So this is by far my favorite Christmas movie and I’ve loved it since I’ve seen it! This is a great great story and preformed well by the muppets making you feel all the emotions, This is The Muppets Christmas Carol. The Muppets perform the classic Dickens holiday tale, with Kermit the Frog playing Bob Cratchit, the put-upon clerk of stingy Ebenezer Scrooge (Michael Caine). Other Muppets -- Miss Piggy, Gonzo, Fozzie Bear and Sam the Eagle -- weave in and out of the story, while Scrooge receives visits from spirits of three Christmases -- past, present and future. They show him the error of his self-serving ways, but the miserable old man seems to be past any hope of redemption and happiness. Again such a great holiday story and movie and we love it

Before production began, Sir Michael Caine told producer and director Brian Henson, "I'm going to play this movie like I'm working with the Royal Shakespeare Company. I will never wink, I will never do anything Muppety. I am going to play Scrooge as if it is an utterly dramatic role, and there are no puppets around me." Henson replied "Yes, bang on!"
They both for real said that? Respect to the production team and Michael.
It's even harder to hear Kermit talking about meetings and partings when you think that this is the first Muppet project after the deaths of Jim Henson and Richard Hunt...
This has been one of my go-to Christmas movies for as long as i can remember. Never get tired of it.
LOVE THIS MOVIE - one of my all time fav Christmas movies. It is soooo funny and underrated.
Marley & Marley are top tier in this xD
Also "leave comedy to the bears, Ebeneezer!" :D
It was a major Christmas tradition to tell ghost stories. Before Dickens wrote the original story the celebration of Christmas very pretty stagnant in Britain. Dickens was challenged to write a ghost story and he came up with A Christmas Carol. All the child labor that was going on was another reason with children pulling coal carts for 11 hours in a day.
This is one of the cutest and funniest Muppet movies ever made!
My favorite is Treasure Island, Tim Curry was great as Long John Silver
I was 13 when this movie came out. I watch this movie every year. It is on the Christmas must watch list.
"If you please Mr. Scrooge, it's gotten colder, and the bookkeeping staff would like to have an extra shovel full of coal for the fire?"
"We can't do the bookkeeping, all our pens have turned to inkcicles!"
"Our assets are frozen!"
"How would the bookkeepers like to be suddenly... UNEMPLOYED?"
"[singing] HEAT WAVE. This is my island in the sun..."
Fun Fact: Before production began, Sir Michael Caine told director Brian Henson he was going to play Scrooge straight. Henson agreed it was a great idea. Sir Michael Caine considers the role of Scrooge to be one of his most memorable (to him).
Torch Passed Fact: This was the first major Muppet project after creator Jim Henson's death. The role of Kermit the Frog was handed down to Steve Whitmire. He said he was incredibly nervous about taking over such an iconic character. The night before he recorded Kermit's songs for the movie, he had a dream where he met Henson in a hotel lobby and told him how unsure he was. In the dream, Henson reassured Whitmire that the feeling would pass. After waking up, Whitmire was confident and able to do the part.
Music Enthusiast Fact: The song "When Love Is Gone" sung by Belle, was dropped from the theatrical release (over the objections of producer and director Brian Henson) at the request of Disney chairman Jeffrey Katzenberg, who considered it too sad for young children.) The last-minute decision resulted in a jarring edit in the scene from which it was removed, and caused some confusion about Scrooge, Gonzo, and Rizzo's reactions. The scene was restored in the VHS, LaserDisc, and first DVD (full screen) releases, but it isn't used in television airings, Blu-ray releases, or the Netflix or the original Disney+ version. However, it is available as an "EXTRAS" option on Disney+. In mid-December 2020, Brian Henson announced that the original negatives for the removed scene had been found and would be re-instated (back) into the film, in time for its 30th anniversary in 2022.
Love the Muppets.
Lol you guys are hilarious. Scrooge be tripping on that Ayahuasca! Beating out those demons
Next Try Muppet Treasure Island and Then the Muppet road trip to where they became famous. And then the one with Kermits evil twin from Russia.

The best version of A Christmas Carol is Scrooge (1951) with a superb performance by Alistair Sim as Scrooge
Although Caine is very good, Sim's performance is the standard everyone else should be judged by and Sim is quite simply the best Scrooge
