Madeline this is genuinely the best podcast i’ve ever heard. Not this episode, but the whole podcast. It’s so nice to learn about how ur living ur life, especially before graduating. It makes me less terrified of graduating haha. Just the way u describe ur life, u talk about how things work in a way that no one else does. It’s super comforting thank u

as someone who was born and raised in la, everyone gets it wrong. yes there are weird people but also influencers ruin the image of la. there are so many things to do, perfect weather, clear skies. don’t listen to any of the influencers brainwashing you. go outside of hollywood and you’ll find a lot of scenic places. la isn’t all party and clubbing :)
things you can do:
malibu beach, descanso garden, cafe hopping, thrift shopping, corral canyon(hike in malibu), etc !

There is a sort of generalized anxiety to living here. It’s the days you have nothing to do knowing full well there’s a ton happening and everyone is out doing stuff. But if you look close enough, you can see someone going solo almost everywhere you go. It’s pretty normal to fly solo here. Especially in a city where a normal shift is rarer than normal.
I totally resonate with the moving back home and struggling with getting too comfortable, not resonating with old friends, and feeling like life is passing you by. Just did a video talking about it. 20s are such a weird time but glad I’m not the only one navigating this❤
As an LA guy, I heard her ramblings from through my laptop and had to come in and shut off what sounded like the most self engrossed, meta, LA person ever. And a lil LA translation: nice eyes means that it is evident you are pretty but don't like being measured by your looks, so as someone trying to flirt, it's a have a cake and eat it too compliment. A compliment that says the further I look into you the more I like what I see. LA people have a lot of experience dealing with tourists.

Celsius out of all of the energy drinks from personal and friend group experience literally causes heart palpitations and hella caffeine anxiety compared to the other drinks. Not monster, not reign not ghost not redbull, but Celsius I’ve had multiple people notice the difference in experience

LA people are very nice to your face. They’re not going ask you about your followers right off the bat, they’ll build a relationship w you then stab you in the back. If you do come across someone nice there, you’ll notice at the end of the day, they care more about themselves than other people. Going to LA to visit is sooo fun bc everyone is nice when you have a surface relationship!!!
