Thank you all so much for the +2M views! 😊 Y’all rock. I went back and forth on this, and it was noted in the description box, but I probably should’ve clarified through a comment earlier. More info about the circumstances of the final take is in the description box. TLDR it had to be re-recorded and the song’s backtrack is present in the final clip. On another note - to the fellow new drummers - don’t be discouraged if you don’t see results quickly. I sure hope you’re not discouraged by my accelerated progression. This was by far one of my best challenges, and I think I came in with some necessary subskills already. The world of drumming is amazing and the people in the community are awesome. From my personal experience, they’re quick to help you from day 1. I do no not make a single cent from this video, and I’ve chosen to leave it up. For what it’s worth, I hope all can forgive any of my performance mistakes, and appreciate the effort I put into this month. Hopefully this video ignites a spark in old drummers, and new drummers alike. Keep rocking🥁🙏
Lol your performance is solid, only some minor mistakes and differences. Thank you for clarifying again, but I really don't think you need to apologize. Keep your head up, and don't let the negative comments bring you down. This video has most likely done 100x more good than harm, and anyone who thinks otherwise could potentially be insecure of their own craft and skill levels. Your other videos are living proof of the effort and sincereness you take into every skill you take on. Thank you for a wonderful video Kize, and looking forward to what you accomplish next.
My daughter started playing the drums because of you, and she's over half a year in. First time she's stuck with anything for this long. She also has shared your video with her friends and they all want to start a band now. Very inspiring.
A WOW!! 💯 Thank you so so much for this💓.. I'm trying to get some motivation and found this video. My thoughts says "I can't do this.. it's too hard" but I'll do my very best to be the best because of what you did😊. I believe that if you got to do it then anyone can
Do it drumming is rly fun (there will be some times when u wanna quit like when u try to learn a hard song for a while and still cant get it) and it’s rly not hard to learn
Honestly, learn how YOU want to learn. It doesn’t always come to you right away, I was a fast learner taking lessons but because of Covid I couldn’t, since then I’ve been learning by playing what I wanted to play and I am still learning things, there is no drummer that knows everything about drumming. Keep going!
Do it, they are so much fun to learn! It has moments where you’ll feel stuck but once you work threw the problem it a sense of euphoria I have yet to find anywhere else. You truly feel a beat and can’t help but smile the whole time! Iv been playing for 6 years and still have an unbeatable grin every time I play
i literally love all the replies. i was so anxious about starting while i’m already seventeen plus my parents keep telling me i should just give it up cause i’m too old to start playing an instrument anyways. thanks y’all really encouraged me😭
@@m.m.mmolly nobody’s to old to learn a new instrument, it only takes time and passion for the skill You won’t regret learning, even if it’s just for fun it’s always fun having a talent that you can show people ruclips.net/video/6wkCsnFRuwg/видео.html
I’ll give her credit for learning the song. She’s definitely going through the motions and knows the notes, BUT…there are many giveaways that show the drums we are hearing are not her playing (cymbal chokes, bass doubles, accents). The drums she’s playing (the acoustic kit) don’t even have mics to record. Either way I’d like to hear the raw audio of her playing the song to hear the actual 30 day progress.
i noticed that too. she was also hitting the ride towards the edge which would’ve had a crash build up sort of sound and some of the sixteenth notes were a little out of sync but still was cool to see someone have motivation to do something and go through with it
I'm a drummer myself (but i wouldn't say i'm a pro, but still pretty good) and i'm sooo impressed of this. You just learned all this stuff i learned in probably a half year in 30 days. One tip i can give you is to relax your arms. Try to put them down to your body instead of lifting them up like you have to carry heavy bags on your arms. It will make it a lot easier to play complicated things and just feels more comfortable. Alsotry to get the stick movement out of your wrist and try to hold your arms still if you don't have to play loud. It will also make it easier to play complicated things and just feels better while playing. But well done!
As a seasoned drummer and *attempted* drum instructor, this is mind-blowing to see how fluid you got after only 30 days! I tried teaching a simple rock beat to a couple students and it took much longer than this to develop the natural and relaxed playing style that you accomplished here. Very inspiring to all beginners I am sure!
@@Samuelon552 I noticed I could hear the cymbals muting but I couldn't see her muting the cymbals. Also her hi-hat and ride cymbal sounded too consistent when you see how her hands are moving. I don't know why she didn't just show us her legitimate take because it looked like she could play the song. I'm just really confused as to why she swapped the audio in post for a take performed by someone else who's better at drums, that defeats the whole purpose of the video.
