Hey guys. I accidentally said that the cables were made by Lutro0 when they were in fact made by Sanctum Sleeving. Sorry about that.
+JayzTwoCents Hey Jay, nice vid as always. I have a question for ya, did you sanitize the PC cooling loop before ? I think the "gunk" may possibly be organic's from bactierial growth, you know H2O based fluid + light + warmth = bactierial growth over time. If it wasn't pre sanitized and the new cooling liquid of choice also put into a double boiler and boiled prior to installation. (like a baby bottle) doing this will greatly help reduce this issue. Oh yeah, if you have a thermal thermometer gun, you can get the system up and running and take the temperature @ different areas. you know just for the "non-believers." ;) Happy Holidays too!
+JayzTwoCents Hey Jay! Hope Linus doesn't think Skunk Works' new colors are an homage to him and his company...lol. I have to say it looks AWESOME! I would've like to see what nickel plated graphic card back plates looked like in the system too. But it is sweet as is.
+JayzTwoCents I actually went on sanctums Facebook to make sure i was not crazy when i saw him post the new cables. Killing me smalls! By the way i used Sanctum for all my cables because of the last skunkworks build and the work is top notch.
+erogone mc - Wouldn't have thought that should even be necessary if the coolant has the proper anti-growth additives in it already...
+JayzTwoCents hey I could be wrong about this but I thought that on the Mayhems website that they said that nano fluid doesn't work with Tygon tubing. That could be it?
Its nice working on the PC on a rainy day! Thats the best time, listening to the pitter pattter of the rain and installing fresh hardware
The moment you love the sound of pitter patter from the rain on the ground and then realizing its a leak of your system. That would be scary.
hahaha yep haha
Jay, I just wanted to say thanks for all that you have taught me. I went from building desktops, to doing custom loops. Heck, your Nissian videos even gave me the push to start finally working on my Mustang. Keep doing what you're doing man, you're the best.
Hell yeah, more Skunkworks! You're an example for me Jay, I love these videos and I've been modding and making my PC perfect ever since I saw what you're doing. It's awesome.
Merry Christmas, Jay!
Merry Christmas, Mrs. Jay!
Merry Christmas, Little Jay!
Merry Christmas, Mini Jay!
Merry Christmas, Skunkworks (hope you're feeling better after the holidays)!
Merry Christmas, all RUclips commentators (beside the "First" guys)!
first reply
Skunkworks Linus Media Group Edition! haha
***** So true
+Joaquim Bamberg Yeah.... I don't get it. Why does everyone love orange?
+DKL, Orange is the new Black.
Kinda reminds me an old DFI Lan Party that I had many years ago. It was awesome back then!
I love how you have developed as a youtuber your videos have turned more of a vlog stylish but it is more inviting and hooks my interest more so thanks Jay.
God bless El Niño! I'm in PA and it was 65 degrees today! That's unheard of here for Dec. Love it!!!
Hey Jay. Looks like you are having plasticizer leaching on the soft tubing. That is what that white powder is. Make sure you get some plasticizer free tubing in the basement. I had less than 1.5ft of it in my case (for some hidden stuff that didn't need hard line) and it made the same exact thing happen. Since moving to Primochill LRT... no problems.
i really f*cking love these videos
It looks better than before already ! Can`t wait to see the complete build !
Hi Jay am christopher from Ghana n this is my time commenting on ur blog for over a years now lol n wants to say thank u very much for all that u'v been doing to help us. After a long time of preparations is now time to do my first n new build all thanks to u the water cooling guru. will send u the link so that u can aid me to finish that build
"I havn't done cocaine in a while"
"Thats a joke guys"
So, that means you HAVE done cocaine lately? :P
+muh1h1 That's exactly what I thought XD
Jay, I though you had some before each video! That is why I enjoy them so much. 😂
That explains why this videos are so good.
+muh1h1 haha
+muh1h1 It's just a prank bro..
Pastel Fluid sales just went down by 80% cause of you lol
+GuardianLords they posted a pic of this video and how jay deleted one of their comments, and literally every comment on their is slander, they deleted my comment because I was asking why they were talking so disrespectful about him
+1097jad where did this happen? Links?
+GuardianLords I've personally ran Mayhems Pastel Green in my loop without any discoloration over the past year and a half (in Advanced LRT tubing no less). And every time I've opened the loop to redo a run (had to because of changing out GPU, but reused the same fluid cause I'm cheap), I never had a single problem that Jay had. And I'm not the only one. And no, I'm not speaking for Mayhems either. Just my personal experience. I don't know what on earth happened with Jay's loop, but that isn't indicative of everyone's experience with Pastel fluids.
