@Browntable I'm getting sick of hearing people talk about this show... It's a good show, and it doesn't deserve to be forgotten, but the amount of youtubers giving it praise these days is a bit too much for me... It's a good show, but not THAT good. It has way more in common with series like the Flash or Gotham, than with Batman TAS or Batman Beyond. At least in my opinion.
Great video. This show was my biggest intro into batman. It got me to realize how cool he was and got me to check out everything else batman related. I would be the same nerd I am today with out this show. Thanks for talking about it

Remembering this show makes me a little sad I don’t see as many action shows nowadays, but finally I know the name of this Batman show. I thought it was just a fever dream like MTV spider man I used to watch on DVD on car rides back in the day... Good thing I was wrong about that.
Max Alain's Meme Stash yeah it's ok for Bruce Wayne to smile and batman when he's with friends, as long as the batman doesn't break in front of the criminals
If you compare this bruce wayne and batman design look to BTAS's Bruce wayne and batman You'll see how younger he looks and feels...in this show he looks like he's in his 20s or atleast mid20s where in the BTAS he looks 30+...this Bat felt so close to spider-man and I'm not complaing for I am a Spidey fan...
@@patrickripleyiii134 I dunno, do you remember that episode of BTAS when Harley was trying to prove herself to the Joker? Batman unnerved her by smiling/laughing.
This show was the reason I got into Batman, that and Batman Beyond. It's sad that it doesn't get talked about much. I find this take on the Batman as the most unique, especially with how the villains are executed.
@@grimreaper99937bro it traumatised me and my cousins 😂 my cousin had that box tv and we lives in an area which is famous for being a lil paranormal I was staying over at his house when we watched the movie a vat passed by the window and it was 2 am at night oh man the memories this show was so good
I've always thought this show did a lot of justice for his side kicks than any other shows before. I love this show's incarnation of Bat Girl and Robin.
This batman really gave us the type of Batman/Robin/Batgirl relationship you see on tumblr and other places online. That episode The Breakout when them having to go against Black Mask and his gang? Perfect :)
It went from a weird gothic/tim burton style in S1 and 2, to joel shumacher-esque with sidekicks with S3 and 4, to batman brave and the bold-ish with S5. It was still a good show, but it struggled to stick with a path. I wasnt a fan when I first saw it, but it grew on me
One thing I really like about this show is how they did Batgirl and Robin. Because of the massive age difference between the two (DIck was still in middle school while Barbara was starting college) their story couldn't really work out the way it usually does. They actually completely change the dynamic with Barbara acting much more like an older sister and secondary mentor to Dick, and it ends up working out really well and is still one of the most unique takes on their relationship that I've seen
100% agree. To me they are unmatched in this area. Did you ever see the drawings they had for Scarecrow if he were to appear in the series? Just awesome.
I remember when Ethan turned to clayface, such a strong scene as a kid man, he was like your freind watching him with Bruce and knowing he was becoming a villain sucked
@@JazzStation95 That meme movie line from TDK spoke true to some individuals in Gotham: "You Either Die a Hero, or You Live Long Enough To See Yourself Become the Villain"
The Riddler always keeps calm, manulipates cops, has an oddly soothing voice, has a plan for everything, traps people in unwinnable situations, talks to his victims remotely without showing his face, and even makes an old rival navigate through a bunch of death traps in an abandoned house. He reminds of a certain other villain who likes to play games.
I actually think the animation they did for Bruce in The Batman made Pattinson an excellent choice: their shared extremely square face shapes and exploding jaw lines are absolutely uncanny
I loved this Joker because he was crazy athletic like a money, so he seemed more unhinged and crazy. And this Bruce Wayne was cool and capable of being social
Every Batman/Bruce Wayne is capable of being social. The big difference between this one and most of them is that THIS one is sociable without having to put on an act, tries to hold onto his personal relationships and doesn't view most of them as a means to an end. He was scarred by his parents death, and it inspired him to be do whatever he can to clean up Gotham both as Batman and Bruce Wayne, but it didn't break this Batman like it did with the other versions to the point where he seems as crazy as almost anyone in his rogues gallery. This Bruce Wayne isn't a mask for Batman, he's actually the charming guy that can enjoy going out for a night on the town with a friend.
This is easily the most innovative design of Joker to date. Giving him a deeper, gruff voice, athleticism, and his posture, he really stands out among the many versions of the character