@@raymondchow2828 there’s no mics for the drums but the drums r studio quality. it doesn’t mean she can’t play it bc by the looks of it she’s hitting the drums it’s just they’ve dubbed it over with samples probably because the original audio sucked
Well done! My wife is now encouraged and inspired by your presentation. She's 52 and wants to learn to play drums. This was a great video to show her how to get focused and organized to achieve her goal.
As a drummer, I was so genuinely happy for you when you figured out the kick/bass drum technique! I'm writing this at the 8:04 mark and I'm so excited for the remaining few minutes after this point! UPDATE: I just finished the video. Good job! That smile you had at around 10:28-29 really shows that you're enjoying! Love it! I hope you're still drumming.
@@thebuck2708 It's more likely that she had to record multiple takes, and then use the best video which wasn't totally in sync with the best audio. That seems to be what she's saying in the pinned comment.
As someone whos been drumming for about 6 years now, while you have some stuff to work on (should you decide to keep drumming) this was still damn impressive for 30 days, way more progress than I made in my first 30 days. Keep working at it because there is a lot of potential here
@@bobbyjoe1984@bobbyjoe1984 the audio you are hearing is not her drumming, first of all the drumset isn't even miced, her hi hat technique is wacky, in the audio you can hear the hi hat pattern as 16ths notes but with the 8ths notes being accented, she isn't doing that, when she moves to the ride she is basically crashing it which produces a lot of shimmer and sustain sound but in the audio you hear clean precise ride playing, not to mention all the hits in audio she doesn't even play like the crash hit at 9:15, she is hitting the snare weakly with the tip of the stick on the edge, but you hear a full fat rimshot snare that is being hit in the center, you just can't get that sound on the drumset with that technique I'm sorry, she did say that the audio was pre recorded but i ain't buying it
I hate how most people believe that she was the one actually playing the drums in the final part. it looks like you can play decently, but don't put the drums from the actual song as your own. I know most people in this comment section don't know how to play the drums so they can't really tell that the last part is synced. Here are some give aways: 9:07 she hit the symbol normally, but the sound was a choke, 9:13 she didn't actually hit the symbol, She dosent have any microphones for the drums. She can't play the drums exactaly to the song, so she just synced her drums to the drums in the song.
@@maijalematta8793 But like it doesn't make sense. Why not do the overdub correctly to match with what she played on video? If she really knows this song why did she play 8th notes in one version and quarter notes in another version. Why did she not make the choked crash cymbal match with her video performance? Why didn't she film herself for the overdub? It can be real easy to program a drumbeat off camera, and just say oh that was me playing. She filmed herself playing on the elctronic kit for the entire video but for some reason decided to not film herself for that last part? Kinda sus to me.
I'm a professional heavy Metal drummer here... And yep, im dissapointed that she faked it... First thing that labeled this as fake.. No mics, thanks for bringing this up man. 👍
@Musical Spiderman Because her reason doesn't make sense. If she is working on a shoestring budget, why did she spend the extra time and money to film herself playing on a real set and then dub it with an electronic set. Also having thin studio walls doesn't necessarily mean bad audio, not using mics will make you have bad audio.
@@totallynotmatt7407 And you're delusional if you believed that bullshit lie. There are people who have been drumming for 5 years who couldn't play that song that tight. Let alone someone who before 30 days ago had never touched drum sticks in their life.
Seeing your random smiles in the middle of your performance on day 30 I can tell you achieved the major tip Carlos taught you - that you’re genuinely enjoying it and having fun and mesmerised by the sounds and drums This is giving me so much comfort and motivation to start picking up drums thank you!! This is such an inspiring video
The point where she realized that adding rebound to the base was the only way you could do it I laughed. As a percussionist that is the first thing you should learn, rebound and how important it is in drumming. This is amazing btw not many people have that much dedication and talent to learn what you did quickly.
@@Jonathan-gg3rj only partially fake I think, of course the audio is either heavily edited or played by someone else entirely but you can see that she's kinda doing it, which if she really started from scratch and took 30 days is quite impressive
Being a Drumeo member I was lucky to be able to follow a bit of your progress and I was really curious about the final result. I'm blown away by what you did. What I like in this video is that you show your progress, your struggles and that you give credits to the people that helped you out. But what I like even more is that you promoted the foundation "Drumming For all" that gives people with less financial room the possibility to continue their journey. In my opinion that gives your experiment a way bigger value than what it brings for you as a person. RESPECT!
Saw you on facebook but thank you again Dries! I have to say it is Carlos' program that he started, but I do agree. Everyone should have the chance to play the drums!!