+1097jad link?
+DKL facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10153252778978144&set=a.477085293143.255469.579898143&type=3&theater
The orange looks a lot better now that I see it up close! Like how far you went in getting the orange matched on the motherboard and even the RAM. Can't wait to see it fully assembled and working again.
Excellent vlogs and personality. Informative and laid back enough to make me want to take the leap from an AIO setup. Keep doing what you do!
you never showed us the old dirty gpu blocks
+brian philips I wanted to as well, but it'd probably turn into nightmare fuel for potential water coolers.
+brian philips riiiiiiiiight?! I have actually been pricing up a set of water blocks for my 980s and wanted to see what kind of devastation that liquid caused
That will be getting its own video. I said in this vlog that I won't tear it apart until the build is done
***** damm is it that bad?
Yeah South Australia has been absolutely wrecked with 40"c weather.
Queensland has faired better but rain would be nice.
Digging the vlog style how-to's!!! Definitely helps to learn through watching your experience in setting it up.
Jay I hear ya, It's the discoloration and build up of the fluids on the blocks, that finally made me just back track to using solid color hoses and clear fluid.
It is just hot in australia because australia.
We always get 30-40C summer days.
However not this early in the summer. December is usually not this hot, Jay is correct about the El Nino resulting in hotter weather.
In South East Asia we get 30-35 *C every single day.... And it's way more humid than Australia :(
+IIGrayfoxII It's 34C for me here right as I make this comment... :(
+psymon 2 Only 34C?
+Smackers_12 Yep It was 45C here in Melbourne the other day, It shouldn't be that until late Jan/Feb usually.
It's going to be a bad fire season this summer, You can see how burnt the grass and tress are already just in the suburbs let alone out in the country side towns.
It may seem like a good idea to brew beer in your water loop its bound to fail TRUST ME :P
I really like how the entire PCI-e rack/ backplate comes out WITH the mainboard tray. That has to make so many things just that much easier with a system build
I'm really loving this skunkworks build vlogs Jay, keep up the work!
i think the orange looks great i would rather have orange then some kinda mutant growing in my pc
orange goes great with black anyways. Personally I prefer it over yellow. But I guess some people have other opinions/tastes tho
in my opinion white and blue would look sick together
+skotty523 white and purple with slight blue is awesome
+timo stockhorst i hear its the new black
+skotty523 im making a white and blue build as my first build in may
Weird. I've been running Mayhems Pastel Ice White for over three years and it's still fine.
It's looking slick so far. Also thanks for the hard tube guide it was a lot of help!
FWIW, this is helpful to newer loop builders. Thanks for making and posting.
Jay , someday we hope that we can build A BADASS MUTHAFUCKING COMPUTER THAT MAKES ME CRY
It's all good if you partake in the booger sugar every now and then Jay, just don't overdo it.
if colour change is due to heat better buy more radiators to move more heat away from the coolant
I don't think you understands what he means... He is talking about cocaine.
Love the orange and the case. Waiting to receive my 900d so I can start my very own "Jesus what is that thing" build. Props to skunkworks for the inspiration
Love the new orange color theme. Orange and black go well together, and the shiny nickel is nice too.
Isn't the xt1 a mayhems fluid as well is it the fluid or just the pastel dies that you don't like jay?
Will Leonard He hates the Pastel dyes
+freddiewm xiopop No he doesn't idiot.
+Infinite Zero maybe i said it a bit strongly but what is meant is that he doesn't like the pastel fluid enough to ever use it again. due to the white power. he really likes the coolling of the pastel tho
+freddiewm xiopop That's not the point. He never said he didn't like it, he said that he wouldn't use it because it reacted to something in his loop. And let's be honest here, if that happened to you, wouldn't you just switch to something else?
Water systems are cool and all but to much work to maintain
+Drazen Graves I bet you never ever owned a watercooled system. If you don't use shitty fluids like this, you basically have to change the fluid every year and that's it. But even that is just recommended, not a must.
It's worth it for the performance.
+Drazen Graves dont listen to boni. i have watercooled pc and have to change lquid every day and clean spill
You're doing it wrong... You have to change every watercooling component in your system every hour, or else your system will blow up.
