The best way to get to know the Muppet characters is to watch the original Muppet Movie from 1979.. as well as a few episodes of The Muppet Show. Kermit also appeared a lot on Sesame Street from its debut in 1969. Also, the movies The Great Muppet Caper and Muppets Take Manhattan are also fun.
I'll have to watch all of them 😄
Muppets from Space is underrated IMO. One of my favs.
@@A-Dubs398 ABSOLUTELY
@@Lirtzie The Muppets Take Manhattan is MY favorite besides the original

There's one part of the film that you missed, though it's no fault of your own as it's something that over the years has been stupidly left out, put back in and so on when it always should've been in there without question. Before Belle leaves Scrooge, she sings a song When Love Is Gone, which the future version of Scrooge even sings along with before breaking down during upon seeing what he missed out on. Walt Disney Studios' chairman wanted it cut because he felt it would be too slow-paced and upsetting for children, yet the song is vital to emphasise what the viewers take in, and leads to its counterpoint song at the end 'When Love Is Found'. It _was_ put back in for all VHS releases, US LaserDisc releases, DVD releases, but then only as a bonus feature in the Digital Download portion of the Blu-Ray version of the film, without being on the Blu-Ray itself.
It took until last year on the film's 30th anniversary to fully include the film with the song on Disney+, but it should've always been. And so what if it's tough for children to watch and take in? That was the POINT. Check it out for yourself. It's very powerfully delivered, and makes Rizzo's sobbing at the end all the more justified.
"If you please Mr. Scrooge, it's gotten colder, and the bookkeeping staff would like to have an extra shovel full of coal for the fire?"
"We can't do the bookkeeping, all our pens have turned to inkcicles!"
"Our assets are frozen!"
"How would the bookkeepers like to be suddenly... UNEMPLOYED?"
"HEAT WAVE! This is my island in the sun..."
Merry Christmas! ✝️ 🙏 🎄 🎁
Fun Fact: Theatrical movie debut of Jessica Fox, Meredith Braun, Robin Weaver, Raymond Coulthard, Russell Martin, Theo Sanders, Edward Sanders, Anthony Hamblin, and Fergus Brazier.
Method Actor Fact: Before production began, Sir Michael Caine told director Brian Henson he was going to play Scrooge straight. Henson agreed it was a great idea. Sir Michael Caine considers the role of Scrooge to be one of his most memorable (to him).
Torch Passed Fact: This was the first major Muppet project after creator Jim Henson's death. The role of Kermit the Frog was handed down to Steve Whitmire. He said he was incredibly nervous about taking over such an iconic character. The night before he recorded Kermit's songs for the movie, he had a dream where he met Henson in a hotel lobby and told him how unsure he was. In the dream, Henson reassured Whitmire that the feeling would pass. After waking up, Whitmire was confident and able to do the part.
Music Enthusiast Fact: The song When Love Is Gone (1992) sung by Belle (Meredith Braun), was dropped from the theatrical release (over the objections of producer and director Brian Henson) at the request of Disney chairman Jeffrey Katzenberg, who considered it too sad for young children. The last-minute decision resulted in a jarring edit in the scene from which it was removed and caused some confusion about Scrooge (Sir Michael Cain), Gonzo (Dave Goelz), and Rizzo's (Steve Whitmire) reactions. The scene was restored in the VHS, LaserDisc, and first DVD (full screen) releases, but it isn't used in television airings, Blu-ray releases, or the Netflix or the original Disney Plus version. However, it is available as an "EXTRAS" option on Disney Plus. In mid-December 2020, Brian Henson announced that the original negatives for the removed scene had been found and would be re-instated (back) into the film, in time for its 30th anniversary in 2022.
6:25 "I cannot tell what this love may be, that cometh to all but not to me..."
Twenty lovesick points to anyone who gets that reference.
Rest in peace

and David Warner 1941-2022, David Hemmings, Ron Moody, David Warner and George Carlin were considered to portray Ebenezer Scrooge, Jim Henson later offered the role to Michael Caine, Roger Ebert and Gene Siskel were film critics
Roger Ebert gave the film 3 stars out of 4 stars, praised the technical achievement, but felt it could have done with a few more songs than it has, and the merrymaking at the end might have been carried on a little longer, just to offset the gloom of most of Scrooge's tour through his lifetime spent spreading misery. On the television program Siskel & Ebert, his partner Chicago Tribune film Critic Gene Siskel gave the film a thumbs down although he was favorable towards Michael Caine's performance
If I had a time machine I would use it to visit Charles Dickens and show him all the best adaptations of “A Christmas Carol” including this one. I was about 3 when this came out and it was the very first adaptation of the story I ever saw. I didn’t know it was based on a book at the time. I save this movie for Christmas day every year.
As someone else said, this version is missing a song... "When Love is Gone".. the producers thought kids would tune out on a sad ballad so they cut it.. but it was recently restored back to the film.
Annoying that I got the version without it 😩 I had no idea until you guys told me!
You maybe interested to know that there is a museum in London, UK dedicated to Charles Dickens, it is worth visiting especially at this time of year. I went to it last year before Christmas and although I don't know a great deal about Charles Dickens. I thought it was brilliant.
Your favourite is Joe the spider?!!!! 😂😂 He was in my nightmares as a kid
He is the best hahahaha
Merry Christmas to lirtzie
25:18 Funnily enough, the Jim Carrey version briefly addresses this, where Scrooge's maid thinks he's gone insane after his change of heart.
Fun reaction Lirtzie. I would have liked to see more of my favorite Swedish Chef😂. I feel his Swedish was spot on.