Knowing how to play an instrument prior to learning a different instrument is very helpful. I learned drums first and it made learning guitar much easier, once I figured out the finger placements and muscle memory it became very easy
As a drum player, I happened to notice that after the end of the refrain, you are suppose to choke the crash symbol. It sounded like she did that, but she did not. I am sceptical this was real.
I'm usually skeptical of these "learn skill in 30 days" thing, but this looks ok. I mean, the average drummer can learn this song in a few minutes. It's not like she is playing something hard here.
I'm fairly convinced it's sample replaced. Just listen how consistent ride and hi-hat sound and look how inconsistently she plays it. The snare hits are perfectly identical, no matter where she hit the head. I'm completely sure she actually played the piece, but we definitely don't get to hear it (not only in the end part). Me confused
30 days?! As a drummer, I know it is very hard to build a feel for drumming. I mean you already sound like an advanced drummer, hitting the fills, hitting the stops, waiting for the stops, and the groove in your body. Wow, just wow. Hope you continue to learn tho...😊
@@hovergaming3403not wanting to troll you btw. You are 13? Who cares! Let's be honest, the market place of music that you should want to belong to is the one that enjoys your musicality and performances. Imagine yourself in thirty years time and someone shows you a talented drummer at 13 years of age with the statement"and he's only thirteen!". Would you not after all your time dedicated to your growth on your instrument not feel even a little that the criteria you wish to judge music by has nothing to do with the age of the performer even in the slightest. Imagine if I said were to celebrate your drumming and music now but always premise my commentary about you with a mentioning of your age? Won't you feel like I'm skimming over the fact that you are a musical talent and am using an external novelty factor as some kind of way to diminish your actual musical talents that transcend your age? When you are thirty will you look back and say, I was a brilliant 13 year old drummer and the next generation of 13 year olds are making my 30 year old self feel inadequate.,? I'm glad you are brilliant at such a young age. As a much older veteran, and I have no doubt you surpass my skills right now, I'm happy to advise you to transcend the age thing. When you are thirty like me you'll continue your passion and growth and no person or peer of your could ever show you a drummer much younger than will make you re examine your own abilities. Drop the age thing, miles Davis didn't play better in his youth and the public don't care about age when your music is great! You'll benefit from my advise. Own your drumming as your own voice and skill, your age of what makes you proud will make you quit when you are fifty because you began to think music is a Young's persons game. If that were true then explain away the rolling stones continued success today. Be your you g age now. Be older self years later. The constant should be your passion and knowledge growth. Please believe me on this
Way to go! Been drumming for almost 30 years and this is not the first song I'd tell people to learn. However.... why aren't we hearing your actual drumming in the end? or... if we are, why is there another track overlaid that is MUCH louder than your drumming? You clearly know the song well enough (a few cymbal hits missing here and there, that were in the audio?) so... I say be proud of what you learned to do within 30 days instead of hiding it.
Sounds like the audio feed is not this playthrough. It sounds like her electric kit. That and there are no mics on the kit at the end ;) But yeah, waaaaay easier to record and overlay for the video than a full drum mix.
This whole thing really doesn't sit well with me. I have been drumming a lot of years and one thing that could never be developed in 30 days is the pocket, tightness and dynamics/feel that we hear in this recoding. Now she may have recorded with her electric kit with samples but over all it's just to polished to be presented as authentic. Even visually her technique is not at a level that would allow for what we hear. I say all this not to trash her but to point out that once again we have an idea that someone can just go out and be great. How many kids or even adults look at this and think they can go and do the same thing only to be disappointed and left feeling worthless. I guess what I am saying is, show us the mistakes and/or changes that needed to be made, with the kick for instance. Given your 30day window you clearly learned a lot and did a great job working with what you had. just be real!
As someone who has been playing most of their life, I found it incredibly interesting to watch you teach yourself from scratch. A lot of the issues you encountered are ones that I've come up against countless times before, and it was very inspiring seeing you overcome them on your own!
@@tinkerdrums5958 on top of that in 9:13 there's a crash but she isn't hitting it lol, saddest thing is she doesn't look that bad I think she almost actually did it, would've been better to make it more then 30 days and actually nail it lol
@@tinkerdrums5958 also another weird thing was she was playing the snare wayyyy too high and her hands looked not comfy at all to spread out which I think a teacher should point that out since it's literally 2 minutes but idk
cool way to say that this recording is totally fixed by the studio, since the hits and the sound doesn't match through the whole song. Also the sound produced by the technique used is imposible to achieve in any case, it seems triggered. Anyway for 30 days it is a great job (for what its seen, not for what its heard)
I love the triple bass kicks that you only hear the double of. You can see she's not able to control the spring back on those double hits and it's chattering at least one more time.