+Boni Hollóssy there comes a hole lot more with it
No.
Looks nice , can't wait to see it when it's finished.
I have to agree. Orange and nickel plated looks really good!
Dat mass deletion of mayhems comments
+SquidPlays what did they say?
***** advertisements, spam, and a whole lotta comments trying to get Jay back to using their fluid
thats is a very yeasty wheat ale
Thank you for the well wishes, Jay. I hope you have a Merry Christmas too, to you and to your family! Have fun in Disney Land. :-D And thank you for yet another super informative and guiding video!
Jay thanks for the video. I wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
i think i can say that "aquarium pc's" or "mineraloil pc's" aren't dusty, without being a liar :D
Radiators dusty.
Some have big radiators that look like a Lewis LMG barrels which require no fans and get no dustier than anything else in the room, and yet others have no radiators at all and just rely on material volume alone.
D8W2P4 Somehow they just get more dusty :P
could you please give the name of the sound at beginning
Music
+erazorCTF ○○○ All music provided with permission by audiomicro.com ○○○
+erazorCTF where can I find what mayhems said?
+Benedikt Schesch Should Be More (No Vocals)
+Grizzly i cant find it
Merry Christmas Jay, look forward to see the final result.
It's also super helpful. Enjoy the holidays!
It happens when you don't flush your radiators prior to using new fluid. It's obvious that this is the case here, Mayhems themselves even explain this on their website...
+Play3r TV This loop was flushed 4 times!
+JayzTwoCents 4 times? jesus!!! What did you flush it with? just regular DI? after 4 flushes, I can't see their being a problem at all! I sometimes use vinegar, although none of my pastels have gone ganky before :(
+Play3r TV Metals and heat
+Daehawk I think the GPU loop pretty well shows that heat is definitely an issue here, I mean it is 3 Titans after all. I would expect them to run hot and that loop definitely changes color faster every time he's a done a flush and cleaning.
+Play3r TV My guess is the pastels break down over time with the amount of heat dumped into the rig. Ive had blue dyed DI water fade quickly due to that probably. Colored tubing is the way to go or use regular DI water and go for a "crystal" ish theme with just water flowing
get the nickle plating, you will kick your self later on.
Great work Jay. I'm loving the new orange aesthetics! Keep up the great videos!
Jay that looks sooooo awesome!!!! im so glad u went with orange. Everyone does green, nobody does orange and nickel!! so sweet
Jay stop pretending you live in Cali we all know that California has no water
i will buy skunkworks off you for $1
Ill buy it for 2.99!
+Shaggy $2.20 !
+BossManiacGames ill go to tree fiddy...no more no less
make it 0.69p
+BossManiacGames oh yeah ill walk in like a baller and buy it for a whopping 10 USD yup you heard me right. t e n u s d. Making them moneys
You've made me so happy that I chose coloured tubing and water just for the convenience, what a mess that stuff left. Loving the new look Jay, much prefer it to the yellow, hope you and the family have a good christmas dude.
Skunkworks coming together well, love the orange, black and hint of grey very nice. Merry Jay :)
How to stop your fluid from changing color.... go back to air cooling :P
It very funny Mr JZ, after contacting you via email and via twitter how you refused to accept our help (or any ones). In fact you simply refused it and didn't communicate with us what so ever and post videos in a vain hope for some attention. We offered to even pay to get samples from you and offered you up the same support we do every one else, how ever it seems you must be above approach or help.
+Mayhems Wow.
+Mayhems You don't even need to say anymore- your product speaks for itself alot of high-end PC system builders have been using Mayhems coolent 2+ years without changing & have had no such problems like in this video.
Singularity-computers cyberdruid-modgod/ L3p (Peter-Brands) the list goes on & on, Mayhems makes high quality long lasting watercooling coolant/concentrates!
I have never had a problem with the fluids other than when I added the wrong dye by accident. Seems like Jay probably didn't clean his loop properly tbh.
+Mayhems Do consider that he may have just wanted to change it out despite all that. He has no obligation to stay as your customer, and if he wants to switch to something else, contacting for support is just pointless.
And please don't act like he's actively targeting you, his complaints are directed at nano fluids in general.
Above all, I honestly don't see the point in your comment. It seems like you're just trying to shame him here. Arguing with a customer gets you nowhere.
