@ThiagoNeres1 the sound is decent for the price. It took me a bit to figure out setting adjustments to make the sounds I wanted, though, but I'll admit I'm not great with computers. It's definitely a closer feel to an acoustic set thanks to the mesh heads. But it does still feel different. The highhat peddle isn't perfect on response time, so I got low volume cymbals for my acoustic hihat and have it next to the set. Over all at its price it is still worth it in my opinion, but also I'd say find time and a place to practice on an acoustic set as well. Any specific questions just let me know.

I just got this kit after starting the drum lessons I promised myself during the "long stay at home" and its freaking great - you answered the question i had about getting the dark mahogany and drum samples working and I can't wait to try them. ALL OF THEM MWHAHAHAHAAAA‼️‼️ (double kick pedal and tom + cymbal expansion arrives this week)
Used that little bass pad for my double pedal for a while until I purchased 2 mesh Alesis Bass pads and oh boy was that soooo much better haha. But that did require me to purchase a 2nd module. Also I discovered that the ride cymbal if I cross hit it my the body of my drum stick it does the bell hit more accurately
So how bad is it as is with a double pedal? My grand daughter has a double pedal for her regular set but I was wondering if she could get away with that pedal on this setup?
When just using the one bass pad it comes with to do double bass it sometimes would miss hits because your beaters will hit more to the sides of the pad and not directly in the middle. If just using a single pedal on it you won’t have any problems. I initially modded mine by opening it up and adding a second piezo trigger inside it but I really wanted a mesh bass drum so decided to upgrade
If the drum module that comes with it is similar to the original nitro module then there should be 2 additional inputs to add an additional pad or 2 so you could always purchase a 2nd bass pad.
I just ordered this today with the expension pack because..sex, after looking at it for a few weeks and waiting for Sweetwater to get more instock. I'm excited for it to show up so I can get back into drumming again. Thank you for inspiring me to start again.
Looking for my first drum kit and found this video, I'm a beginner who started doing practice pad stuff cause I was super into marching band drumming. Then I realized that drum kits are also awesome! Honestly amazing video, helped me out a lot.
I personally enjoyed playing the Simmons Titan 50 more than the Alesis and even the lower end Roland ekits. But for a beginner or long time drummer who wants a cheaper kit to practice quietly none of these are bad options.
Found it! I saw a couple reviews of this kit and they talked about using a double pedal, but they didn't show it, and they crabbed about double triggers or something, said it probably wouldn't work. But I knew Samus would show us! Hail to the king!
Just wanted to thank you for this video. After watching it, i ordered the kit for my lil girl (she has a kid acoustic drum set, ready to make the next step up) and she was beyond thrilled Xmas day. Just wanted to let you know your videos make a difference. Cheers, Beers, Burps and Hail Satan!
You convinced me to buy it. I just had to watch it fully three times as I enjoyed the skills, the humor and the socks. I’ll receive it Wednesday. Can’t wait ! I’m sure I’ll say « sex » after the first hit.
Experienced drummer but wanted to save space and control my EZ Drummer plug-in and it is awesome! Good response! Thank you for this review! Love your channel! Rock on brother.
I just threw my Aldi electronic drum kit out the front door. It’s laying in the yard getting rained on as I type this. Now I’m on RUclips looking for a better beginner drum kit. One that actually works! And RUclips knowing my thoughts before I do, probably because the algorithm has me sussed out, has this very video as a suggestion for me to watch.
