Thank you so much Mr. CAt for doing a very niche vid on using a non-Acoustic Elegance/IB specific sub in IB. I'm in the standstill of either cutting out my trunk floor to use my JL 12w6 in IB or just building out my current fiberglass box and staying sealed. The biggest potential consequence I was facing was making the cut for IB then finding out my W6s just didn't work for IB (would've been bad for me considering I got them for a great deal, we both know how spendy JL is) but the issue is that there's little technical info outside of IB-specific subs so I thought id be shooting in the dark until you tested my worries in this vid. I'm gonna go ahead and make that cut!

Looking forward to your experience with this in sealed enclosure. I´ve had experience with old type x 12" in past and really liked them, i am currently in the market for something to install in spare wheel well in sedan car and this has been one option besides the newer x 12". Have done some modeling in win-isd and seems like the x would be suited for me based on it reaching much lower f3 in the size i have available for box (45L). Output wise status would need more power which is to be expected.
But since i have always been fan of the lows and lots of it, might be sacrificing some fidelity by going with Dayton RSS460HO-4 18" in same sized enclosure instead of alpine´s. Heard good things about those dayton´s atleast in smaller forms and it looks good modeled also, of course that is only in theory and have no idea if i am going to like the sound of it..
I love “Kill Shot” for showing people what DEEP bass sounds like.

Yeah, JL gear in the UK is super expensive... Same like Helix in the US.
Alpine type S has much MUCH! Better acoustical accuracy.. .
The sub itself is gorgeous, no doubts about this! I do have a small suggestion: try to adjust your voice's volume. The sound coming from the sub is low and while using headphones, we normally raise the volume a bit to properly hear the sound coming from the sub and then comes your voice. It's a huge spike in volume, in our ears. But, it's a very beautiful sub indeed!

Where did you buy this subwoofer? Also how does it compare to a JL w6? I'm curious if you think the alpine status subwoofer is worth the money. Great video!
Someone sent it to me. I would not buy this sub, as there are much cheaper alternatives around. Never had a JL sub, so can't compare.
probably de alpine is more sensitive and detailed that the big one, so better SQ probably

I really want to know how this sounds in a sealed box. I currently have a pair of pioneer premier ts-W12prs subs and a 15" JBL GTI as my 2 go to sq subs. But this sub has me wondering how it compares to those 2
That sub is not only beautiful, but sounds amazing; not easy to find in the US. Eleven inches is the perfect size for a pair in my space.

I'm not very familiar with your system, but I believe you run a small sub up front? That should fill in from roughly 50 to 80 hz, right?
I have a similer cancelation in my lincoln navigator. Any sub in the far back starts to roll off around 45hz when measured from the front seats. I've added a sealed 8" sub in the passenger footwell for the time being.
Yes, I do have a 10in in the center console to cover that gap😉

No, this sub is not designed for IB, I am just playing around🙃
Did you have measurements of that sub in a sealed box?
Not yet, need to break it in, measure the TS parameters, model and build a box.

sub sounds weak as hell lol. Smaller subs always play louder at higher frequencies compared to a 15 lol.

You are really missing the point here😄 Yes, your Sundowns will rattle everything more, no doubt about that.