I am absolutely floored that you were able to get to that level in only 30 days. Now that you are officially a drummer, I hope you continue to enjoy that and make it a part of your life. I've been playing almost 50 years now and it continues to bring me great pleasure. Kudos.
I want to start now and I’m 28. I’ve dabbled with music since I was like 14 and have a strong sense of rhythm and whatnot, but nervous I might be too far along in life to not be able to learn 😅💀
You are never too old to learn. My daughter, who is your age, started playing guitar in the last year and will be performing at a festival this weekend. I've known a number of people who picked up an instrument at an age older than you and have gone on to make great music. Playing music is just listening to music in reverse. If you have good musical taste, then you should be able to pick up the simple skills to get it out of an instrument.
Same! Bought a kit last March... haven't played an instrument since I was a kid. Making slow progress... but I play almost every day and I'm having fun. I'm pretty much crap but the goal was to learn to read drum music and have fun drumming. I have drum sticks tucked away all over the house and drum pads too.
I noticed that at around 9:07, the sound of the crash suddenly stops, but she do not grab the plate and when she hits it again produces a completely different sound. This happens twice during the song. just saying.
It was not, this video is fake. She does a fill here 10:33, and you ear a floor tom, not the first one that she hits, and the snare roll sounds completely diferent from the hand movement. Plus, she is riding that ride on the edge, you can see the cymbal swervling everywhere, which would make a lot of noise, but you still ear that clean in throught the whole song. And has you mention, there are some cymbal chokes that she does not grab. Either this is a complete different person playing, or, it's heavly edited on post production.
I've been a self taught drummer for over 20 years, it's been quite a while since I've played with any groups, but I've tried practicing via drum pad and finally got an electric kit earlier this year. But watching this video got me to join drumeo, because I'm definitely not a beginner but I've never felt like an expert, I primarily just played by ear. Excellent video, thank you 👍
As a drummer myself i need to say i'm impressed that you've amcomplished this in 30 days in which most of the people i teach take months to learn songs like this. it's nice to see someone with no experience in drums do learn it in 30 days and that makes me proud of you! keep up the good work :)
Lods its like she knows how ti play ay guest bec in the middle of the video she tells that she knows how to play the pianoso iys follow all i know it when you know to play other intruments you also other intruments thats whats i know bc i play guitar then i know i play drumz a little bit....
If you were an actual drummer you would notice the flaws and realize how fake this video is. She has no mics, her acoustic drum set is set up way differently than the electric, there's a symbol hit that she did not dude but still played, and that right symbol sounded a little too crisp you can tell she was hitting that shit like crazy
I love how you break things down into parts to work on each part, and I appreciate the extra information you give on amount of time spent learning, etc. The tips I get from your videos apply to a lot of other activities in addition to whatever you're working on this month.
I honestly cant believe that this is you playing in the ending. It just sounds too perfekt for only 30 days, I couldnt hear one note being off. If that's really you playing, this is the best compliment I can give you.
She is not. Look how she hits the ride and how the ride sounds. Also how she hits the snare. A snare hit like that would never produce that focused sound. And there’s an audio cymbal choke that never happened on camera.
lol you got 7 years and still cant see or hear, its dubbed over and faked, you can tell by the cymbal choke sound but no cymbal was choked in the video, or the sizzle sound of the hat thats opened way to high to get the sound, or even the cymbal hit sound that was not video, i also read the description and i dont by it.. based on me playing for i dont even know how many years close to 20 i think? the high hat wide open sound and the sloppy arms giving off the dynamics of the cymbal and high hat its just so faked, also i know this was a promo for drumeo, not saying that you cant get good in 30 days cause i was able to play this good after a couple days, but ia lso have a talent for it and other musical background stuff
I love these "Learn it in 30 days" videos because it give me hope on trying something all my life, things I always wanted to do since childhood when it was time or financial consuming, also words from my parents that "you don't get a lot of pay doing that!". Now growing up and have my whole income and place, I can really give it a try! I don't really care if I would last, I'm not doing it for a career, but at least I can tell myself "Yeah, I did that!"
Im a drummer for 13years (I'm 23) this video is a scam, she does not know to drum, only learned to play this very song, but you can tell from her hand movements that she is not hitting the drums the way it sounds, she only imitates it, so its another person playing it (she does not even have a mic above her and the sounds are professional). Its like you upload a video where you lip sync to a song...
