It's very sad that G7/G8 Real scene highlight HDR brightness is around 400-450 nits (rtings). I thought that it would be similar to G9 Neo with 800-900 nits (the last firmware update). Because of that level of brightness AW3423 looks better with its 500 nits highlights without blooming. Maybe the firmware update for G7/G8 Neo will fix this issue to be closer to G9 Neo. Around 700-800 nits would be enough to be considerably better than AW3423 in HDR brightness (possibly G7/G8 Neo brightness will never be equal to G9 Neo, as there are more mini leds per square meter in G9 Neo). In SDR around 250 nits in AW3423 vs around 350 nits G7/G8 Neo is a better situation for G7/G8 Neo.
Your right, When I put my NEO G7 to the same settings as your monitor I can see the same conclusion you have come to. The G8 is a tad bit brighter and the G7 is Warmer.
I just put in my order for the Neo G7 as I’m not a competitive gamer but want to get the most out of my series X, I like Neo G8 and how you explained both but for my price range I’ll go with G7
Great choice. The Neo G7 is basically the 8 minus the white and diff body and matte coating. 240hz is still hard on pc. The Neo G7 is perfect for your xbox.

I recommend rts as you can lower or raise the black equalizer to your liking. In cinema it's a set Preset. But the BE between 11-13 I think is good Everything else is really up to you. Brightness, contrast etc. Default is good mostly. Local dimming on high for gaming. Off for work. Contrast Enhancer on for console or if you need that extra image pop.

Thx friend :) ... How pronounced are the scan lines on yours. I mean is it hard to see or easily noticible. But for the videos I use cinema preset but I do recommend rts as you can control the black equalizer to get it to how you want the contrast. Color saturation can be at 50-58 and everything else is default. Local dimming high for gaming
@@DisplayReality the are pretty bad in light blue and some orange I’m really sad about it since I was waiting on this screen to get in the shop in Denmark ,, I brought the Samsung neo G9 but I also returned that because of the bad scan lines and now the same problem with this monitor :(
hello first of all i thank you for all the hard work for this content and many more . so.i try upgrading my gaming monitor for a couple months now and i dit not no of the samsung odyssey neo series i have now try 4 gaming monitor now included an oled tv sony a90k but in the end all i returned base on hdmi 2.1 limited that i did not no or panel screen quality HDR not good not satisfied . so base on a couple of your videos i bought samsung odyssey neo g8 and its sooo good on my gaming laptop playstation 5 xbox series x and nintendo switch love screen quality of it and specialy HDR is so bright color are so amazing and blacks so im now satisfied whit this big and big upgrade .uograding from an LG 24 inc 3d monitor so thats a long time sinds ps3 came out i got the monitor and played 3d on pc but dint play 3d long time anymore and no need for it anymore so im.glad whit G8 going to be my gaming screen for next 10 years so very thank you
Is Neo G7 good for FPS games, e.g. Warzone or Apex? won't it be too dark? Would you choose another one at this price today? I mean a 4k 144hz monitor or more and 32"

can you please do some tests with PC games and applications? for example HDR test in windows?
On windows 10 hdr for me and others on win 10 seems broken. Everything is washed but on win 11 it's great. I will check after a new update

Is it for console? The Alienware dont have all the features for consoles. If its for pc then the Alienware.
Hello Victor, I was wondering how many watts the Samsung Odyssey Neo G7 pulls from the wall during normal HDR usage?
They have 1500+, 2000, and even 3000 Zones 16:9 27 and 32 Inch 1440p and 4k HDR Monitors releasing in the near future. What do you think about that? 🤔
The price points will be different. Asus has there's set for 1899/1999 unless it recently changed. Lots of new tech tho Im happy with the Neo G8 performance/price ratio.

Hello. i'd like to know what particular issues do these monitors have with HDR PC gaming. Could u please do comparison of two identical games on two neo G7's. One console version and another PC version. I know that windows 10 has some HDR options in screen setting and some games oficially has HDR support. How good they are ? And one more question about watching HDR bluray on PC. As i know mpc-be with madvr supports HDR. Does it look good on these monitors on any PC media player ?

I am just unboxing it I keep putting it to the side as I just recieved these new monitors. It's good. It's very bright so I love it.i wish I had a 3080 to see the 144hz
im looking in the Lg 32gq950 and the neo g7 , so you would recommend the neo g7 over the LG one as i understand ?
i have the LG 27 gp950 now and i love that monitor but i wand a bigger one like 32 inch, and im scared of a curved screen never used one on real im afraid i wont like it.
The 32GQ950bis an super sized GP950 which is a good thing. No IPS glow due to the new polarizer but it's still very good. I'll get to a vs video this wk.

I bought the new LG you mentioned and picture quality was worse than my og g7, took it back. Contrast ratio on the LG was very very bad, resulting in dull, boring, dry colors. After putting my g7 back it was like night and day even with 1440p resolution. I say go for neo g7 or neo g8, they even have higher contrast ratio than the og g7 VA 240hz.
I wouldn't get the LG if you're looking for good HDR. It's SDR picture is second to none though.