never seen you before. Never seen what you do before. But can you do an unboxing for literally everything from now on? Love the energy! oh and the drum set is class
As a lifelong guitarist, THIS is the bang for the buck drum kit I was waiting for to start a new chapter of my musical journey on drums. I'm especially interested because it supports MIDI and most of what I do is in GarageBand for my Mac/iPad. Being able to plug in like that is perfect! $400 what a steal
I would love to have a nitro max as an upgrade to my existing drumpad so i can use in my upcoming gigs. Thanks for showing this, something for me to look forward to. 😅
I just bought the Nitro Max with the expansion pack(extra tom & cymbal) and I absolutely love it! I was afraid some of the toms or cymbals weren’t going to register all my hits but I haven’t had any problems. I was also worried the preset kit sounds were gonna sound cheap but they sound pretty good, i still prefer using Ableton since it has more variety and better accessibility to sounds. I’d also recommend using a snare stand for the snare since it does wobble when playing heavy. Overall I love it and definitely recommend it💯
Bought this kit 3 months ago. Very satisfied with it! I am glad to see that a double pedal can fit on this, my end goal is to learn to blast beat properly :D Thanks for this review! It motivates me even more !
Mine just showed up today. I figured I would have to buy a pedal and a snare stand because the snare is always falling off but yours doesn’t seem to move much. I played growing up and haven’t played in over 10 years because of my housing situation. I hope I can get back into drums with this kit.
Wow man.. very cool kit for beginners.. Shit, i might run out and get me one of these kits .. lol.. thanks for sharing this with us Samus.. much appreciated bro.. keep killin it.. 🤘🤘
I wired my own piezoelectric discs and was able to make a dual zone ride with the DM10 module, I imagine any modules newer than that one should be able to.
I own this kit as a beginner (with the extra Tom and cymbal package) it is a fantastic kit. The criticisms of it that the rack is still a bit wobbly is valid and the spring snare pedal is a bit meh but for the money it's great.
A couple months ago I bought my very first drum set. A Tama imperialstar. I underestimated how loud it is so I bought a Roland td-17kvx2 to practice late at night. Then I had to buy another hi hat stand because I didn't want to switch it up every time jumping between kits. Then I changed out the perfectly good heads for Remo emperor coated. Now I'm adding more cymbals and stands to the acoustic kit. I barely know how to play drums and I'm spending way too much money lol. I wish somebody would have told me this is a very expensive habit.
I'm torn between getting the Donner DED-200 or this. I played for about 7 years, but took a massive break due to the apartment life. Do you recommend one or the other? Does one slightly outweigh the other? Thanks so much, and great vids as always!
Considering he did a sort of review of that kit 4 months ago and said this was the best of 2023, I'd assume this is better overall. I don't know for sure but I believe this likely has more options to customize it.
I'm a bassist but have had a drum kit for years. It's really just so much fun. These sound a hell of a lot better than my piece of beat up trash ha ha. These seem really amazing for the price, might be my next gift to myself.
Somehow, if these ever get sold in Europe I seriously doubt the price tag will be the same. Things here tend to be more expensive. Although, to be honest with you, I would buy this for that price, and pay the extra for the cymbal and tom.
Idk about mainland Europe but I just got one for like $480 (£380) in England Unfortunately more expensive than in the US but there are seriously no better options. The Behringer XD80USB was £20 less brand new but the module on the Alesis is so much better, it makes the Behringer look like a toy. And with people selling 5+ year old TD1DMK for £300 (~$400) second-hand, and TD07 for closer to £500 (~$600), if you can even find one for sale that isn't a scam... A brand new Nitro Max suddenly seems like a good deal.
@@JamesBalazs Well, here in western Ireland everything comes from the UK . Maybe I'll be able to find a website with these for sale. I'm very hopeful of getting one.
Damn your good !!!!! Just got one myself and relearning to play ...started in first grade in the 70s ..played for almost 20 years... Living in an apartment I couldn't even consider getting an acoustic set ..this solves the noise issues with apartment living I love it ....I'm 57 now and playing again...been missing playing for years...and now I'm teaching my 6 year old grandson to play .... I am really glad you reviewed this kit, because I was interested in it. I was worried it would be too crappy for the price. I remember trying out the E drum kit at my local store when I was a kid, and being blown away by how cool it was, and how expensive it was. I wonder how kits from 16 years ago compare to these decent budget kits of today. But I mean geez this doesn't seem as good as that Drum tec set 😂

66Samus, you inspired me to pick up drums again, I quit a few years back, but now i'm gonna be back at it with a good ohhhhh yuuuurr!
look at how much fun he's having this is what music is about its like being a kid again.