@@Luca08Luca same. he was pretty damn scary especially with his laughing gas. But I remember other villains scaring me too. Those assassins the penguin hired....manbat... Creepy stuff.
This show was awesome. Displaying a younger, more idealistic Batman was a very fresh take on the character, ntm displaying a more rounded out skill set. The music and sound effects were awesome too
I really like the whole "villain appears, kicks batman's ass, batman learns from the ass-kicking and kicks their ass in return" formula. It's a lot less boring than "batman can do anything because he's batman".
That episode is awesome. It really shows Hugo Strange as a master manipulator in a ways that’s not shown in other shows. The way he gets into Batman’s head and almost makes him poison all of Gotham in an attempt to save it is horrifying, since you’re in Batman’s shoes the entire time. It’s one of my favorite episodes. It’s right behind Gearhead episode, because there’s just so much nostalgia from loving that one in particular as a kid
A little fact: Kevin Micheal Richardson originally just audition he didn't want the role for joker. But Mark Hamill gave him the permission. Mark and Kevin are iconic jokers
To add onto this, Kevin Michael Richardson has said during interviews and panels that he was having a bad day when he went in to audition for Joker. He pretty much let out all his frustrations into that audition, and the casting crew loved it so much, they called him the very next day telling him he got the part. Kinda fitting that he wound up getting the role of Joker because of “one bad day”. 😉
There were so many Batman related shows going on at the time this series was released. JL Unlimited & Teen Titans were killing it in the early 2000's and were soley responsible for the exclusion of certain characters in The Batman. Which is probably why the 3rd & 4th season moved at such a break neck pace with the inclusion of Robin & Batgirl. But man I loved this series. The way they gave a more stylized take on the characters was perfect! Villains that aren't usually physically capable of competing with Batman are now able to match him tick for tack. But they kept the core elements in tact. Its really a shame that this show is so underrated. I honestly wouldn't mind a bluray release.
Magitek1112 I remember hearing about that too. Teen Titans was still being aired at the time during season 3 before season 4 started which is why they had Batman’s first partner be Batgirl instead of Robin
The intro with Spectacular Spidey is hilarious because I always think of The Batman and Spectacular Spider-Man as being the similar Marvel and DC counterparts. I grew up watching both as a kid, and love both to death. Id argue it was in some ways, if not a little bit better than TAS. Loved TAS, but in today's era, The Batman holds up better. Its one of my favorite cartoons period
fun fact, terry McGuinness was directly inspired by spiderman. complete with most of his villains being reskinned spiderman villains. think shriek and shocker, ink was venom, and so on and so forth. you can find behind the scenes stuff and directors commentary talking about it.
@@ProjektTaku while that is the role they filled the creators went on record saying they were inspired from venom. the black inky goop was a direct decision from that
theres a episode with sandman from spectacular spiderman and rhino, his name LITERALLY was rhino, i recognized his voice instantly 😂 i rlly get heavy spectacular spiderman vibes from this show
It's my personal headcanon that this is the Batman that trained the Robin from the original teen Titans. I feel like the costumes and the designs match up really well.
I honestly loved both openings for the show, as the first one was dark and grim to indicate Batman’s headspace and the second is more lighthearted and campy, which is how batman likely feels after including batgirl and robin into his crime fighting movement, and may reference Adam West’s 60s version of batman.
Dude, when I was growing up and the show came on, I would turn the volume up to the max when that theme song came on. When I was a kid, I loved that second theme song so much, and now I love both equally.
I love how this show handles the villains. The reinventions are so creative and each villain represents a different aspect of Batman's character. It's probably my favorite versions of Batgirl and Poison Ivy too.
@@glassofwater281 well I mean, that doesn't mean much since there's only really been five good ones: This one Mark Hamill Heath Ledger Joaquin Phoenix And Jack Nicholson
@@joshevans3421 that's true, but I mainly said that because I'm not really an expert on DC, so I'm probably missing some really good jokers from the comics or something
I really like Clayfaces arc in the show, he just wants to do his job well and be a good cop, but ends up becoming a criminal himself. It isnt till second clayface pops up, that he fights the monster he's become and redeems himself for the better.
I'm so glad there's actually people out here who knows the show exists! I remember watching this show a fairly long time ago on netflix I was so sad when they removed it but now that its back on there im binge watching the whole thing again, I absolutely loved this show and still love it just wish more people could know about this amazing show!
