I live in Dallas - I am baffled daily about what the hell is going on here. Clearly illegal, but you will NEVER hear so much as one news journalist say this anywhere. Well, lawsuits it is then. Thanks, Matt, for doing these.
For the record, the marriage question has been on the ballot in 35 states in 39 different elections. Altogether 51,483,777 voters, or 61 percent, favored retaining the man-woman definition of marriage. Same-sex marriage votes total 33,015,412 or 39 percent.
One wonders if any of the SCOTUS justices are keeping tabs on all this thumbing the nose at them. They take their jobs seriously. It's very disrespectful to have all these yahoos just give them the Bronx cheer. That's not how this country works.
Jim Michaud People who are bigots and racists and misogynists in Texas, unfortunately, are literally proud of the way things go like this because they truly believe they are "doing the only right thing", so getting them to change is almost always pointless. They truly want to take things back, although many conservative women don't really realize it, to a time when only white rich men who owned land could do or say anything in any meaningful way.
Jwb52z True enough. What I was implying was this boorish behavior on the Texans' part could hopefully turn off a couple of justices and swing the vote from 5-4 our side to 6-3 or even 7-2 our side. The 2 anti-us justices of course being Scalia and Thomas.

0:48 When a head shot of law maker is shown and he looks like a cowboy, there's an automatic reflex for me to roll my eyes.
Wow I just love my state. Unfortunately I shouldn't expect anything less from Texas.

They should take a lesson from Ireland. When the Yes side won, the No side was gracious in defeat and accepted the fact that the people had spoken.

Jim Michaud I don't think that this will affect the decision that the SCOTUS makes because it's not a part of the case itself.