Yes! Pure fun and magic
HOW WAS THIS @ DAYS AGO

The set I bought a few weeks ago for Christmas. Excited to use it.
I watched for the kit review, I subscribed for the unboxing sound effects 😂
Got this as a gift for Christmas, cant wait to set it up and play!
Found it! I saw a couple reviews of this kit and they talked about using a double pedal, but they didn't show it, and they crabbed about double triggers or something, said it probably wouldn't work.
But I knew Samus would show us!
Hail to the king!
Just ordered these. Cant wait to start learning!
Just wanted to thank you for this video. After watching it, i ordered the kit for my lil girl (she has a kid acoustic drum set, ready to make the next step up) and she was beyond thrilled Xmas day. Just wanted to let you know your videos make a difference. Cheers, Beers, Burps and Hail Satan!
thank you so much dude, and cheers!!! she will have so much fun on this kit!
You convinced me to buy it.
I just had to watch it fully three times as I enjoyed the skills, the humor and the socks.
I’ll receive it Wednesday. Can’t wait !
I’m sure I’ll say « sex » after the first hit.
hahahaha that's awesome dude!!
you will have so much fun :)
You're a very simple man with simple pleasures. You got a great personality 👍
thank you so much for the kind words and the sub!!!
This has fixed my crack addiction. And by fixed, I mean fueled. I lik
thats awesome man dont stop
um what 😭
Sick deme at 6 minutes 👌 love the fact you went straight to putting the double kick with the kit 🤩
You are so awesome, you are the best, your videos made me buy a good beginner drum kit
Experienced drummer but wanted to save space and control my EZ Drummer plug-in and it is awesome! Good response! Thank you for this review! Love your channel! Rock on brother.
Your blast beats are crazy sick
I just threw my Aldi electronic drum kit out the front door. It’s laying in the yard getting rained on as I type this. Now I’m on RUclips looking for a better beginner drum kit. One that actually works! And RUclips knowing my thoughts before I do, probably because the algorithm has me sussed out, has this very video as a suggestion for me to watch.
never seen you before. Never seen what you do before. But can you do an unboxing for literally everything from now on? Love the energy! oh and the drum set is class
hahaha thank you sir
As a lifelong guitarist, THIS is the bang for the buck drum kit I was waiting for to start a new chapter of my musical journey on drums. I'm especially interested because it supports MIDI and most of what I do is in GarageBand for my Mac/iPad. Being able to plug in like that is perfect! $400 what a steal
Mornin man hope your day is well peace
Overall I love it and definitely recommend it💯
@markcarreon9830 - thank you for this! Hearing other user reviews on a product I’m considering is very helpful. 🥁 🍻
Just got this kit 2 days ago and i'm loving it. Got it hooked up to Clone hero and my brother and mum are enjoying it too lol.
You had me dying at sliding in the bass drum beater and be sure to eat that (silica pack)
It took almost 4 glasses of water to satisfy his request. 😰 What food group is this in again?
Bought this kit 3 months ago. Very satisfied with it! I am glad to see that a double pedal can fit on this, my end goal is to learn to blast beat properly :D
Thanks for this review! It motivates me even more !
The first guy on an electric drum that can actually play drums!!
8:53 killed me, you sitting behind that tiny drumkit, playing along this practice beat 😂
Great Review btw, thank you
OMG the practice songs section I started cracking up, lol
Mine just showed up today. I figured I would have to buy a pedal and a snare stand because the snare is always falling off but yours doesn’t seem to move much. I played growing up and haven’t played in over 10 years because of my housing situation. I hope I can get back into drums with this kit.
Wow man.. very cool kit for beginners..
Shit, i might run out and get me one of these kits .. lol.. thanks for sharing this with us Samus.. much appreciated bro.. keep killin it.. 🤘🤘
It's illegal to but your volume town when this guy is playing geep it up man love you❤
I had the same issue with the ride cymbal becoming a bell with the Alesis DR6 over a decade ago. Glad to see they worked that out.
