"Preconfigured. One connection into the brain". So can you not substitute another brain that uses individual 1/4 inch inputs? Hard to tell from the angle here, and on the website. Thanks.
Hi, Baphomick! You would be able to use a different sound module with the kit if you wanted to upgrade or expand. The "One connection" is just the type of cable it uses. So, you would also need to get some cabling to make it all work, as well. Thanks for your interest! Mike Wuchter, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1789
Hey, Bob. You are correct, this sound module does not have a traditional MIDI input and output, just USB. Roland TD-1DMK or Yamaha DTX 522K for the begginer drummer? I'm thinking of buying one of them in the UK. Roland is for 499 pounds and Yamaha for 549 pounds. For excample, if i like to put a sound of the "Percussion kit" on the ride of my "Rock kit". Can I change them between the kits to get a individual kit? Cause there are no user kits to build your own kit out of all the sounds ant safe them :( User kits are very useful, would be bad, if there is no chance to edit the kits.
A bit late but still might as well confirm. You are sadly not able to change different drums to different kits and you are only able to use the kits it gives for all the drums

Hi Nick. Like so many others, I loved your review... a lot of information and very little BS. On the back of your review I purchased this item for my children ( and, maybe, me...) You mentioned the phrase " Right out of the box " several times. However you did not mention that this product cannot be played " right out of the box" as it does not come with drum sticks and, more significantly ( and certainly more expensively!) it does not come with a kick pedal for the bass unit! Worthy of mention in an independent review, I would have thought. You also state that you assembled the entire kit in 10 minutes.....this is plainly not true as you had a kick pedal and drum sticks! Also, as a veteran of multiple assemblies, both furniture and musical, it took me 10 minutes to figure out where the hell to arrange the pieces for assembly ( after taking about 8 minutes to release them from their packaging ) I challenge you to post a real time video showing your 10 minute assembly..." Right out of the box", as you say yourself! I know zip about drums or how to assemble / play them but I am truly encouraged by your excellent review. Just give us the reality messages too... Love your relaxed style and encouragement oozing from this review....
It depends on the speaker you are using. If the speaker takes a 1/8" plugin you can use an auxiliary 1/8" cable from the output jack to the speaker and it should work fine. If the speaker takes a 1/4" plugin you will have to buy a 1/8" male to 1/4" female adapter to plug into the module, at which you can plug a 1/4" aux cord from the module to the speaker.

I just bought this set for my son who is learning to play the drums. I was told that I can hook up an external amp/speaker but can't seem to figure out how to do that. All amps seem to require a 1/4" cable but the drum set only has a 3.5mm output jack. Can I hook up an amp?
Seems that the snare is randomly changing sounds in the section starting at 11:40. Is that velocity related or perhaps you are hitting where the trigger mechanism is touching the head sometimes?
@@ericsdrumlab4750 I solved the issue by decreasing the sensitivity of the snare a lot. It works, but then just forget about the rim shot, it becomes just a single zone snare which works for me since I play mostly metal.
Thanks for the interest, Markus. In that price range, I do like the playability and feel of the Roland kits. Certainly you are limited in sound choices with that type of kit, but depending on what you are doing, you can always either use virtual instrument drum sounds from your computer or trigger some type of other sounds if you are looking for variety.

Hey, Bob. You are correct, this sound module does not have a traditional MIDI input and output, just USB. So, if you would like to be able to use another brain you would be replacing the one that comes with this kit. However, if you interfaced the module with a computer there are a number of great drum applications that you would be able to use it with to expand your sound palette. Great question!

If i bought this kit, Could i replace the right symbol with another crash symbol? Because im used to hitting a crash symbol thats on the right side
I don't own the kit but it looks like each component has its own colored cable, so maybe just change places of the cables?
there is a second crash cable, you could plug it into the right-side cymbal pad instead of the ride cable
The sound is very nice, I like it sooo much!
But is it possible to change the sounds between different kits? For excample, if i like to put a sound of the "Percussion kit" on the ride of my "Rock kit". Can I change them between the kits to get a individual kit? Cause there are no user kits to build your own kit out of all the sounds ant safe them :(
User kits are very useful, would be bad, if there is no chance to edit the kits.
A bit late but still might as well confirm. You are sadly not able to change different drums to different kits and you are only able to use the kits it gives for all the drums
Plug it into a computer and run Addictive drums. You can assign any pad to hundreds of better sounds

I tried it using the USB port, but as far as I know I can only use it for MIDI. How did you get the raw sound?
I would be pleased if you could help me!

Hey guys, any updates about this?
looks like there's a headphone mini jack output, I'd get a mini jack to jack cable/trs/xlr etc and plug it into whichever you use to record :)

I believe you can do this with any of those mini amps, but you would need an auxiliary cable.
Can I use this module with an acoustic drum? I would pair with the KT10 kick just get the kick sounds from it.

can you swap out the snare pad for a larger Roland mesh pad and then move the 8" pad to the floor tom spot? Seems like an easy good upgrade.
Thanks for the question, Frank. Yes, you can do that no problem. The only issue I can see is, depending on what pad you upgrade to, it could cost almost half or more of what the entire kit costs! Let me know if you have other questions.

What double bass drum pedal do you use in this video?
Mapex falcon double pedal
Also, as a veteran of multiple assemblies, both furniture and musical, it took me 10 minutes to figure out where the hell to arrange the pieces for assembly ( after taking about 8 minutes to release them from their packaging )
I challenge you to post a real time video showing your 10 minute assembly..." Right out of the box", as you say yourself!
I know zip about drums or how to assemble / play them but I am truly encouraged by your excellent review. Just give us the reality messages too...
Love your relaxed style and encouragement oozing from this review....
can i inquire about the connection of the module to the speaker.
@@sammorgan7914 thank you. but the module has only one input, either for headphones or for the speaker connection. is there any possible way where i can wear my headphone with the speaker connected at the same time?

What's the best kit in this price range for Urban voicings - Rap / Hip Hop / R&B... ect? Roland? Yamaha? Alesis?....
And of course, if you are using for recording, then you can capture your performance on the TD1 in MIDI data and use whatever sounds you want in your DAW. Let me know if you have other questions.