I actually picked up the Blu Ray set and it's WAY better than I remember it. I really liked its unique take on Batman. I felt like it came out at the wrong time.
In my mind i always headcanoned this show as a prequel to Teen Titans. The Robin seen in the last two seasons of The Batman eventually grows up to become the Robin from that show.
@future flash actually there is a comic where the Batman from the Batman spies on robin from teen titans and mentions training him, I think there's a watchtower database episode on it
Also it looks like the batman is also a prequel to jistice league action to. Just look at that batman and this one side by side. And if thats the case teen titans the batman and justice league action are the same universe
The elephant in the room is Batman: The Animated Series still gets most of the acclaim. Rightfully so, but The Batman successfully reimagined the franchise without compromising too much for younger audiences. I remember I had a blast watching it growing up, though I probably tuned out at either season 3 or 4. That Clayface character arc was phenomenal; the equivalent of what BTAS did to Two-Face's character.
Unfortunately, The Batman riled up fans with its take on the Joker in Season 1. I know they tried to correct course in later seasons, but that was a rough first impression. People just weren't ready for that version, not immediately after Batman: TAS' definitive version.
They flipflopped on it and basically just did the harvey dent thing. Plus they just dropped Ying. That was an erupt change. Also her design made her look too much like a little girl. I really don't think it was very good and had no weight to it.
Honestly the worst thing about Seasons 3-5 is that they completely wrote Yin out of the show. Like I don't even think they give her a reason to be gone. She's just gone. At least they gave Ethan proper closure, but man, Yin was probably my favorite character and she just disappeared.
It was because they thought it was going to become a Batman and friends kind of show where Yin was going to be in every episode working along or againist Batman and they didn't want to keep doing that. Especially when they started introducing Dick Grayson.
Even though I like seasons 3-5 I'm kind of disappointed that they ditched Yin and Ethan. They are some of the most interesting Batman characters to me.
I loved Yin, and was very sad to see her completely disappear in the third season. Ethan still gets some attention in later seasons, but not as much as the first two.
@@kamentrainerhorn2073 My theory is that since the police started to become more trusting of Batman in season 3 Batman no longer needed an inside person in the GCPD, as I said earlier it was hinted in season 4 that they started working together again sometime after the show ended. But yeah, it's a bummer she was scrapped from the show entirely.
I loooooved the character designs for this show. Especially The Batman's. There is just something so cool about how he appears more lithe and the decision to have his cape drape over and encompass him completely. And how the fringes of his cape were always on the floor. Almost like he was perpetually melting into and away from the shadows
I loved how in this series it was Joker after Harley. She ran a dating show and Joker would call in as a guest and when they asked who was on the line he would say "mr. J"
YES!! I completely agree! I've always preffered this batman design over the others because I to loved the cape and the claws on the gloves and with how his body didn't look like he-man's and was more athletic l. Don't get me started on evryone else. I just God I love the designs so much that I can't even put my words into comprehensive sentences.
"If you've watched Jackie Chan Adventures, one of the greatest shows of all time in the history of the planet." Never before has a sentence resonated with me so deeply. You sir, have impeccable taste.
@@DensilGrant never watched a single second of Ben 10, but when this guy brought up Jackie Chan Adventures I honestly got a little giddy with nostalgia. That show was a banger.
Still my favorite Catwoman. The first season's intro music is fantastic for setting the mood, but the show changed with the intro into something not quite as great as the first season, but yeah, still a great show overall. Even the "weird Joker" wound up working pretty well, and Ninja Penguin was more fun than expected. It was an interesting way to make him more of a threat than a joke.
He wrote for those shows, but he wasn’t a showrunner for this one like he was for those others. He also wrote for Brave and the Bold and Beware the Batman.
@@coltongates7397 - Yeah, the graphics were ambitious, but really didn't hold up well. Reminds me of the cutscenes of an early PS2 Batman game ^^' Some weird choices when it came to some designs as well, and characterizations, but it had potential... wish we saw less of Harvey and more of Two-Face, but he was kept for a season 2 (nice) that never came.
It’s on HBO Max now! I was sad when it was taken off of Netflix. I loved this show (except maybe the last season, but it wasn’t bad by any means. I kinda liked it when it was simply Batman related). Watching it again was very nostalgic and amazing. It’s a very solid Batman show.
