Yeah! I went on an apple site but couldn't complete a purchase of the camera kit 3. So, I bought what I thought was an apple kit on eBay. Turned out not to work. Was a brand x kit. They I found I could buy on Amazon's apple store, so I bought an apple one. There's screen printing on the apple kit which identifies it as apple. The brand x has no markings. The apple kit worked like a charm. Backed up my iphone11 files, photos, videos and contacts (export from the phone's "Contacts") onto my Samsung T7 Shield 2T PSSD drive. Simple and easy.

This has been the absolute bane of my existence transferring 4K videos recorded on my phone to a drive to cpu. I have an older iMac I edit on (2013) and when I connect my iPhone to it, it just turns on and off so that doesn’t work. Dropbox took 8 hours iCloud full Tried SD card reader from Apple, and it couldn’t transfer anything to the card. The best solution was air dropping it and it took about 15 minutes for 6-10 gb of videos. Would love to see transfer speed comparisons for airdrop vs ssd between a phone vs iPad and whether it makes a difference. I had an iPhone X I was transferring from.
BEWARE! Zero drives work with my iphone 14 pro and this dongle. Drive is found, read and shortly it shuts the drive off. Nothing can be transferred as it shuts off all the time. I have a new samsung T7 and not working. Another drive I have is samsung evo in SSD housing. Same problem with both.

Regular T7 doesn't have touch ID? So no fear of the scanner breaking and not being able to use for iPhone. It should always work if I don't hit or break it physically?
I have the t7 non touch, I connect it to both my iPad mini 5 and iPad 8th gen, t7 works great for a while then both my iPads stop reading the drive the led doesn’t light up, doesn’t show up in files nothing dead, connect it to my pc and android phone never a problem.
I have an Iphone 14 Pro, Samsung T7 shield and USB 3 camera adapter (both original and cheap copy). With the original camera adapter the led on the ssd does´nt light up. But it does light up with the cheap copy camera adapter. But the SSD does´nt show up in the Files on my iphone. It works fine on my PC and the SSD and iphone are updated. HELP!?
Thank you for this video. I've watched it many times to achieve my goal of moving photos and videos over. I'm all set up and I'm about to transfer the files. I did a test on one video. I moved it from my phone to my T7. Then plugged in my T7 into my Mac to see if the video was there. It was! But it doesn't look the same quality. It's ever so slightly grainy. Any advise?

When using the password protection it says read only on my iPhone and I can’t move my files, even though I have put my fingerprint on it. Good for backups when you're on the road and you don't have data connectivity. Android phones would probably need external power too. I don't know how much power these external SSDs need.

I’ve been looking into SSD. I use my iPhone to shoot snd edit. I’ve been looking into the T5 & T7. What I’m wondering is if the iPhone 11 even has read and write capabilities to match the T7. If my iPhone can’t even match the speeds of T7 I might as well get the T5. Any advice?
I do have the Samsung T7 which works well on my iPhone 11 max pro, however I just got the ssd Sandisk which in my disappointment doesn't work with iPhone 11 but works well on MacBook Air and iPad Pro. Isn't possible to make it work on the iPhone? Thank you
i was watching a yt vid on that.... and yea i heard that only when the sandisk portable has a password enabled it wont work on the iphone/ipad. but it will if you dont have a password set up. Basically, theres no software on the iphone/ipad to unlock the drive's password - which is dumb lol

Probably because the ssd needs to get power from a power source and iPhone can’t do that on its own or it will just drain the phone battery

Scanner breaks you gotta use password. That means only computer or android devices

hi can you please help me out i have been searching now for days for an answers to why when everything else got connected in right place it won't detect my SSd samsung t9? :( please help me out what to do i am getting too tired of this just bough 2 Power banks today i tot it was because of the powerbank but i think it is because of the SSD? i have pretty much new Gadget en etc... so it wont be the cable problem aswell i think thanks. kind regards:)