+Aimela well, it would be nice for Jay then to say 'hi guys Yeh I'm rebuilding this, I unfortunately forgot to clean my radiators properly (or what ever he hasn't cleaned correctly) and as a result I am going to be switching the fluid out... Blah blah blah.' Either way, it wont make a difference, people will still use Mayhems, so If I would them, I would just t leave Jay to it =D
Merry Christmas Jay and family!
Looking damn good there man! Happy Christmas. Looking forward to seeing more of the work on Skunkworks!
this color scheme looks amazing, impressed as always brah!
watching this makes me wanna get back in to watercooling.
great video jay.
That confirms my suspicions about pastels.
Thanx Jay.
I especially love your vlogs. Keep it up jay!!!
Been waiting for this!
Looking Good Jay......the more and more I watch you the more I feel like trying my hand at a custom water cooled system. Merry Christmas to You and your Family, enjoy Disneyland.....
It looks really good.
Keep the good work Jay
Thanks for the video Jay., The rig looks like it will be amazing looking.
Hey Jay Merry Christmas to you and yours. Skunkworks is gonna be a spectacular color scheme when it is all finished.
Happy holidays to you and your. It will be interesting to see what happens with the new fluid, but I love that orange color, orange is always nice.
Love this. I'm learning a ton about liquid-cooling PCs! :D I love how clean and organized your builds are, and your workspace too. Also, your method of delivering info is super concise, and thanks for the minimal or no background music when you're talking. I prefer no background music, coz it makes it easier to think about what you're saying.
I'm in SoCal too, woot. :D
Australian Here, can confirm, It's been hot! Christmas is looking to cool down where I am though! Love the Video Jay!
it would be very fun to drive in the rain with all weather tires, although would be hard to drive with your super sticky street tires on the the 370. i had a 97 v8 thunderbird and as soon as i let off the gas the back tires would always catch whether in the rain or the snow. everyday on my way to school i would do block long skids in the winter lol
wow jay that looks great Mate happy Christmas to you and your family thx for all the brilliant content cheers
merry christmas jayz
keep the nice videos up
Looking good jay, nice job bud. Merry Christmas.
MERRY CHRISTMAS JAYZ!!! have a good one
Like the look of the orange! Nice choice!
It's been unusually warm and rainy here in the Northeast. It's 65+ on Christmas Eve here and foggy. Rained all day yesterday. Usually it's MUCH cooler here now.
looking really good, Jay!
I love these videos. I'd love to see some recordings of painting or other stuff thrown in!
Skunkworks is looking good Jay! I will be building new PC in March myself. Merry Christmas to you as well as be safe!
Merry Christmas Jay and Family
Merry Christmas and a very happy new year!
really like the new look Jay! I think everything is coming along well :D
It's looking great jay I love the orange/black color scheme
I'm not going to lie, when he first said he was doing an orange-themed build I didn't think it would look super special, but with those chrome fittings it looks pretty sweet! Great job, Jay!
I like the music in the intro :) nice video Jay I love these kinds of videos!
Well Jay, glad you stood up and risked getting flamed by the Mayhems fan boys.
I feel ya with the dusty rig. I couldn't stand it in my 900D and went with demci flex filters. works like a charm. I just clean the every two weeks.
Merry Christmas to you and your family Jay
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you and the Family Jay :D
All the see through fluids look the best anyway Jay, Just brings out the whole liquid cooling aspect in my opinion,But each to their own.
The clear orange will look epic!
This looks so much better! And the last color scheme was more than sexy
A Merry Christmas to you as well!
hey JayzTwoCents, I love watching all of your videos but these personal builds and updates are my favs, keep em up man and hope the new color fluid goes awesome for you. ps. if you take you them titan x's you can always pass on my way, always looking to upgrade hahaha
Hey Jay the build looks awesome so far
Holy! You have lost tons of weight since I last watched one of your videos, around the time you were showing the new bike you had gotten at the time. Great work man!
Nice video! Keep up the good work! Can't wait to see it done!
Jay, I saw a newer pick up truck that was white, orange trims, and chrome bumpers, step rails, mirrors, etc. I should have taken a picture, but that is the look I'm going for in my new build.
It's looking very nice, Jay.
Nice Job Jay. Looks sick so far
Gotta say I like the looks of this much better than the old yellow one. Hope it goes smooth and you get an awesome OC out of it.
i love these build vlogs!
This is why I gave up on many years of elaborate custom water loops. I am happy to settle for all-in-one options these days. The quality has improved to the point where they compete very well with custom.