BTAS is always gonna have a special place in my heart, but The Batman was MY SHIT. I always loved how modern this version was. I even own the Batman v Dracula movie lol
I actually got rid of the movie cuz I tried watching it when I was younger and I got terrified of it 😂 I’d love to see it now tho. I also once was scared of that episode where Batman slowly becomes Joker but it’s now one of my favorites
@@Idunnoyouguessit I remember seeing reruns of Batman TAS but I never paid much attention to it as I was more into Spider-Man as a kid. However what got me hooked was Justice League and Batman Beyond on Toonami. Strangely enough The Batman never aired in my country as far as I can remember.
The thing i like the most about this show is that “he actually has a life outside of his batman persona”. Then comes the details in combat and the techs
How could he not mention the zombie episode? I just discovered this show with 25 but those episodes (I think it was a two parter) and I immediately rewatched them after finishing because I was mindblown from a kids show! Love the show!
Maybe I was born at a weird time. But I grew up watching this Batman cartoon over the 90s one and didn't even know it existed until years later. I even remember my grandmother buying the Batmobile from the show. I loved it so much. A while ago, I watched The Batman vs Dracula, such nostalgia. I really liked this show along with Teen Titans, Justice League, and Legion of Superheroes. I'm glad I got to see this video, because unfortunately with watching this show so long ago, I don't remember every aspect of it. This was my introduction into Batman.
An episode I think about a lot is when the joker wants to be the Batman and injects a type of joker toxin into Batman’s bloodstream slowly turning him into the new joker. So good!!!
I think this show perfectly encapsulates "middle child syndrome." It didn't have the same legacy as the DCAU that came before it had, and it didn't have the same self aware fanservice of Brave and the Bold that came after it. Still, this was my intro to Batman as a kid, and while I don't care for some of the designs, I can't deny that the snappy action in this series has yet to be replicated elsewhere.
You're mistaken. Smallville had green arrow do it. The comics had them all come together. JL/JLU had them all come together. The new movies had Batman do it. Plus I saw that show, and the league was already formed when batman was brought into essentially. They had all gathered before hand.
the best super powered universe is "Wild Cards" It is a science fiction and superhero anthology series set in a shared universe. The series was created by a group of New Mexico science fiction authors, and mostly edited by George R. R. Martin. why ? 1) because this universe is exactly what would happen if everyday people got super powers. 2)when people become super powered THEIR super powers follow some of the laws of physics. Example, if you become 100% invisible, the back of your retinas would become invisible as well, basically you would become blind when you used your invisible powers. This is exactly what happens to a character in the series. To over come his limitation, he learns a ZEN awareness technique that allows him to memorize his surroundings. my other favorite powered individual has almost instantaneous healing. so once they broke their arm, it healed crooked. they had to re-break it to get it to heal correctly. he wasnt immune to pain. 3)You basically only get one power AND sometimes a limitation or weakness(that makes sense). Everyone in the series, isn't like Superman and has a billions superpowers and all powers at god-like levels. if you want to immerse yourselves in a "real life" universe of believable super powered beings "wild cards is the place to start. Warning, its for mature audiences with adult situations. the series(Wild Cards) is nothing like DC or MARVEL.
this is one of the least that gets that. For one thing, everything is so cartoony that it totally loses any darkness or gothic. Its bright. Penguin is such a joke(all the villains are). Imagine saying that about the 60s series because that's how you sound to me. The problem with this show isn't that it's badly done. But that it's a sort of generic cartoon. It's a very straight forward superhero cartoon. It felt like a step backwards. Like most cartoons in the 00s as that decade went on and even now.
Finally the show getting some deserved attention! Remember loving it as a kid, and Batman Vs Dracula? Legendary. Vampire Joker. Enough said. Really upset u didn't talk about it, guess I'll have to wait for that video ;P But seriously I think the reason why it doesnt get a lot of attention is simply that the kids who loved it have been a bit too young to really bring on the praise, and its been overshadowed by TAS. Hopefully now tho, ala the Prequels, it'll start to come back into the public consciousness bc of nostalgia (also the show was actual quality unlike the prequels), as I think it really deserves another look. Might actually rewatch the show now, I got a feeling it'll hold up! Keep up the great work my man! Cheers!
