One great thing of Roland's drums is the good and natural sound when mimicking various type acoustic drums and percussion, even on their entry level lineups. Cool !
I have listened to drum tones from many brands in the same price range. Including Carlsbro, Alesis, Yamaha, Donner, Thomann, Millennium series and other cheap Chinese made drums. None of them can capture Roland's voluminous acoustic realistic tones. With this model, Roland is suitable for both entry-level drummers and intermediate level drummers like me. He's doing his job. The materials are very high quality, the shelving system is rock solid and heavy, difficult to move. Although the module is entry level, I have been using the same model for 6 months, which has ready-made tones that can easily meet the expectations of rock metal and pop lovers, and I have never felt the need to switch to different tones. a computer. Hello. Awesome video. Thanks. Hope you can help me with a doubt I have. Reading thee manual, I see that the either headphones/line output is a stereo out, but is it truly stereo? I mean, are the sounds paned across the stereo field? Do you hear the hihat more on the right side and the ride more on the left side and that kind of thing? Or is it just dual mono and everything is the same in both headphones? Thank you very much!
I like the sound of the drums in the intro. But I cant seem to find that sound in the 15 settings. I recognize the intro tom sounds in one of yhe settings but bass and snare are different. Is the intro done with this set of drums or a different one.
I just bought my son a td 11 for $120 similar way this is set up except only came with one cy-5 and one cy-13 ride. All mesh. And I don’t know if it’s because i got it for a steal of a deal but I have it set up in front of my upgraded td17kvx and the smaller td11 is way more fun to play.
I tried this at a music store and didn't get the sound like anything close to this. It was more like a toy drum. How did you get this output from this drum? Directly from the headphone out? I know the pro drummer makes a difference, but still. Also the output level is very very low. I went to buy it but now I'm in doubt. Any ideas?
Hi, the demo was recorded directly from the modules stereo headphone output indeed, and it actually has no onboard editing/fx for the kit sounds actually :) so how did you monitor the kit? Have you been using a good pair of stereo headphones? Kind regards
@@drumtecTV thanks for your reply. Yes, I tried with a decent pair of monitor headphones provided by the staff. Another Roland kit with a more expensive module sounded more like in this video. I just wonder if this is a normal case or I did something wrong. The staff said the max volume level is intentionally kept low to protect the ear health of practicing kids. When I kick the bass drum with a low-medium force, I almost don't hear it at the max volume level (20).
@@bmertg Hi, try a pair of headphones with a lower impedance (hope that´s the right word in english). A lower impedance will result in more output signal. And have you checked if the trigger settings are set up correctly for your pads? The TD-1 module has very little settings & those are "hidden" because there is no screen. So you have to follow the instructions in the manual to set up the trigger settings correctly according to the pads of the TD-1DMK. Kind regards!
@@mattladg I'm really sorry if I sound like a beginner in drumming, but do you mind if you link a video or go into more depth? Im a little bit confused, sorry.
This is an awesome drum set. I’m gonna get one of those tomorrow. I have an acoustic one but it’s too loud. I’m so excited 😆 This is an amazing drum set with an amazing drummer 👍🏻
Thank you very much! No, unfortunately the TD-1 module does not have any snareless snare sounds. You could use a double pedal on the bass drum pad, I was only using a single pedal in the demo though. Kind regards!
