I’m 72, been around drums and drummers my whole life and in my opinion El Estepario Siberiano is the best drummer of all time and probably for a long time coming. He reinvented drumming
This man has helped me realize that I don't always have to play my covers so close to the original song. I'm obviously nowhere near his level, but I'm not afraid to deviate a bit from the original if I feel like it works
Learning to do this on piano was 100x easier. Instead of hearing some sevant’s rendition, I just figured out the melody, understood what notes HAD to be played and when, and then allowed my own melody to come out of it :)
He gives me hope that innovation and showing what you can do when you are so depressed with life you want to end it all -- and just come up with the best you can do -- and you see this in someone else's life -- to inspire the rest of us. That was his life story. Just giving us his best - without the ego that goes with having a band that got to be a success. Innovation is still alive.
2:25 The first time I watched this, I didn't even see him grab the second stick. It was like a magic trick. And it disappears just as fast. He starts with two in his belt. Suddenly, there's one there. Suddenly, there's none there. When I finally saw the sleight of hand on re-watching... damn. He's truly something else.
1:46 no, the third drumstick is already used because he uses them on the cymbal. In the beginning he got 2 drumsticks in his pants. Watch from @ 1:30 on how he grabs one to play those cymbal "double" strokes.
Like a magician! Amazing the way he tossed his drum stick from his left hand to his right hand and grabbed the stick from his waist with his left hand and now has two sticks in his right hand and one in his left hand and now is playing up and down on the symbol with his right hand never missed a beat with his right hand or his left hand or his right foot or his left foot No I'm not going to add punctuation or capitalisation or indentation definitely not abbreviations This guy is freaking amazing
I was actually doing this cross stick roll on a stick technique sometimes when I was playing but no body ever heard of that in my small town so everyone thought I was weird, I just loved the way it sounded so I tried to incorporate it sometimes, but eventually had to faze it out cause others didnt know how to play with it lol
@@jasonknotts5001 You obviously don't know Saratoga, right? Why would you do it if it is "only" a Spanish heavy metal band founded in 1992 and recognized as one of the best in the 21 Spanish-speaking countries (550 million inhabitants)??? This was the last band that El Estepario was in before returning to its RUclips format and later creating his own band (The Cost). Maybe you should educate yourself better before opening your mouth.
@@Floren_Andro no one I know has heard of that band. They're obviously not super popular internationally. Good video. Also something interesting to me, he's got a half Scottish and half of some NA accent. It's similar to one I put on here in Finland so people can understand what I say xD.
You've got to check out how his creativity and his musicality has his sticks singing/rapping with Eminem's Godzilla. Then check out Baddadan too. I'll bet you're going to watch and study each one like ten times. You see something new each time. Watch this video ten times and you'll know what I mean. Don't blink!!!
Bro started with two sticks in his waistband and grabbed one to do the up and down on the symbol. So fast you missed it. Threw it away and grabbed the fourth stick later to do the same.
If you haven't seen his "cover" of Eminem 's - Godzilla you should it blew my mind & I'm a metal guy too . He came up with a couple new tricks in that one as well
@@SteveOGRock I never heard it before I saw his video so I can't really say - however I know you won't be disappointed either way ( your preference) his power ,speed & creativity is on another level & I've probably seen close to 100 of his videos
I'd also love to hear your opinion of him doing "Toxicity " by System of a Down on a handpan drum - not really being familiar with the handpan it was one of the coolest things I've seen (& beautiful)
For the longest time it's always been on my mind as to why he hasn't joined/started a band yet. He clearly has the talent - but its likely he might make more money from content creation than he would by being in a band. I do wonder if any big bands have actually hit him up to drum for them though
Thanks for the video. PS. I don’t need to be able to count the hairs in your beard and then only squint at your featured drummer. Otherwise very nice. Yes, remembered when h introduced that pedal.
Yes, for the video-in-video it is unfortunately not possible to have it totally sync’d without doing some post-OBS-recording re-edit which I just don’t have time for these days.
So nice to see someone actually be blown away but enjoying the song, and not pausing for his commentary as if he's some sort of pro.