That makes sense. This was the Batman cartoon I watched as a kid, and I loved it as a kid. I didn't see B:TAS until my high school years (and it's around this point that I really got into anime, mind you), and while I think the acting, score, atmosphere and especially the writing (which, as a writer, I value the most), the animation didn't stick with me, at least until it was redesigned for the New Adventures. The designs felt too "fleshy" and the action felt too "chuggy" for my liking (though I can forgive it due to when and how it was made). The Batman just felt cleaner to me, and especially now that I've grown, I found myself liking simpler stories, though I can respect more complex tales that are woven.
I really liked how this show slowly evolved Batman, as well as kept it a bit "grounded" for most of the series. Like, even when there were literal psychic monks from the himalayas and a giant clay monster, i still went "holy crap that happened?" When the alien invasion happened. I also really liked how they kept the series mostly focused on Batman so other characters like Martian Manhunter showing up felt more impactful.
I grew up watching this show on Kids WB. This was the best Batman show I've ever watched like i liked how it was set during the beginnings of Batman's career seeing him as a young vigilante operating in the shadows and then slowly becoming a public hero of Gotham.
The Batman was MY Batman. This was the Batman show I grew up watching and it introduced me to some of my favorite characters. It's so stinkin' incredible and I'm so glad that someone is finally talking about it. So, thank you!
The Riddler in this show was straight up anime and is the best over haul of the character i have ever seen, most of the time he is just a joke but now is major threat to batman not only in the brain and brawn category but looks too.
The best episode by far is “A Matter of Family”. The voice acting and story of Robin’s origin is fantastic. It is literally the “Robin’s Reckoning” of Batman 2004.
@@absoluteecho6152 Bruh, the Bane in this show looks nothing like the Bane from the comics. Heck, even Tom Hardy's Bane somewhat resembled the comic Bane
@@Drums_of_Liberation i actually really liked the red bane it made me think that the venom also made blood rush throughout his body and heat up the body a ton, making him red
This show introduced me to Clayface and I always thought Ethan was the original until I found out it was the actor guy that came first in the comics. I thought he was the second since the show introduced him later.
I always loved the art style and designs of the show making it feel modern. It just felt so cool and made me really love Batman and become my fave superhero. I also loved how long Batman's cape was.
Like man I loved it when you put the batman up on the big screen crowd cheer because man this deserves more and honestly I personally love the first and second season. I literally just started watching this about 5 years ago then stopped then started it again and questioned why I waited so long to continue watching it. Love this series your so right also I'm a big fan of spectacular spider man too which is now on Netflix, the batman used to be on Netflix but sadly after a short time it wasn't on anymore.
I always really liked the way they drew Batman for this. The shape of the mask is really cool, the overly long cape looks great, and I love the idea of Batman having claws on his gloves too. Yellow oval bat isn't my favorite, but they did a really good job with the designs all around.
I think I know why not many people talk about The Batman is Batman: The Animated Series is considered, by most Bat-Fans, the definitive Batman show and everything before or after it is considered either second best or inferior. Of course Batman: The Animated Series was my childhood Batman so it's hard for me to argue that opinion.
Yeah... “Batman: The Animated Series” still holds up till this day. I rewatched it after watching “The Batman”. I enjoyed them both but I would still give “Batman: The Animated Series” another watch for sure. As for “The Batman”, while it was good, I don’t see myself ever watching it again.
This show is my childhood as well. I remember watching it on television and just being blown away! Quite differently to you though, season 3 is my fav season.
I’m so glad to see people talking about this show, it made me fall in love with Batman’s stories. I love the art style, the tone of the show, everything is just amazing. I feel like the movie was just the show’s best elements concentrated into a film and I love it. And let’s not forget about the time Hugo Strange (spoilers) almost tricked Batman into killing all of Gotham and possibly ending the world. Also was the intro a nod to the Spectacular Spiderman? God I loved that show
I really liked the series. I think why it was not remembered that well is because it had the dubious honour of being the first animated series tackle Batman after Batman TAS. It's like when Ultimate Spiderman following Spectacular Spiderman or the Avengers series that followed Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Follow a milestone series is never easy and people are less forgiving of the new series because it's not the old series. The Batman was not DCAU and that rubbed some people the wrong way. To be fair Teen Titans also not DCAU and is better remembered but that is mainly because with exception of Robin every thing in TT hadn't been seen before. By this point we had seen an animated Batman and iconic versions of his whole villain gallery. Even now, any animated Joker not voiced by Mark Hamil gets marked down almost instantly. So yeah, great show with unfortunate timing. Though that said, 5 seasons is damn impressive
