      TheNerdyCanadian wccftech.com/amds-radeon-r9-390x-es-performance-numbers-allegedly-leaked-faster-geforce-gtx-980-consumes-197w-gaming/
      Unless you think the 390x consumes less power than a 280x and almost as little as a 980, then that's the 380x, and there's two cards above that, a 390 and 390x. If there's that big of a gap between the 380x and 980, you can do the math lol.
      Have to wait and see, of course.

    • @Hobo960
      @Hobo960 9 лет назад +1

      295x already beat it on quite a few games if you look up comparisons but the Titan has better editing and rendering (from what I've seen and read)

    First, Thank you Jayz. The whole 2 weeks, There are almost no youtube contents from any tech channels (except the funny video from Kyle). This is more than a glass of water in the summer, it's a freaking pepsi; because it's not just a video it's the Skunkworks's upgrade.
    Second, Hardwarelabs Black Ice GT series radiator, sir you have damn good choice. Cann't wait to see which kind of fans put all the hot air out of those 30 fins.

    Welcome to the wonder of 4+TB drives Jay!
    Running quad-4TB Barracuda's here, might replace 2 of them with an 8TB drive since 2 of them that I'd be replacing are for storing and sorting close to a decade's worth of data and backups from older systems.
    Of course, that's after I finally get a 512GB M.2 SSD-on-PCIe expansion card for caching my OS and most of my main-use programs... Actually, with 446GB of Steam games, I could do with one of the M.2-on-PCIe cards with a 512GB SSD ~JUST~ for Steam alone...

    My 2 questions:
    1) Why put the 280 in the bottom instead of making a drainage system and in the bottom with the rad down their and then put a 360 rad in the front?
    You could do a lot of cool paint jobs with that rad to make it go well with the build.
    2) Why not use that Enthroo Primo you have? Unless you're using it for something else...

    • @JackTheFlapExtra

And i have to tell you there is a difference but not a 250 dollar price gap difference. I will say you get about 15 more fps. Not sure if this helps but its here if you want it

      There is so much that goes i to it. If youoom at extreme rigs rad reviews. You'll see even the cheap xspc ex doesn't perform that much worse than the top rads. Good fans, ambient temp, etc etc all at a roll. Some rads our made for slow and some our made for high speed fans (or atleast work better with said fans)

    • @MoreNimrod
      @MoreNimrod 9 лет назад

      Pompa Stompa (Red Actual) Copper conducts heat quite well so that's not ideal, as there would be heat inside the case, but you're going to want to take the heat to the rads and then blow it out of the case. Also it's pretty impossible to prevent corrosion, as you have water or just air exposure always in a computer.

    • @thenerdycanadian7172
      @thenerdycanadian7172 9 лет назад

      MLLRTYM Linus did it with the whole room watercooling and no issues, so i would say other than smoothing the edges of the pipes so you don't rip the o-rings and putting in anti-corrosion, etc, it should be pretty straight forward

    • @CorneliusSneedley
      @CorneliusSneedley 9 лет назад +2

      Dennis Z You can easily prevent oxidation by spraying a clear coating on copper tubing. If you buffed the copper to a high shine, then sprayed it, it would look pretty damned spanky. Though I agree it would not be the ideal material due to the way it conducts heat.

    • @MoreNimrod
      @MoreNimrod 9 лет назад

      Cornelius Sneed I realized that today yeah, that there must be coatings to prevent oxidization! But also I guess installing it is a con. Not that it's impossible of course, but I imagine bending and cutting copper tubes is very difficult compared to plastics.

    Hey JayzTwoCents, you need to paint the E from EVGA on your motherboard yellow that will make the build complete and the motherboard will pop up instead of fully black

    Hey *****
    I've got a question because I'm still a bit of a PC novice. When It comes to upgrading skunkworks, how do you deal with moving programs and games onto the new storage? Do you have to re-download or re-install much? I want to upgrade my PC soon but I'm worried I'll have to re-download and re-install lots of things as well as have issues with my OS. What kind of obstacles might I realistically have?

    Judging from the visibility of the Parvum build in the background, I have an idea where those 980s might be repurposed. :)

    3 rebuilds in 10 months......yeesh, I've had the same rig for almost 6 years and have only started looking at a new mobo and gpu in the past month or so......
    Still a great looking system

    Maybe change the colour scheme while you are at it or have 2 different colour for the separate loops.

    Lovely trophy/show piece. Out of interest, if there a reason you've chosen to go with HDDs built in physically, rather than network storage? Do you use them for more than mass storage?

      Ah, I didn't realise he was using this as his main editing rig. I had assumed that, as he worked on it so much, he'd use another machine for video production - to make life easier.

    I have two SSDs, one 128 for Windows, one 256 for games. I was going to take the 128 for cache for Adobe stuff, and move the 256 to use it for Windows, then a new 512 for games, but seeing as how big GTAV is, I will be going 1TB for games :P

    Wow... Dual 4 TBs of Storage.... That is alot. I'm still using a 7 year old 320GB (7200RPM - SATA 1) HDD and a 4 year old 1TB (7200RPM - SATA 1) HDD...
    Will possibly buy a SSD for this summer ;)