Thank you very much! Yes the snare is dual zone, but you'll have no control if it's rim shot or cross stick sound, this is fixed in the kits and cannot be edited. You might check out the more recent Roland TD-07KV kit with the new TD-07 module, which is much more flexible & can perform rim shot or cross stick sounds on every kit when switched over: ruclips.net/video/E79e5gFozZ4/видео.html www.drum-tec.com/roland-td-07kv-v-drums-set Kind regards!
@@drumtecTV Thank you for the fast answer! But if I buy the td1dmk set,can I buy separate a snare with rimshot and cross stick mode to replace the td1dmk snare?
Hello drumtec . Hope you are doing great. I just wanted to ask if I can plug in my phone to the drums so I can play while listening to music. Please answer because I think I am going to buy a new drums and this is a big factor that I will consider. Thanks a lot
Hey, you can do that. It has an input jack and output one. So just plug in your phone to the input and your speaker/headphones to the output. You can even use a simple USB B to USB A cable to connect it to your PC and use an app like Melodics (then your output should be that of your PC). Source: I own this kit :)
Hey Andres, yes the audio was recorded directly from the stereo headphone output of the Roland TD-1 module. You should also check out the more recent TD-07KV kit by Roland: ruclips.net/video/E79e5gFozZ4/видео.html ruclips.net/video/PNzHRh1zMcM/видео.html Kind regards!
The kick beater is noisier compared to the rest of the kit so you can upgrade it to the KD-10, everything else is pretty silent. As far as floor vibrations are concerned, having an additional carpet is required but only if you're playing heavy or using a double bass.
Hi, yes any Roland kit will have significantly better playability/triggering/functionality & superior build quality as well. Have you checked out the upgraded drum-tec edition of the TD-1DMK kit yet? ruclips.net/video/4bfrc1jOB8Y/видео.html You can get any individual/customized Roland kit configuration from drum-tec, if you are interested please get in touch through info@drum-tec.de :) Kind regards!
Hi Ralf. Very cool demo. I was wondering of the longevity of this kit knowing that it's been a few years of launching. Will there be any long term issue I need to worry about? Spare parts perhaps? Or updating any software? Thanks man.
I'd suggest to look at the more recent TD-07 kits, especially the TD-07 module is so much better & more flexible than the TD-1. ruclips.net/video/vHt5deDm9wc/видео.html ruclips.net/video/PNzHRh1zMcM/видео.html Kind regards!
Question if you can answer. I’m thinking about getting this kit. Do you think if I loosen the left and right side I could fold it to put away when I am not using it? I don’t have enough room to keep a set up all the time and the ones that do fold Worry me with the sound because they are so cheap. I know these Roland kits are good.
Yes you could probably do that, maybe you'll have to remove the snare pad to have enough space to fold the rack together. But generally speaking, the kit & rack are rather compact & flexible: www.drum-tec.com/roland-td-1dmk-v-drums-mesh-head-kit Kind regards!
Thank you Tim! Unfortunately the TD-1 module is very unflexible & only has its 15 onboard kits. You cannot edit / change anything, you would have to step up to a TD-17 to do so. Kind regards!
Firstly, nobody has a right to look that good in that hat... kudos to you fella 😎👍... As an old drummer who is looking to get back into drumming (on a tight budget of £600), is this E Kit still worth picking up in 2019? Also, how many extra drum / Cymbal input slots are there on the module?... I'll defo need to add an 18" ride and a 16" floor tom.
Hey guys, I'm thinking to get this kit, I'm an intermediate drummer and I plan to use this kit to practice when I'm not able to do it on the acoustic kit due to noise issues, and also record songs using a daw, however, I recently noticed the td-07kv es very close on the price and apparently has some higher level features. Would you recommend spending a little bit more and get the td-07kv instead?
I have purchased this set and you can barely hear the bass. I cannot find a way to set the bass louder. Also, the drum kit sounds don't sound very realistic like the Yamaha ones. Is there a way to upload new ones?