Great Analysis. As someone who watched all of the series as it aired weekly I agree 100% with your analysis. It felt extremely weird seeing a Justice League appearance without it being DCAU as a kid. And as a kid I never understood the concept of DC Multiverses. So that threw me for a loop.
One thing I love about this show is that in the fifth season, instead of just focusing on Batman, it focused on the whole world of DC, bringing in other DC heroes and their enemies. That was great.
I remember seeing someone comment on Twitter that this show was bad because batman smiles and joked around too much. Some people just don't understand quality television
Because they want batman to run around mercing people and being "bad--s" like punisher or some garbage. In short: desperate for adrenaline and feeling relevant
I'm personally a big fan of The Batman vs Dracula movie. I like how much darker it is than the show, with all the blood and stuff. Plus the final fight with Dracula is pretty hype
I love how they reveal early on that Wayne Enterprises has like a cannon that can shoot light with the same intensity as the sun and you can't help but wonder "What actual purpose would this thing serve if not exclusively for killing vampires?"
8:29 Fun fact: No only Greg Weisman was the shorunner, also Christopher Yost, who wrote Avengers EMH and Wolverine and the X-Men, as he made a really great run with Ryan Stegman about Scarlet Spider (Kaine)
So the new batman movie "The Batman" is a younger batman and makes me think of this show. I wonder if elements of this show might rub off on the movie possibly.
I think the new movie will be heavily inspired by frank miller's Year One comic. Hopefully they learn some things from this show as well. Younger Bruce when he's still rough around the edges and has a sense of humor has always been my favorite version of the character. They already tried adapting the old, dark, humorless, battle-worn batman who's lost his faith in humanity before with Batman V Superman, and it didn't work very well. So I hope they really knock it out of the park with this new one and the DC universe lands back on its feet
@@howler9171 if they *are* going to base it on Frank Miller's Year One series, then I think they should try their best to avoid Frank Miller's mistakes and learn from them so that they don't repeat them.
@@dixonb.tweenerlegs4225 It's still a younger Batman. Just because Robert Pattinson is older doesn't mean that Bruce Wayne is. This is only his second year of being Batman in-universe.
@@howler9171 I think the reason it may not have worked well is because we never saw a previous version of Batfleck before he settled into that dark role. If there was a movie that showed him all lighthearted, and then BVS came, I think it would've had a bigger impact
Watched this series for the first time back in 2015, and I immediately loved it! Loved the design for Batman in both the first three seasons and the last two. Love how they showed him maturing and becoming tougher. The voice for all the characters, especially, Rino Romano as Batman was amazing! Honestly, I do miss the darker tone from the first two seasons, but the last three are still cool. Also, early this year, FINALLY watched The Batman vs. Dracula. DUDE! Phenomenal! This Batman is my most favorite because of what you mentioned here: Batman has a life himself as Bruce AND is more human. So, he can be relatable while still being the awesome hero we all know and love. Great work here on this vid! Truly, a Batman worthy of respect and praise.
This and Spectacular is really the best representations of Marvel's and DC's lead heroes and definitely my favorite superhero cartoons! And visual design of these shows is just so good!
The show’s on HBO Max now!! This version has a special place in my heart- it’s what made me fall in love with Batman and it was a huge part of my childhood!
I loved this series so much! Especially seasons 3-4. Seeing Batman by himself for the most part (aside from alfred) and in his element was neat! But i feel like Batgirl and Robin added so much to the show with their dynamic with Bruce and each other. I even liked the spin of having Batgirl come before Robin because I feel like some rookie wiggling her way into being his occasional sidekick would warm Bruce up to letting his adopted son moonlight as his official one. Plus Robin and Batgirl’s rivalry over who was the better sidekick was funny.
The whole show is underrated. Plus with the movie The Batman vs Dracula, it was also pretty dark surprisingly and still just as good. It's a shame that it's almost never talked about.
@@Albert12324 I remember as a kid seeing a bunch of ads on cartoon network for batman v Dracula and even a couple times on nickelodeon! So I decided to record the movie on vhs so I could always watch the movie whenever which I did sometimes, wish I still had that tape!