@@adamnemethofficial3095 Thank you for pointing that out. But like I said, I'm not doing it for a career, my outcome may even be "Nah, it's not my thing after all", but at least I found my answer and move on. Don't you have friends who pulling their hair out saying "Man! I wish I did that xxxx!!", I don't wanna be that guy. Thank you for your comment because I'm a non-musician, so being that, I don't know anyone who play any kind of music instruments, so it's good hearing from an expert. Cheers!🍻
@Yep Sauce thats the best insult you got? Ok, note the most obvious give away that this audio isn't what she's playing. The cymbals have mutes, she didn't do them. I've been playing drums for 6 years.
I started playing the drums when I was 12 and only played for a year. I then didn't play for 10 years, until I watched this video. I'd always had the desire to pick it up again but never "got around to it". This video was what got me started again! I'm now two months into playing the drums again, and I am LOVING IT! Can't thank you enough for giving me the last push I needed to start again, and for making it seem achievable :))
Seriously impressive. You're giving me not just a goal to shoot for, but a pattern of learning that actually seems achievable. Thanks for a great inspiration.
The fact that she got used to probably playing in metronome, getting her own groove and natural rhythm. That’s impressive. I hope she continues to play the drums
There's something extremely sus about the final performance, though. No microphones visible, killer sound, groove and consistency on a professional level, hihat and ride sounded much more delicately and dynamically played than what it looked like. What's going on there?
I love how inspiring your videos are! Your drawing video actually encouraged me to start after years of wanting to learn and I bought a copy of the book you recommended. I’ve also always wanted to learn an instrument, so maybe I’ll try following a similar method as yours. You put so much work into your videos and they come out so well! Thanks for making such great content!
THANK YOU. I was losing hope in doing the drums but seeing this video gave me hope to play again thank you a million for giving the courage I needed to play again
As a drummer myself, I am impressed that she learned in 30 days. When I was learning the drums, I was 6 years old and I never had a teacher and basically taught myself everything 😂 Edit: I’m currently 15 years old :) Edit 2: I forgot I commented this but I’m 18 now haha
Yoo! I started when i was 5 and 1/2 ish and there is no way she played that. At 9:13 there was crash hit but she did not hit it. She could not play that well in 30 days, i think its either fake or heavily edited.
I was left speechless watching your skills on day 30. Simply wow! Not only did you kick a$$ performing the song, but you looked so happy doing it too! This video totally made my day.
I've played drums on and off for years. I have rythem but I struggle so much technical stuff as well as fills and flams. Watching this really has inspired me to try and actually LEARN the drums instead of just playing them. Thanks for all your awesome work!
i'm going to be fully honest, i was not expecting you to play well at all after only 30 days. my jaw dropped the moment you started playing. hats off to you, this was amazing
Seeing her smile at the end, while she’s playing the song makes me happy for her you can tell she’s enjoying her accomplishment❤️ I’m happy for her, and only in 30 days? That’s impressive
This lady is INCREDIBLE all her 40k subs aren't her begging for subs and its legitimate people interested in her content. I think this is one of the rarest things in a youtuber.
I had biggest smile on my face when you showed us the final performance. It looked like you were having a lot of fun. 🥁 I am a mom now and realized that my daughter is going to learn by behavior and I can’t ask her to try to learn something I’ve never tried myself. So my goal is to learn to play an instrument for the first time and I’ve chosen the drums. Thank you for the inspiration✨ (Maybe I’ll document my journey too🤗)
You earned a sub this is some high quality content, and these are some very good methods to study and learn something, I'll take with me into my next hobby or project. Mad respect and can't wait to see what's next
As a drummer you did amazing! Learning this in only 30 days take major patience! The fact you figured out the bass issue and corrected it. Most don’t think outside the box when it comes to small things like that. Keep it going! You’ll be a pro in no time!
I'm a bass player, and am in awe of how you managed this in just 30 days. You've inspired me to get drum lessons, I won't get to where you did in 30 days, but I'm going for it. Keep up the drumming, you will improve and get to master other tracks - try "Time is running out" by Muse.