The mini led really does help HDR and sdr. I love playing on it for real. But prices are coming down so much competition 1299 for the Neo G8 is a great deal.
Q90b 43' or Neo G7 which is better or are they the same ???
To me G7 colors look warmer ? Do you notice it too?
From the Neos I own yes I do think the panel is warmer on the Neo G7. But can be helped in the menu but naturally the 7 is warmer out of box.
Hey Viktor after intensely watching all your videos I purchased Samsung neo g8 and got mine today But if I select the HDR mode on windows the monitor gets too dim and I was not able to change any settings to increase the brightness, I am currently on windows 11 insider preview builds and have a 3080ti does it happen same with you like I am probably getting 250 to 300 nits on HDR max I think But on standard it do really pop for You tube videos and tried forza horizon 5.
I'm on windows 10. I cannot use currently HDR on PC because on mine it's too bright. It looks very washed. Even the sdr slider does not help. I believe I have said this on my Neo G7 video. So far I have not messed with it. See if local dimming on or off or adaptive sync on or off does anything. As soon as there is a firmware update I'll check and see.
Victor solution to flickering is in the monitor menu, i call samsung and they to,d me how to fix it, is just turn on VRR CONTROL ON, on the monitor menu,

i received my Neo G7 and i returned it within an hour. As you said there was back panel issue and it was loose i spotted this on the upper left back panel. Monitor does not go higher than 120 Hz in Windows, 165 is not exposed to Windows 10 so in practice you have are limited to 120. The curve is very aggresive and it makes the screen umpleasent to work with Web browsing , Remote Work , Scripting and all that. Also my GL850 with Nano IPS has a lot better colors and pixel density. Some icons were showing pixelated i dot not know if it was a technical issue or s.th else. I think it is bettet to wait to see what other options will be out in the near future
Good you returned it we should not put up with that back panel Quality control issue. I Hope you find a great monitor in the future that fits what you need friend. LG Nano colors are superior still I think also..

My Neo G7 runs at 165hz in Windows 10
Are they good for 7-8 hours programming? I am thinking to switch from 22inch flat monitor FHD.
Are they too curved to use for 8 hours daily? Which one should I go for Neo G7 or Neo G8?
Honestly I have just started live streaming and having the stream software on the neo G8 is a dream. The ultra matte screen is easy on the eyes for long periods of time. But the Neo G7 would be better as there would be no scan lines on 165hz modes. I do see some scan lines on my Neo g8 in 240hz mode.
@@DisplayReality I am going to run them @60Hz, :) Why I am choosing them is I have neo qled tv and I love the mini leds. I also recently used 32 inch 4k flat screen, and found corners are little bit difficult to reach when you switch from the center of the screen to any corner.
We anyway don't need higher refresh rate for most of productive tasks.
I m just afraid of the curve. I have a doubt what if curve affect me in a way that I haven't imagined.
LG's monitors are good but they cost too much for have no FALD and Horrible contrast ratios?
I love LG.....but this is what always turned me off about their monitor tech in the LCD world. They have no freaking FALD monitors. IF they had one comparable to the G7 & G8, I would have gotten theirs in a heart beat.
Which one is in the middle? Its looking very clear and more bright.
The middle one is the Neo G8 but because the screen is ultra matte the camera captures it best. They all are clear it's just the Neo G8 to me still is a small bit clearer vs the 7.

HDR is very good in my opinion on the neos. Tho on the AW3423DW it's really amazing with hdr.
Have you reviewed mpg 321UR-QD , how would IPS QD fairs against Neo monitors
MSI QD Monitors are really good. I have not tried one out yet but Hardware unboxed always likes them. The QD line..

Do you think Ultra Gear Nano IPS has better color reproduction than Neo G7/G8?
I do think so by a small degree. The saturation of tales of arise looked nicer on the 32GQ950 but the mini led Neos looked great when the sword of fire was pointed in the air with a dark background. The neos looked 3deeish.. that's what VA brings vs ips. The 32GQ950s 32 zones don't dim like the Neos. Still looks good but the neos with 1k zones always looks better. It's tough deciding because both are great.

Uhh...i am really confused about this. Dp 1.4 or hdmi 2.1 support 4k/120hz max .....with dsc can you actually get past 120fps and play at 200fps/4k .....is it possible?
According to Samsung it's possible thru dsc.. but on DP. I usually game only on DP but I will test thru hdmi soon.. just to verify for everyone..
You just need one more G7 and then you can do some Nvidia Surround triple monitor gaming 🙂

Guys do you think i face flicker issue while PC gaming on Neo G7, On PC with max settings it is really hard to reach even 60 70 FPS on 4k
Have you enabled VRR option in the monitor menu? To see of it removed thenflicker as it should especially on PC.

I think it would. Tho I just got a 4080 and it runs everything great.