I wasnt a fan when I first saw it, but it grew on me
I had no idea night wing was in this show
Lmao that intro better be canon😂😂
Agreed! Barbra is fun to be around and shes a quirky teenager while Richards more comical.
I actually really loved that, I use that idea in my fanfics (😅)
fr batgirl being a older sister to robin was soooo precious
The first 2 seasons had the best fucking intro of any show ever and no one can change my mind.

It kept in line with the theme of the show pretty well too. Implying that the cape and cowl was something he still had to grow into.
Thank god someone else understands for some reason I love the cape draping over edges

These are legitimately some of my favorite Batman character designs across all forms of media. This show deserves more praise for sure
100% agree. To me they are unmatched in this area. Did you ever see the drawings they had for Scarecrow if he were to appear in the series? Just awesome.
They turned the Joker in Gene Simmons from Kiss.
They turned the Riddler into Marilyn Manson.
And they gave Batman Claws.
The Batman and Spectacular Spider-Man were both great shows! Wish Spectacular Spider-Man got another season.
They were both an excellent reimagining of each character and especially their villains.
Sadly The Spectacular Spider-man probably won't return with Marvel under Disney
@future flash not to mention the crime war between silvermane, doc ock and tombstone /hammerhead

@@t4d0W Harley Quinn's "Society is to blame!" line from BTAS also applies to most Batman villains.
He even quoted the Saw villain once, didn't he?
Plus he's the most dope looking Riddler ever. Fight me.