I could clearly tell the audio wasn't form the kit. Hearing accents on the hihat when none are played, crashing the ride but still hearing that clear tip of the stick ride sound, very inconsistent hitting of the snare, and at 9:13 you can even hear the crash without you even touching it. And the most obvious thing: *where the mic's at?* You don't really think people would believe this? (oh wait just checked the other comments and damn you got 'm fooled) I honestly think you wouldn't be that bad if you really recorded yourself but this is kinda cheap. It isn't very weird that if you practiced on an electric kit it would be very different and difficult to actually hit the right intonation on a real kit (like with the ride), but c'mon try to be fair and actually show your true progression, especially after putting in all that effort of practicing. edit: removed some words for grammar purposes
Thank god I’m not the only one who noticed. Her electric kit didn’t even have the percussion the acoustic kit in the end had. She went from throwing drum sticks to playing over 160 BPM on an entirely new and different kit. Nothing but a Drumeo sponsorship.
@@tiredandbored909 I still think this is BS. I know how midi drums work and I honestly believe this is just a midi-file playing instead of her re-recording. First of all to react to her info in the description, I think you mean this part right: " If you have good eyes, you'll notice I had to re-record the ending audio and overlay it. It IS me playing, but courtesy of thin studio walls = bad audio, I don't own any of those fancy mics, and I'm working on a shoestring budget here, please forgive me trying to save money woohoo" She says she needed to re-record because of low budget, then how the f did she get the audio so good? If you'd honsetly only have cheap mics, it would sound way crappier than this. But this sounds better than some other live recordings I've heard of semi-pro's. Then some more arguments why I believe it to be midi: I don't know anybody who could do this in a single month, getting all hits on point like she did. If you look at the way she plays, you can see that the hits would never be as clean as they are in the played audio. Or she got 100x better between first recording and re-recording. Just like how I don't believe her orchestration of hits, like the extra crash hits you hear but don't see. I don't believe she taught herself those hits in the short time she would've had between recording sessions. When you look at her use of the ride cymbal: she clearly hits it on the edge with the sid of the stick, creating a different sound than you hear, and again, I don't believe she changed her way of playing so drastically between sessions that she can now suddenly hit with the tip very consistently... Her hihat hits in the video were also not accented like what you could hear in the audio, with every first hit louder than the second. Another thing would be the cymbal-grabs you can hear but not see (9:08), but again, I don't beileve she suddenly started doing that during the re-recording. I could go on for a while with examples like this, some more techical than other so I won't. I just think it is a bit of a scam acting better than you are. As someone who has recorded his own drumming quite a lot, I know how terrible it feels when you record yourself and it sounds shite, but putting out fake results will probably only discourage people trying to do the same but not being able to reach the same level in the same time. I understand you want to make content for people who don't know drums and I know beginner drums sound shite in their ears but if you would've put up your own audio, I'm sure the drummers in your audience would still appreciate the efforts (Cause I also believe that it looked like you could actually play, the question now remains, how well?) p.s. if she re-recorded audio, she could've re-recorded video as well right? or put a statement in the video? p.s.s. I challenge Kize to re-re-record the video & audio as proof, then upload the video without the music, only the drums. I don't need the best audio quality, telling how good someone is is very possible as long as the dynamics are a bit hearable and there are no audiospikes. (even putting a phone on the other side of the room will probably do the trick)
I’m a drummer and have been for several years and I’m not just saying this but I genuinely have watched professional perform that don’t have as good timing as you.
As a drummer, I am very impressed with how fast you picked up considering you had only 30 days! Especially Runaway Baby. I learned it a year ago and it took 4 months to nail it. You took 1! Moving forward I would just say that you’re elbows were a little too high. That can get your arms tired. Otherwise, it was amazing. The coordination, fills, rhythm and timing was good considering that you learned these skills only in 30 days! Amazing ❤
LOVE LOVE LOVE this!!! I drummed in high school and learned the basics. But watching your face go from nervous to complete enjoyment at the end was such a joy to see! Hope you keep it up. Great aerobic exercise and stress relief!
Wow. This showed up in my recommended feed and I don’t regret watching it all the way through. I’m proud of you and this inspired me to start looking into getting a kit. I’ve had a musical background, but never got to play drums. I think it’s time.
Do it! I've been a singer for over 15 years and have an extensive musical background. But drumming pushed me to my limits, and challenged me in ways I couldn't imagine. Learning to play was the best decision I ever made! It's such a fun journey.
Omg, the progress you made in your first few days made my eyes go wise open and you've really inspired me to Jam out again, cause nothing beats that feeling when you're jamming out and able to hit every dang note, good job, that was sick👊👍🙌🙌
You killed it!! That was so inspiring to watch. I’m debating picking up drums because it looks so fun and I think learning it would be satisfying. Curious if you still play drums now that the challenge is over? Awesome video!
Hello I have been learning drums for 5 years and you being able to do this in 30 days is absolutely incredible! I have a couple tips though when hitting the drums try using the movement in your wrist not your whole arm! Well done!
