I was in my mid 20's when this came out, it always struck me hard. Almost 30 yrs later, I still cannot listen to those tune straight thru without bawling. Such an amazing tune. We were so lucky to have had this raw talent in so many bands back in the 90's, just growing up and trying to figure everything out. Thanku Nixons.
I can't even begin to explain how much this song means to me. My brother died when he was 27, I was 19. This song makes me feel like we are still connected. He loved this song and so do I!
I am so sorry you lost your brother and at such a young age. I am sure you loved each other a great deal. I can offer you some comfort I hope. I had the relatively unique experience of dying, what is called a “near death experience,” although I don’t know why. I was dead and if not for life support, I would still be dead. I was on life support for nearly seven hours and when I realized I was back here I was horribly upset. I wanted to go back where I had been because there is absolutely nothing on earth that approaches what it felt like. I would experience overwhelming desire to return for several years. I have an idea what uncontrollable addiction must be like. I hope you can take comfort in knowing your brother is not suffering and is supremely happy where he is. I have yet to read anything by anyone who experienced what l did who wanted to be here instead. I have also found that we do not fear death in the least and some will even welcome it. My only brother committed suicide last September, age 73, with absolutely no warning. I have sisters but the bond with my brother was always stronger. It was as though he knew the real me when they never have. This song has represented my love for him since I first heard it newly released in the 1990’s. I listen to it often. I know he is at peace and whatever drove him to take his life is no longer an issue for him. I was blessed to see The Nixons in a small venue. They were fantastic, putting the featured, internationally known group to shame. One of my favorite memories.
Progresso TRICOLOR. Torcida INDEPENDENTE! Presente!
Man, back before auto tune, back tracks and all the smoke and mirrors of today's live performances. Just had a few guys, a few instruments and a whole lotta talent.
@Cari Scott What wouldn’t I give to have seen Smashing Pumpkins and the Nixons on the same stage! I no longer go to concerts but that’s one I would have tried to see.
I Love this song my brother Jack dedicated this to me 🌬💋💋💋💋💋💋A sister's love is deep and everlasting and never can be broken by anyone anything that's half my story !!
Here I am again, Overwhelming feelings A thousand miles away From your ocean home Part of me is near Thoughts of what we were invade The miles that stand between We can't separate Your all I hoped you'd become Sister I see you Dancing on the stage Of memory Sister I miss you Fleeting visits pass Still they satisfy Reminders of the next Overshadow goodbye Our flames burn as one Sister I see you Dancing on the stage Of memory Sister I miss you All I am begins with you Thoughts of hope understood Half of me breathes in you Thoughts of love remain true Here we are again saying goodbye Still we fall asleep underneath the same sky You're all I knew you'd become Sister I see you Dancing on the stage Of memory Sister I miss you Entwined, you and I Our souls speak from across the miles Intertwined, you and I Our blood flows from the same inside Half of me, breathes in you Thoughts of love remain true I see you, I feel you When I close my eyes I see walking there... I see you dancing in my mind
I met these guys at Club LaVela in Panama City Beach, Florida Spring break 95'. I wasn't in college or anything. I was 22, and a working man. Anyway. The guys were cool. The drummer really belts out the beats to be so small. Cool times.
Triste saber que esses caras estao ficando velhos e outros morrendo !!!Pena essas crianças de hoje crescendo ouvindo so porcaria de Funk ou musicas com playback !!!
This is still closer to Be like that than Black, especially the Sister.. i see you, i feel you, when i.. when i close my eyes.. Even the riffing is close to the last lyrics of If i could be like that, i would give anything.. just to live one day in the shoes..
My friend got his mustang in the bob wire and the grenade went off and the doobie brothers sang on the bar stool early in the morning and I sat in the grague on the couch later in Nixon was replaced by Ford and I said dont think I really want to argue with this dude he anit near as mental what ever you call it and he we go
Emotions are yours only so let this guy's band and I know how we should feel and act for your loop memes in your picture of myy pict because it's more importing then esp we can't even stop it cause y or her or she did who what when
The Nixons actually "ripped off" this melody from Pearl Jam's song Black. Both are great songs though! Which Nickelback song where you referring to? Just curious.
I’d rather see The Nixons rather than Kiss.

Long live the 90's, a time that cannot be repeated.

I was in my twenties in the 90's and this typified the sound of the time. I miss this decade.
Majestic Sanctuary ditto
I think everyone does. Even the people born yesterday. The new millennium kinda sucks.
🙅♂️agreed
@@MattHaze02 I turned 20 in 1996. I couldn't agree more.
I'm instantly taking back to the 90s , when I hear this song, one of the most beautifully written songs ever ✌❤🙏🙏

My brother passed June 29th he sent this to me in early days of one of his rehabs😢 it means so much
These guys made a video outside my apt on Elm Street in Dallas in what, 1995? They were pretty cool
Such a strong performance of such a strong song! This band is criminally underrated!
I Love this song my brother Jack dedicated this to me 🌬💋💋💋💋💋💋A sister's love is deep and everlasting and never can be broken by anyone anything that's half my story !!
Here I am again,
Overwhelming feelings
A thousand miles away
From your ocean home
Part of me is near
Thoughts of what we were invade
The miles that stand between
We can't separate
Your all I hoped you'd become
Sister I see you
Dancing on the stage
Of memory
Sister I miss you
Fleeting visits pass
Still they satisfy
Reminders of the next
Overshadow goodbye
Our flames burn as one
Sister I see you
Dancing on the stage
Of memory
Sister I miss you
All I am begins with you
Thoughts of hope understood
Half of me breathes in you
Thoughts of love remain true
Here we are again saying goodbye
Still we fall asleep underneath the same sky
You're all I knew you'd become
Sister I see you
Dancing on the stage
Of memory
Sister I miss you
Entwined, you and I
Our souls speak from across the miles
Intertwined, you and I
Our blood flows from the same inside
Half of me, breathes in you
Thoughts of love remain true
I see you, I feel you
When I close my eyes
I see walking there...
I see you dancing in my mind
I miss you sister dancing on the stage of memory
This song is an Ode to everyone out there that cannot connect with their sister....if you can ....Look after her

nickleback tries to sound like this guy....and basically ripped off their melody
The Nixons actually "ripped off" this melody from Pearl Jam's song Black. Both are great songs though!

Sheets of empty canvas...
Untouched sheets of clay....
Sheets of empty canvas...
Get a life. Or better yet write song your own.
Pearl Jam!!!!!
