You're probably...no you are...the most humble SQ guy I've ever seen! You're not like this... is my way....the right way...and everything else sucks. You're honest and I love it. It's very refreshing. And you do SPL! I know someone heard you say 135db and they laughed. They probably said that one 18 and that's it? Yeah, just 135db.... AT 10HZ! 10HHHHZZZZ!!! LOL. Sorry. I love everything about your set up and build be as well as your character and talent. Thank you for the posts! BTW.... Here's my box for my 4, Sundown SA6.5s. I'm going to have a modular subwoofer box docking system using 3in neodymium magnets to lock the boxes in as well as to make the speaker connections. Another box will be a ported 15 in enclosure. Another will be a bandpass enclosure. The amplifier rack willl also be totally removable and will have four generations of Rockford Fosgate amplifiers. You will be able to switch between each set of complete systems during a song... hearing the differences between the generations of amps. Just trying to do something different. ruclips.net/video/ZTzAbmA-iBQ/видео.html
Thank you Justin for the kind words! I'm not master of car audio either, but you can tell it's my main passion and don't want to deal with anything else for the rest of my life! I truly believe that sharing is learning, so we can all learn from each other! I learn something everyday too! By the way your Fb link doesn't work for some reason! :S
First time I seeing your videos and man love your work. I like car audio as an internamente but I can’t do anything like you. 👏👏👏🏆 What’s the air space the FI has. Jest wondering
You should do a build on Ford F-150 truck because I have four fi ib3 18 V2 which will take it down to 1/2 ohm stable I have a 3200 Lanzar optidrive half ohm amplifier I'm kind of confused on how will I mount the subs in a infinite baffle configuration with a blow through through my truck bed
GRADY CRISLER that’s simple, just build a rock solid baffle, preferably welded and cut the existing wall out so the subs can breathe into the cabin! 🤘🔊🔊
Amazing IB setup. I'm listening to this video through my home dual 18 inch IB and the low bass is great. I've been thinking about ficar ib3v2. 4 magnet stack , huge venting. Almost nobody has bass this deep in auto world, good stuff.
Whats the name of the frequency app you used. Back in the mid 90s i had two lanzar lp 15 in a 12cuft box tuned to 25hz and powered by a kenwood 1020 amp, i think about 500 watt rms, people would flip coins on there roof, i would flip cds in a 50 cd case lol. Im no expert but ive always loved low bass 😊👍
Hi Tony, The App is called Signal Generator, the Pro version, so you can play in infra range too. The fact that this IB setup can be loud on the very lows is just a bonus, but the best thing is that you don’t notice it being in the back of the car, it just blands in and can make a big surprise with the right soundtracks or videos! 😃
What are the components of your mount? I think in another video I saw a square black bracket underneath? Is it made of metal? I would like to see the details of how you assembled everything.
It’s 2 8mm/ 1/3” steel frame sandwiching the floor pan together and all welded as one piece, so it’s a 18mm frame now for fixing any structure on it. The more solid, the better! Have a look at this page for all the build pictures: m.facebook.com/pssounddemoproject/ Check out the other videos as well for more info! 😉
Nice setup, great videos, and informative! If I were able to ask you one question it would be, "Could I put two 18 fi ib3's in my cars trunk, right behind the back seat." lol. I remember hearing if the trunk area isn't 10x the Vas of just one speaker, than its not a true IB? I really just want spl and 18's, so as long as I'm not damaging the equipment and it'll sound fine, I +want to do it... Then I can still use the trunk for groceries and stuff, but try to keep it empty most of the time? Would really appreciate your input on this one. I haven't found the proper answer to this.
Check out the Subaru Imreza build on the channel, i just did exactly that 😃🔊🔊 It still played down to sub 20 just as fine and you have plenty of Xmax to play with.
So if I was to utilize the fi IB sub in a trunk baffle rather than a true infinite baffle configuration, would I be able to pick up above 40hz? I'd like to get up to around 60-80hz as I will not have a dedicated midbass driver. Do you think I would I be better served using a sealed or even ported enclosure for my needs? Thanks for your time. I enjoy your vids & the teaching behind them thoroughly.
Hi, In my case the rear sub doesn’t play any higher due to the acoustic characteristics of the car, not the type of the sub application. I still had the same effect when i had a box in the trunk. This is why i always start with a box just dropped into the trunk, so first i can identify what the car does. No matter what you do, you can’t fight physics. This way i can save the headache and lots of money by doing the right install the first time. It would certainly be interesting to try a similar true IB setup in like a small hatchback and see what that’s like. All these things are true for a trunk baffle setup too. I can’t predict whether the low lows would be just as good as the higher bass range. Car audio is very challenging and needs lots of testing to get the absolute best! I’ve got 3,5years in this build in the video! :D
Pssound thanks for the response & insight, it's greatly appreciated. I just purchased the vehicle in July & am about to begin my sq journey coming from the basshead side of car audio.
Funnily i’ve just posted the following in a forum and it can be used here too: Having a high quality front end, that stages and gives you holographic image of the band in front of you is magical! The better the front end the more you learn to listen to music on a lower level. I guess it’s a bit like SEX! 😳😃 Let’s say your system is Megan Fox (just cuz most people know who she is and would take her for a ride🤪). So, i’m sure you’d appreciate having quality, romantic time with her on an exotic 🌴 more often, but it’s still good to be able to BANG at times!? 😂
I'm actually active in that thread (Chuck McCleery). I've spent the last few hrs watching your vids trying to gain insight & knowledge for use in my daily vehicle SQ project, lol.
Haha, brilliant! 😃 Go to the gallery of the @pssounddemoproject Fb page and start from chapter one. I have description by the pics too, so it helps to understand what and why i did, also, what mistakes i did at times. I’m going to start a series of videos hopefully this month explaining the rest of the system, like why i needed a front sub, dash build, etc, etc.
I'd build a simple, plywood, IB manifold, open at the bottom and firing downwards. With an IB318 fixed on edge, each side of the box. This would curtail your extreme cone excursion, halve the distortion, kill all mechanical vibration, reduce cone sag over time and considerably increase output. Albeit at twice the price for your drivers and a wider installation but only another £300/$300. ;-)
Excellent setup and clean install. I'm more of a ground pounding bass head myself. I run a pair of Fi BL10s and a Sp4 12in. In all its close to 6k watts. Regular music sounds great but when I put on the spl music it gets down.
I like loud bass you can feel . I can not stand to hear rattling . or buzzing . its hard to have both. from what I heard . your system sounds awesome!!!
What is the first song playing in the video while you talk about the 18? I've tried to Shazam, but you talk too much. :) I'd actually like to see your playlists of this style of music if at all possible. I know you use JayZ's music streaming service though, where I use Spotify.

I still have Spotify, but I finally broke down and tried Tidal HIFI 2 weeks ago... Huge difference. I don't want to pay $20 a month for it, but I think I'm going to have to. =( On the other hand, you can link me up! I like female vocals over techno/dubstep like that Yuna song. Nero is my favorite. Basically any bassy song that sounds great, I can't deny. I just don't do rap.
resonantevol Yeah, sure, i can always share playlists! You’ll get hooked quickly and you won’t regret that 20/month. Worth more than a bottle of drink! :D

This one was just a short lived experiment.
who's the artist playing in the background while he talks
What song is this and what remix
How high up can the AE SBP15 play in a trunk baffle setup? Thanks
Trunk baffle can play upto 100-120Hz easily, whereas true-IB in a trunk usually stops at 50Hz.