Thanks for your videos! In January I began to paint because of your channel and now have 9 paintings in my collection, began drawing human anatomy and started learning pure mathematics. You're awesome, I hope your channel grows exponentially!
I started playing drums yesterday and i can only practice/learn them for 30 days. I was worried about how less of a time that this is. Now i have higher expectations from myself about what can i do in 30 days! ❤

OMG, that was SO cool ! You rock, (literally!!) I’ve always wanted to play drums and you are so inspiring to dedicate yourself to accomplishing that in 30 days! Like you, I also have good rhythm and a little background in music, so I feel encouraged that if I devoted the time, I could maybe get close to actually drumming along with a song too, thank you! 😃❤️
Some people might never just learn the drums if they don't have a sense of rhythm. But some people like myself are born with drumming skills. I had never played a kit before, just slapping my hands on my knees while listening to music. Then I got the chance to play my friends kit and it felt like walking, it was so natural for me.
@@LanceWillMakeIt somewhat yeah, but take Meg White for example. She was the drummer for white stripes and never learned to play correctly in 15 years. Also there were kids in my music class who never just couldn't play a simple beat. Some people just don't get it. You have to use all 4 limbs at the same time. It's like flying a helicopter.
@@Reinonordinn i hear you, but really they just didn't practice properly - read/listen to effective practice for musicians by Benny Greb if you're interested in the topic and yeah i suppose maybe some people can't practice properly, but i believe that has more to do with how much they're motivated to become better in the first place, rather than some mental deficiency for musicality/rhythm
When I was play the drums at the first time, I just thinking that when you playin' the drums, both hands and feet has their own soul and do they own job. And I hit it very well after a week later.
Just like all the other drummers in the comments, I have to say: Really impressive and it's clear you're doing an amazing job with this, especially for just 30 days. But: I would have much preferred to hear the audio from your own playing at the end, even if it wasn't as smooth as the audio we got.
@@oj214I don't know if I'd call it cheating, but the audio from the last take has nothing to do with the video you're seeing. The accentuation on the hi-hat in the beat doesn't match her hand movements, crash hits are misaligned etc. In the video description she says she re-recorded the last take with her e-kit because the audio from the session on the Gretsch kit was bad, but kept the video footage because it looked good. I honestly would have preferred bad audio or less pretty footage.
Great content! Though you missed the crash on your overlay 9:14. You really have put on a huge amount of time and effort on this. Congratulations! And again great job!
Giirrrllllll!!! That was INCREDIBLE! I'm almost in tears - I just started learning the drums and feel like such an awkward beginner, but your video inspired me to hang in there. Seeing the determination and all the practice pay off makes me feel like it'll happen for me too.

YOU are what RUclips and internet should be about. You are complete opposite of todays tiktokers and all the Kardashians of this world. CLASS, TALENT and INSPIRATION. INCREDIBLE!
U know what is really interest me to play drums is, you gotta feel the beat inside your head, going down into your body, then it is like, every single muscle in your hand, foot, movin around and rhyme with the beat. Its just like you nod your head over and over when hearing a song... Like... damn... Dancing and moving the body with the drum is unbeatable sensation. Congratulations, lad. You will never feel the same again when you enjoy the music beat, your hand and foot will beat for sure.
Good Job on learning in such a short amount of time. Im a self taught drummer too and been playing for 13 years. For anyone confused in the clean sound I think as she played on a studio, it is heavily edited. She was still playing the beats but you notice at someparts that some bits were missed e.g. 9.57 when the crash is choked but it dont look like she choked it. Apart from that she did a great job

She could’ve recorded on her electric kit then played on the acoustic kit for the final performance
i noticed that too. she was also hitting the ride towards the edge which would’ve had a crash build up sort of sound and some of the sixteenth notes were a little out of sync but still was cool to see someone have motivation to do something and go through with it

I hate how most people believe that she was the one actually playing the drums in the final part. it looks like you can play decently, but don't put the drums from the actual song as your own. I know most people in this comment section don't know how to play the drums so they can't really tell that the last part is synced. Here are some give aways:
9:07 she hit the symbol normally, but the sound was a choke,
9:13 she didn't actually hit the symbol,

I know right it is very disapointing of her
to do it in less takes i'm assuming, her hits look a little weird so her dynamics may just not be up to cuff thought to say
Sounds like the audio feed is not this playthrough. It sounds like her electric kit. That and there are no mics on the kit at the end ;) But yeah, waaaaay easier to record and overlay for the video than a full drum mix.