And have you checked if the trigger settings are set up correctly for your pads? The TD-1 module has very little settings & those are "hidden" because there is no screen. So you have to follow the instructions in the manual to set up the trigger settings correctly according to the pads of the TD-1DMK. Kind regards!
I just bought it and it sounds amazing. I am using Audio Technica AR5BT headphones
Hi. Just out of curiosity, is it possible to do cross sticking with this kit? the drums and playing sound great!
Thanks.
Yes it is
@@mattladg really? Sorry to ask, but may you state how? Thank you
@@groundzero5224 just adjust the rim sensibility and tershold to low and trigger the rim sound to cross-stick (you will not be able to rim-shot)
@@mattladg I'm really sorry if I sound like a beginner in drumming, but do you mind if you link a video or go into more depth? Im a little bit confused, sorry.
@@mattladg so we have to choice between rimshot or cross stick?
Amazing drumming Ralf, I have these type of drums in my churches' recording studio
Dude, you’re awesome!
Thank you very much! :)
👍🙂 Some nice playing, dude!
Thank you Janet!
He's so good with Jazz kit. I'm jealous
Thank you very much! You can find more drumming/music on my personal channel over here if you like:

This is an awesome drum set. I’m gonna get one of those tomorrow. I have an acoustic one but it’s too loud. I’m so excited 😆
This is an amazing drum set with an amazing drummer 👍🏻
Thank you very much, great to hear!
Worth it?
@@rocha2333 definitely worth it
@@gonza4388 I’m also looking at the alesis commander still don’t know which one to go
@@rocha2333 which one did you decide on?
Is there no snareless option? Also how did you get the double pedal?
Great demo btw.
Thank you very much! No, unfortunately the TD-1 module does not have any snareless snare sounds. You could use a double pedal on the bass drum pad, I was only using a single pedal in the demo though. Kind regards!
@@drumtecTV Even in the heavy kit section you used one pedal? Thanks for the reply, I'll look for some E-kits with a snareless sound.
@@drumsandcymbals8779 Yes :) unfortunately none of the current Roland sound modules offer snareless sounds as far as I remember. Kind regards!
@@drumtecTV thanks
can you do rim shots on it?
Yes
Congrats! Amazing playing and sound but I have a question: Rimshot and cross stick?
Thank you very much! Yes the snare is dual zone, but you'll have no control if it's rim shot or cross stick sound, this is fixed in the kits and cannot be edited. You might check out the more recent Roland TD-07KV kit with the new TD-07 module, which is much more flexible & can perform rim shot or cross stick sounds on every kit when switched over:

@@drumtecTV Thank you for the fast answer! But if I buy the td1dmk set,can I buy separate a snare with rimshot and cross stick mode to replace the td1dmk snare?
@@dimitrisgoktsis5702 No, it's not a problem of the snare but the TD-1 module, which is limited in features. Kind regards!
@@drumtecTV Thank you again! So the most vfm option is the previous link?
Hello, do I have to use an electric kick pedal? Also, can I connect it using a different drum speaker? Bluetooth?
Nice rolls
Thank you very much! :)
@@varunshridhar5892 man, a quick question, have you recorded this kit?? Or you know what's the easier way to record it???
Cool sounds
Is this really the sound? Sounds so cool! Roland td or alesis mesh surge?
Hey Andres, yes the audio was recorded directly from the stereo headphone output of the Roland TD-1 module. You should also check out the more recent TD-07KV kit by Roland:

@@rocha2333 Happy drumming! :)
Can I use this in my carpet apartment without sound proofing the base/hihat pedals? I’m Worried about creating noise for downstairs neighbors.
The kick beater is noisier compared to the rest of the kit so you can upgrade it to the KD-10, everything else is pretty silent. As far as floor vibrations are concerned, having an additional carpet is required but only if you're playing heavy or using a double bass.
How is this compared to Alesis Nitro Mesh? They are at same price. Though seems like Roland has much better sound dynamics.
Hi, yes any Roland kit will have significantly better playability/triggering/functionality & superior build quality as well. Have you checked out the upgraded drum-tec edition of the TD-1DMK kit yet?

You can get any individual/customized Roland kit configuration from drum-tec, if you are interested please get in touch through info@drum-tec.de :) Kind regards!

Yo la tengo. No toco como el baterista del video.La recomiendo, sonido excelente.Básico para principiantes.
But generally speaking, the kit & rack are rather compact & flexible:

great drumming, can you do any custom stuff on this kit like assigning different sounds to each pad? also can you midi a Roland SPD SX with this kit?
It's only got capability to add one more pad/ cymbal
You should check out superior drummer.