Funny I hear the voice actor more as Scarecrow.
I actually think the animation they did for Bruce in The Batman made Pattinson an excellent choice: their shared extremely square face shapes and exploding jaw lines are absolutely uncanny

Yeah it was a good different twist on joker. It added a new layer to him
I loved how animalistic Joker looked
Yeah I also loved this version of the Joker but Mark Hamil’s Joker is also amazing
My favourite episode was the one where Batman manages to outsmart and defeat a person who can manipulate time!
The one who kept repeating time because he had to "predict" his movement
Mine is the Firefly episode in Season 1
My favorite is the Clayface two-parter.
There was an episode where Batman fights zeus lolol
He actually didn't outsmart him. The Clock King wound up killing his son and eventually undid everything that happened in the episode
This is easily the most innovative design of Joker to date. Giving him a deeper, gruff voice, athleticism, and his posture, he really stands out among the many versions of the character

@@desmondlovas8042 yes. Yes I did dude
@Jayden Cruz Mark gave Kevin blessing to voice joker because he was auditioning and try to refuse but Mark helped.
Jayden Cruz I agree but we should give a chance for other joker actors instead of mark hamill everything as Joker
From what I recall, the exclusion went both ways: They couldn't use a lot of Batman-related characters in JLU and TT because of the "Bat Embargo".
Magitek1112 I remember hearing about that too. Teen Titans was still being aired at the time during season 3 before season 4 started which is why they had Batman’s first partner be Batgirl instead of Robin

Not all villains are supposed to be able to physically challenge him. Otherwise Batman doesn’t need to be a genius

The elephant in the room is Batman: The Animated Series still gets most of the acclaim. Rightfully so, but The Batman successfully reimagined the franchise without compromising too much for younger audiences. I remember I had a blast watching it growing up, though I probably tuned out at either season 3 or 4. BTAS takes all the credit from every animated batman show
They flipflopped on it and basically just did the harvey dent thing.
The only thing is, she became commissioner in the future.
Thats what I'm saying she definitely had potential to become something more like maybe this universe batwoman
It was because they thought it was going to become a Batman and friends kind of show where Yin was going to be in every episode working along or againist Batman and they didn't want to keep doing that. Especially when they started introducing Dick Grayson.

the best super powered universe is "Wild Cards"
It is a science fiction and superhero anthology series set in a shared universe. The series was created by a group of New Mexico science fiction authors, and mostly edited by George R. R. Martin.
why ?
1) because this universe is exactly what would happen if everyday people got super powers.
2)when people become super powered THEIR super powers follow some of the laws of physics.
Example,
if you become 100% invisible, the back of your retinas would become invisible as well, basically you would become blind when you used your invisible powers.
@@DSan-kl2yc beforehand*
The only show that understood Gotham’s zany, creepy, weird, chaotic, gothic tone and the three dimensional characters to go along with it.
this is one of the least that gets that.
This and Batman Forever
@@DSan-kl2yc Big Agree, after Batman TAS and Batman Beyond, the art direction they went with this one just didn't sit with me...

Cheers!

YOOOOOO UNLOCKED DEEP MEMORIES
Agreed (also if mean Starwars prequels, they do have a charm/charisma to it
That makes sense.
Batman vs Dracula was godly
I really liked how this show slowly evolved Batman, as well as kept it a bit "grounded" for most of the series.
Like, even when there were literal psychic monks from the himalayas and a giant clay monster, i still went "holy crap that happened?" When the alien invasion happened. I also really liked how they kept the series mostly focused on Batman so other characters like Martian Manhunter showing up felt more impactful.
People mainly "hated" it for no other reason than it wasn't Batman: The Animated Series, which was very unfair to The Batman.
They need to give it a chance I come from the tas era and I didn’t think this show would be good but I love it as much as tas 😎
BUT is very in line with how this sort of thing usually goes. Happens like 7/10 times someone follows up on a masterpiece.
The Batman is just way better than Batman The Animated series imo
It’s because of People being Nostalgic for the 1990s and everything about it. “This was better in the 90s.”

The only thing that has never stopped bugging me about the design is his CHIN. It's HUGE...
Sophie Filo huh, never seemed to bother me
I think I know why not many people talk about The Batman is Batman: The Animated Series is considered, by most Bat-Fans, the definitive Batman show and everything before or after it is considered either second best or inferior.

@@timnoskill I doubt it. It's in Netflix's nature to remove old and awesome shows and movies
That was great.
no way, it was just a poor man's justice league. Keep the focus on batman tyvm.