She talked about it the the box thing

I've known a number of people who picked up an instrument at an age older than you and have gone on to make great music. Playing music is just listening to music in reverse.
Yep, fake. The snare also self-adds hits she never played. Around 9:47 for example
Yea keep up the good work but you fr need to work on your stick height bc there is no need to do full strokes with a pretty fast tempo like that
that the power of audio and video editing
@@austinbeckwith7803 right? That's exactly what I thought she was holding it so high it was annoying me plus her hands look to spread out
I love how you break things down into parts to work on each part, and I appreciate the extra information you give on amount of time spent learning, etc.
I'm a drummer for about 7 years now and I gotta say it was so fun watching you do this in sach short time and also you play really good
lol you got 7 years and still cant see or hear, its dubbed over and faked, you can tell by the cymbal choke sound but no cymbal was choked in the video, or the sizzle sound of the hat thats opened way to high to get the sound, or even the cymbal hit sound that was not video, i also read the description and i dont by it.. based on me playing for i dont even know how many years close to 20 i think? the high hat wide open sound and the sloppy arms giving off the dynamics of the cymbal and high hat its just so faked, also i know this was a promo for drumeo, not saying that you cant get good in 30 days cause i was able to play this good after a couple days, but ia lso have a talent for it and other musical background stuff
Cheers!🍻
I want to be as cool as you when I grow up 😩

What's going on there?
real
@@finchace3468 Ffs, there's even an invisble cymbal choke at 9:58

Seeing her smile at the end, while she’s playing the song makes me happy for her you can tell she’s enjoying her accomplishment❤️
I’m happy for her, and only in 30 days? That’s impressive

As someone who just started up the E-Drums, i needed this to inspire me! Thank you
As a drummer you did amazing!
So how did it go?
Good luck!
for some reason, this urged me to learn to play the drums. Anyway ROCK OUT FAM🖤
This audio is faked, I've been playing drums for 6 years and its clearly not what she played.
My favorite thing about bruno is he writes everything in his music himself
WOW 😳 just felt like being on a concert! 🎉 Your challenges and videos are SO inspiring, thank you for the motivation! ❤
(oh wait just checked the other comments and damn you got 'm fooled)
I honestly think you wouldn't be that bad if you really recorded yourself but this is kinda cheap.
It isn't very weird that if you practiced on an electric kit it would be very different and difficult to actually hit the right intonation on a real kit (like with the ride), but c'mon try to be fair and actually show your true progression, especially after putting in all that effort of practicing.
edit: removed some words for grammar purposes
Agreed. The drums at the end literally sound like an electric kit over the video of her playing
Bingo
Thank god I’m not the only one who noticed. Her electric kit didn’t even have the percussion the acoustic kit in the end had. She went from throwing drum sticks to playing over 160 BPM on an entirely new and different kit. Nothing but a Drumeo sponsorship.
Please read the description
@@tiredandbored909 I still think this is BS. I know how midi drums work and I honestly believe this is just a midi-file playing instead of her re-recording.
First of all to react to her info in the description, I think you mean this part right: " If you have good eyes, you'll notice I had to re-record the ending audio and overlay it. It IS me playing, but courtesy of thin studio walls = bad audio, I don't own any of those fancy mics, and I'm working on a shoestring budget here, please forgive me trying to save money woohoo"
She says she needed to re-record because of low budget, then how the f did she get the audio so good? If you'd honsetly only have cheap mics, it would sound way crappier than this. But this sounds better than some other live recordings I've heard of semi-pro's.
Then some more arguments why I believe it to be midi:
I don't know anybody who could do this in a single month, getting all hits on point like she did.
I understand you want to make content for people who don't know drums and I know beginner drums sound shite in their ears but if you would've put up your own audio, I'm sure the drummers in your audience would still appreciate the efforts (Cause I also believe that it looked like you could actually play, the question now remains, how well?)
p.s. if she re-recorded audio, she could've re-recorded video as well right? or put a statement in the video?
As she said, it's probably the fact she's also a piano player that helped he timing be on point
the last clip is fake, in the description it does say she re recorded it but I still think its not her
It's not her
obviously it's not her playing ..
Except... It's not her playing at the end.
As a drummer, I am very impressed with how fast you picked up considering you had only 30 days! Especially Runaway Baby. I learned it a year ago and it took 4 months to nail it. You took 1! @@oj214I don't know if I'd call it cheating, but the audio from the last take has nothing to do with the video you're seeing. The accentuation on the hi-hat in the beat doesn't match her hand movements, crash hits are misaligned etc.
