"Top Secret" is probably the biggest "flash" drum corps out there. They're a show, more than a conventional drum corps, and travel around the world performing at tattoos and the like. The lovely hats, meanwhile, is from their heritage. They're from Basel in Switzerland, and the origin is from the Basler Fasnacht, an annual carnival-type show.
You see that short of 'how to get fired from a drumming gig' and as there's a break before the singer comes in he hits this loony tunes anvil drop hit 'donk!' and the singer can't breathe. Dude's a legend for that clip. The drummer just trolls the band through the performance like a wrestler trying to get another to break character.
I don't know how the singer kept it together as well as he did. I would have lost it. That cartoon noise would have killed me. What's funnier is the drummer's smile when the singer starts laughing.
You asked in the final clip what a Stylophone was. It was a small battery-powered device very popular here in the UK around 1967. It was promoted on TV here by the late Rolf Harris, a HUGE star in the UK who was later jailed for 12 counts of indecent assault on girls and women. So here we can't disassociate it from him! Which is a shame,
If you liked the hammered dulcimer check out Botanist. Back in the 80s I was at a club, watching this rock band doing covers, I was really impressed by the drummer, I was playing for a living, so I knew a good drummer.
