@@G6Tarantula depends a lot on the screen it's being viewed on and calibration. also, reactors often have a bright light directly on their face which makes it even more difficult to see. horror movies should be watched the dark! I don't care if it makes your video more pixelated and low qual
@@mvvagner exactly. And they’re also focused on commenting on something that’s not exactly what’s going on in that moment. I’ve seen so many reacting to this movie where they’re talking about something from 30 min prior and they’re completely distracted from that scene and don’t notice her lol. Nothing on the reactor at all but man I wish they’d see her! It would add just that bit more to the video

It was such a great movie!!!
Think...no part of this movie would have happened, if Annie right from the beginning, went through her mom's boxes! Pro tips...go back to the scene, the mom's work table, watch the blue bottle! The director did Midsonmar as well. It's good but I just kinda didn't buy the premise, so I wasn't as impressed. This movie here, I would put up with The Thing, Exorcist, the shining, a few others. How Toni Collette didn't win an Oscar for this, is beyond me! A bit of horror truth, when he smashed his face in the desk, he was supposed to hit padding but didn't. His face looking all dislocated, was real! Also Peter's first class, is the same subject from the original Holloween, and the trailer for this came out the same day, the Halloween reboot did!😮😮😮Another callback is during their seance, the clock stops, callback to exorcist! What was hereditary in this family wasn't mental illness, it was Grandma and proly those before her, driving family members insane, with their satanic/cult worship! Charlie was already possessed, represented by the clicks. Heard while she was alive, and after she died, BEFORE the seance. I would say, joan tried sacrificing her son and grandson. Either they killed themselves, or she killed them. Seems if Paimon is not happy with a body it is in, it has to die and be beheaded, so paimon can leave the body, i say it happened to dear old grandma, and definitely happened to Annie and Charlie! I just noticed a weird parallel...when the dad gets charlie from the treehouse to go to the funeral, she standing up in the corner, and the camera view is from below slightly like shes twisting and floating!!!! In the almost final scenes, the mom is up in the corner of charlies room then floats away, then is up in the corner, above peter, as he's looking at his burned dad!😮 Biblically speaking, u NEVER want to conjure someone who is dead...this NEVER goes well! King Saul conjured the spirit of the profit, and all went downhill real fast!
Anyone notice in mom's room, triangle on the floor. The mirror? Like absolutely zero reflection?😮😮😮😮

And your question about the heads. The cult plan was to summon a demon, Paimon. If you remember the drawings, he was depicted with 3 heads. So probably thats why they needed the head of grandma, the mother and Charlie. To be honest i dont know much about this ritual and i dont know the steps of it, but if im not mistaken this is an exisiting story/legend so its not just made up for the movie

The lore about King Paimon is nearly spot on. Including the floating bodies. The only deviations are the need to face northwest, & the need for the 3 heads. But both of those changes add great effect to the film
A great movie to watch for Spooktober, Lirtz!
Hereditary is such a great horror movie. The death of Charlie was utterly shocking when I first saw it. Couldn't believe they actually showed her head on the side of the road like that. That image and the mom screaming in the background was horrific. I didn't see this in theaters, but I want to know what the vibe was like seeing this movie in theaters with audiences. Must had been dead silent after that scene
Toni Collette was fantastic in this. Shame, she got snub at the Oscars! She deserved a nomination for Best Actress that year.
Thanks Slade! Toni should have gotten the Oscar 💯 she nailed her character and all the scenes perfect! Yeah I was not ready for all the scenes in this movie, that is for sure 😅 A lot of wtf hahaha

Great reaction to a brilliant tension horror. When was the last time a horror film made you nearly jump out of your seat with a mere tongue click?
A bit of geekdom regarding the lore behind this. He is talked about in a couple of medieval books. The translation of one of those books is actually the book shown (after modern translation). The lore regarding King Paimon is almost all spot on! there are only a couple of diversions from the historic lore. But the deviations do add a LOT of extra ritual to the movie.
1. King Paimon is actually 1 of 9 Kings in Hell, not 8. The number 8 was chosen so it could be matched up to a direction of the compass & add a bit of extra depth to the story. Therefore the cult facing Northwest is just for ritualistic effect.
2. The beheading thing has nothing what so ever to do with the lore of King Paimon. The reason it was used in the film is because of the artworks we have of King Paimon on his camel. There are 3 heads hanging from his belt in the artwork. So that was used so it could add a bit of gore to a couple of scenes to heighten the tension.
But some of the things that ARE lore accurate. Tony Collette's floating & seemingly teleporting body is well within Paimon's abilities. His lore says he is able to bend & break the rules of physics. So floating would be kind of easy. & as he is able to break the laws of physics Paimon could easily turn, let's say wood, into gold to make his followers rich.
I hope this adds a bit of extra shiver to the film.
