      One of the only rigs of this type that I can think of that allows this. Drill some hooks in a wall adjacent to a door and you can cleanly hang it away. Only down-side is that the seat does not have on-the-fly inclination

    I looked at lots of different rigs, GT oemga titan, art, prime lite, SIM labs, and a few others....I had a playseat challenge which couldn't really hold a DD and I wanted a DD so that's where my journey began... Full circle, I bought a playseat trophy for £445 delivered. I had a few issues with the aluminium profile rigs, weight, needing to move them etc, and mainly the seat, I didn't want a bucket seat but I also didnt like how much the GT omega recliner seats flex. Did a lot of research and was really happy with the trophy, lots of customisation, I'm 5'11 and have it setup perfectly, Mrs who's 5'4 gets in, I just move the pedal plate forward and she's good to go. It's light so it's easy to move, it's so solid, now have a DD coming with LC, and the seat is very comfortable. Couldn't be happier and bonus is it's beautiful!

      Depends from pedal to pedal if they will fit, when turned around, the curves at both sides of the pedal plate go up instead of down, so they may be in the way of the pedal plate base to mount.

    Do you think it’s doable to fold the back of the seat forward every time you want to store it away? Or do tou think its to much off a trouble? And will the metal not withstand the constant tightening and un tightening?

      Hmm good question. I guess if there is No other way, you can unbolt it and do it, but I am not sure that you will gain that much space. Allez... its a lot of hassle I think personally. If you really need to put it away every time and store it with minimum footprint, perhaps a Challenge X would be a better choice. Not done a review of the X yet but its a Challenge where they fixed the pedals so cant be bad.

      I have heared people using 2.3Nm wheelbases on this, there are those that have 20Nm wheelbases on this. The question is more, seeing the price and the amount of flex demonstrated in the review. Can you live with it or are you allergic to flex?

      @@SimulatedDrivingResourceI saw a little bit of flex with the CSL pedals i didn't notice any for the wheel base.
      How many kg of force did you use on the pedals and which Fanatec wheel base is that and how many Nm did you run?
      I hear people say they have 20nm wheel bases and use 90kg of braking force with no flex but I don't believe them.
      You can see the flex in Will's review (Boosted Media) he used the VRS pedals with the 65kg spring and the DD1 set at 12Nm.

    @TurboZHK Год назад +5

    The Trophy is still my best option because of the smaller foot print and ease to move around. I like it a lot, BUT, this product is flawed in a few ways. 1 the flex of pedal plate, especially if you run a 2 pedals set and have the brake on the left. It will even cause the whole frame to flex a little bit. If you run a 3 pedals set or have the brake right in the middle, less problems. if your pedels doesn't come with a base, more trouble. 2. The seat is comfortable overall but it is a bit narrow around the hip area, it is not exatly narrow but the stitching line on either sides sort of pinches you a little bit. and the Actifit material is not the same Actifit on a playseat challenge, it is stronger, thicker but at the same time, much less breathable. 3. Durability, my first seat torn open in the first week, the second one is showing a little tear on the stitching lines in between hip straps and the thigh straps where the most weight and force due to braking is exerted on. Playseat will send you new seats without a problem. but after warranty expires, it will be a problem. I am 182cm tall weigh 82kg, not exactly a big guy. It is pretty good overall, but if you have the space and budge for a proper rig, get that instead.

    • @SimulatedDrivingResource
      @SimulatedDrivingResource  Год назад

      Thank you for the user experience. It is always very helpful. The pedal base is by no means flexfree. It is rather thin compared to more heavy rigs, however I do think that within its price and design-category, it is the best out there. I would indeed not recommend this plate without the base plate from the pedals like you say. For the quality of the seating area I am surprised though because I find it very Well made but I guess with the tension that it receieves, it can cause tears like you had. But what do you consider a proper rig? I would recommend a 4080 profile all day which will eliminatie the issues you have now but will also be less style, less user friendly (in terms of getting it out the way), a bigger footprint and a higher price (if you buy a frame and seat).

    • @TurboZHK
      @TurboZHK Год назад

      @@SimulatedDrivingResource If someone loves sim racing enough will end up with an aluminum profile of some kind even if he has to disassemble his bed to make space. @SimulatedDrivingResource  8 месяцев назад +1

      You are quite a lot bigger than me so its hard to recommend a seat. You saw the review of the trophy and that would be my recommendation for seat... however... the seats (particularly R12) of GT Omega are quite spacious and big...which might suit you better. They have the Art and the Titan which would suit your budget. When it comes to steering wheelbases. If you go console, I believe Fanatec is the way to go with its 8Nm ... On pc, I would opt for the CSL DD too (price!!) Actually. What I would recommend for someone of your height is a min. 30 cm wheel. I think that setup will fall in your budget and it is a decent mid-range choice. Also... for the CSL DD, look at the second hand market. People are going crazy with the new Fanatec bases and prices for the CSL are getting very low. Also Black Friday coming soon and no better day to do a bargain. Hope you have something from this.

But then there is the position of the steering wheel both in height and depth. Most configurable on-the-fly (standard) and most bang for buck at this moment is the GTO Prime Lite then... but here its bulky, not that pretty (important for a lot of women it seems) and priced a bit higher. Perhaps he tested the Trophy first and he was already warmed up. There are some variables to take into account which can explain it. I'm in a similar situation, I need to be able to move the rig multiple times per week. I wanted to get a TR80 which is a 4080 as well. But I would need to move it through a hallway and turning into the hallway I would have to elevate one side of the rig so I can swivel it on casters so it will fit. Then of course I can let it down on all 4 wheels after I've turned it. I don't mind the physicality of moving a heavy object if anything I like the challenge.
      But it's hard to know for sure what it will be like until you know. So I'm not sure if I will get a TR80 and have the hardware I want or get a Playseat Trophy and compromise the hardware for more convenience @@SimulatedDrivingResource
