picture and check the picture and your blue book
2 half 45's,isnt so?, a complete 45 then
your run and set on your chart need's to be switched in how the subject is illustrated.
get your set and run right
sería bueno que por lo menos pusieran subtitulos en español. no entendí ni ma...
Para sacar la medida diagonal se multiplica la distancia que existe de centro a centro de los tubos por 1,41 y se descuenta lo que avanzan los dos codos de 45 grados

Dude u cant just give the formula