This man has made me realize I suck
Three drums and a relatively simple set of cymbals... what he creates with sets like these is amazing
Yeah that's part of what I love about him, he generally sticks to a small and humble drum kit.
Honestly I need this version on Spotify because the sound is so much warmer than the original production.
So absolutely right

His versions of songs with electronic drums are the best. Also, his audio engineering is impeccable.
Come on! He is the GOAT... that convo needs to start
Watch other drummers react to this guy. That’s a sign of being one of the best drummers on the planet. Their jaws are on the floor
His cross-stick technique is so cool! Never heard it done that way before. This was an immaculate and clean performance.👏
Immaculate is the right word ✅
Dude is too good it is insane.

Regardless -- he makes those cool songs even more SO F*CKING COOL.
Commenting before I pressed play: This is going to be a fun one, EES' version of blinding lights, reviewed by a drummer, always a crowd pleaser!

Haha loved the lack of punctuation here
You know its going to be crazy when homeboy already has two extra drumsticks locked and loaded in his waistband
I've watched this like 100X, that double bass is sick!! He changed the way drums are played this dude is badass!

What a lucky guy not having discover his massive performance on this one yet!! 😉🤩🫠

Il più grande di tutti i tempi. Per ora.🖤🖤🖤
Wonder if the weekend have seen this because it's so good
there is no doubt in my mind that El Estepario is the GOAT , untouchable.
Another great really informative reaction. Thanks!
Dude is a god
Proof that a huge drum kit is unnecessary. He does so much with what he has! Amazing!
He is the best ever drummer with no doubt. The precision, fast, and capacity, is a new era. The legend of drum seems beginner compared to him. Amazing
When you realise you will never be this good. Dude is insane
Not a third in his belt that's the fourth one! I'm always amazed how so many miss that switch.
If he doesn't go down in history as one of the bests, I'll lose all faith in music.
@@SamuelR007 music?? This is just circus act! Music is the thing he plays along with...

He has to join a band that ends up being super popular for a long time. Otherwise he will be forgotten. Just playing covers won't cut it.

I'm not a drummer, but it's almost annoying how good he is and makes it looks so easy.
He's such a great example of technique being tools in the toolbox. Yeah, he can do absolutely bananas shit, but he's MUSICAL with it.

Literally the GOAT of drumming (after Neil Peart).

I can't listen to the original when it comes on the radio without being disappointed.
Now do his cover of "Baddadan" by Chase & Status.
He doesn't drop sticks 💪
Evryone must watch , mr.Estepario when i performed drum cover of NUMB . That ' s inseine .
Did you try anything new after watching? Awesome reaction by the way. A reaction is so much better when the reactor is as knowledgeable as yourself.
Is he actually using two snares here? Can see the snare wire engagement lever on the side of the "floor tom", or maybe a internal mute?
It's not a floor tom, it's a snare drum. He's using 2 snare drums.
1:52 NO, HE HAS A 4TH DRUMSTICK IN HIS WAIST, HES ALREADY USING 3, PAL!
he have 2 in right hand drop 1 and then again he use 2 at the same time in right hand

He's in a band now.
His own band-The Cost is the name
He's been in a band for almost a year already... Is called "The Cost" and they already got 3 songs out...
He started his own band.
Your American accent is pretty impressive.
I lived in the US when I was a kid. The American accent has stuck around since then really.
I'm new to you, have you done any Ren or The Warning ?
This is a rock focussed channel so if you search my videos you will find a couple of The Warning, but you won’t find any Ren.

Yeah buddy! 👤👤👤👤
Great choice 🤘
Thats actually 2 snares
You should not ask how... you should ask WHY.
have you seen any matt maguire?
You missed the drumstick ! 😂
Yup!
El Beast is using two snares (a black snare and a gold snare) not a snare and a floor tom my friend 👍👍👍
How unusual!
@@SteveOGRockThey are different tones though, the 'floor tom' is like a bass snare
