I bought this kit in July of 2020, after not playing for over 25 years. After checking many online reviews, and checking the price, I was sold. Being able to purchase my own kick pedal, I think is a good thing, as you can choose what you like, brand, style etc. Yes, I agree the hi hat pedal is kind of ordinary…but does the job. I’ve connected the kit with Melodics, online platform to retrain me, it basically asks you to practice every day for at least 5 minutes, and I do my best. So I’ve basically been playing the kit for 2 years and a half now, without any major problems. It works. Does the job.
Hi! Thanks for a great video. I’m thinking of purchasing this kit but I’m looking for one that can easily be folded in a triangle and stored away after a session, as my flat is rather small. Would you say this is the case here, and do you know the measurements of the kit once folded? Thanks a lot.
I’ve been playing drums for 15 years but I have never owned an electric kit. Is this a good option to use with ezdrummer 3 and start using it for demos ?
I don't see why not. It's a valid choice, but is it the best choice? The module is really basic, but you are supplementing it. If you want a lot of functions at your fingertips on the module, this might not be the kit for you. But the sounds you do get are pretty decent. The pad sizes might be a tad small if you're used to an acoustic kit. You might prefer something like the Alesis Crimson II with larger pads. That will feel more like your acoustic kit. But this is a Roland, and that brings with it a level of quality that might be lacking from other brands. It just depends on your priorities.
Hey bro, it is a nice drumset, but be aware that module is really very basic... If you want to plug on the computer, the ride cymbal will lose its bell sound, because the cymbals have only one jack. The toms are all mono, so you won't be able to change the rim sound (such as adding a tambourine or cowbell). The snare also doesn't support sidesticking in all kits. Anyways, there are some cons that won't bother begginner players, but in your case I would guess a used TD-17 would be more worth it.
Hi I know this is 10 months later, but definitely go for wired as bluetooth often has latency issues that cause what you are playing and what you are hearing to be delayed. Might help someone else if nothing at all.
Definitely! Can't believe there's not even one spare slot. With zero customisation too. Way better off going for a TD07, even complete beginners will be board of the kits in a few months. Of course it can be used as a midi controller though
I do not like the module presets on this kit....or the high hat pedal. That is crappy. I would have paid more for a better pedal....i am going to replace it.
I am considering it too, i recently bought cy8 with stand used for 70$, now i search for kd-10, then i'm going to look for fd-9 I think. That 300$ upgrades are really worth it imo.
@@bapka8 got the same when I first bought mine. Four cymbals, bigger snare, def better than the others. Hi-hat pedal response sucks, even with sensitivity changes. Next purchase is a new module with more variety. The feel is the best part of this kit.

Luke: "What did you say about my kick pedal? Your ass is grass after this video, mate!" 😅
If you guys were to bring back the Sounds Like without busting the bank series, can you do an Abe Cunningham episode?

Hi,i have this kit for 3 years now ,very good kit for this price!!solid And yes Very modular so foldable after a session🙂
1dmk is better or 7dmk?
Hi! Thanks for uploading such a great video! How do you enable the cross stick on the snare?
It is available only in one of the presets. On the other presets they sound like a rimshot.
Are you going to do any more sound like?

Hi, was just wondering is it better to have a wired set of headphones for electric kits, as opposed to Bluetooth??

Not with Simmons Bluetooth is way better theses days
Don't know about anyone else, but I could happily live without the play along tracks and have the ability to build a user kit or two.instead.

@@revivedfears Every kit is made to tempt you to the next tier above!
@@ThePowerchimp but I really don't think there's any point when the td07 is such a better module and also only about 100 bucks more