I wired my own piezoelectric discs and was able to make a dual zone ride with the DM10 module, I imagine any modules newer than that one should be able to.
You deserve more subs dude
Thanks for the review man, this looks amazing for a beginner!
Is this kit still 399? Because I’ve been looking everywhere for it and it’s like 800 dollars
I love the way you're opening these boxes awesome kit
what i like about this kit is the snare really big enough room for rudiments
I own this kit as a beginner (with the extra Tom and cymbal package) it is a fantastic kit. The criticisms of it that the rack is still a bit wobbly is valid and the spring snare pedal is a bit meh but for the money it's great.
Steel bb pellets! Pop the top covers off the legs and fill with bb pellets! This will fix your issue!
@FaithsFallen great idea thanks. It's not a massive problem really just something for people to be aware of with this kit
@@matwetton and add Superior Drummer 3 and it will sound like 100 000$ kits
I upgraded the kick pad to a Simmons Sd600kick works great for double bass
I had just added this to my amazon wishlist. Now I'm even more excited about them.
I've just discovered this channel, and he just seems like a non-Australian version of the Dankpods guy, lol!
hahaha that dude rules
I love it when Samus says "last but not baheest".
Like, who can be baheest but himself, it's good metahumor!
Samus, where did you get them socks sir? OH YURRRR!
somebody sent them to my P.O. box hahaha
I love my ded200s.. hooked up to midi in my daw with ezdrummer and it sounds like a love acoustic kit.
I'm a bassist but have had a drum kit for years. It's really just so much fun. These sound a hell of a lot better than my piece of beat up trash ha ha. These seem really amazing for the price, might be my next gift to myself.
It certainly helps that you're a ridiculously great drummer!
Somehow, if these ever get sold in Europe I seriously doubt the price tag will be the same. Things here tend to be more expensive. Although, to be honest with you, I would buy this for that price, and pay the extra for the cymbal and tom.
Idk about mainland Europe but I just got one for like $480 (£380) in England
Unfortunately more expensive than in the US but there are seriously no better options.
I'm very hopeful of getting one.
it is a song writers dream to get the basic feel of the beat down dor real musicians, I'm in and buying today thank you
"Silicon pack , make sure you eat that"
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Damn your good !!!!!
Just got one myself and relearning to play ...started in first grade in the 70s ..played for almost 20 years...
Living in an apartment I couldn't even consider getting an acoustic set ..this solves the noise issues with apartment living I love it ....I'm 57 now and playing again...been missing playing for years...and now I'm teaching my 6 year old grandson to play ....
But damn I'm blown away at how good you are ....
My inspiration growing up was buddy rich and Niel pert....now your a inspiration also....I've watched your video many times ....I love this set it's remarkable and like you said if I had something like this when I first started would have been mind blowing.....
how is the drumset?
@@nothanks6853 it's great ...I love it ..I been playing every day now ... definitely worth it ...
0:18 I’m out
😂
😂😂😂😂😂
I am really glad you reviewed this kit, because I was interested in it. I was worried it would be too crappy for the price. I remember trying out the E drum kit at my local store when I was a kid, and being blown away by how cool it was, and how expensive it was. I wonder how kits from 16 years ago compare to these decent budget kits of today.
But I mean geez this doesn't seem as good as that Drum tec set 😂
Man. My son is gonna be stoked!
i came for a normal review video but left smiling. you brightened up my day sir, thank you
thank YOU!
Well I bought the kit before the video ended. You convinced me 😅
thx for doing this review. its not my first drum set but people are always doing stuff in my house so it will be nice to finally be able to play drums more
your recklessness with the cardboard boxes always gets a chuckle out of me :D
He's honest, informative, fair and diplomatic in his reviews.
Alas, I admit I keep showing up largely to listen to him open the boxes. 😐
Funny dude. EDiting is superb. I'm sold
I love that you kept the falling stick at the end, and I love Alesis too
