Skelita is one of my favorite dolls in the Monster High line. You made a really unique character here. I really wish they'd re-release new dolls from this line and our old faves, too!
Omg she's amazing isn't she!! I have one more that I wanted to use next halloween. I don't know if I would get another one. She's just so special. Love that body sculpt
Monster high is coming back in 2022 actually, there is no details yet but everyone is getting so hyped I’m most excited for it because that means that the used dolls with hopefully go down in price instead of up and up
I've watched a LOT of doll customs lately, and I've never been this captivated by one before. I couldn't take my eyes off of it. And usually I'm doing 2 or more things along with watching a video. Your work is just that amazing
This is just so cool. You did such a good job with the mask; I'm so impressed with the lapis eye and brow bits as well as the final effect of the gold. You got the color and appearance of texture to look so realistic. The crown is beautiful, too, and the collar. This is such a cool concept and it turned out amazing!
How do you only have 730 subscribers!?! Your work and your videos are amazing! And your hand sewing is so amazingly beautiful and it makes me so so happy since I hand sew and I’m super picky about my sewing being tiny and nice looking lol.
Beautifully detailed doll! I find that massaging and combing baby powder into the hair helps break down the glue. While it maybe a little more accessible, it may take more time and make more of a mess than the product used in the video.
I find that leaves a residue and changes the colour. I much prefer to use a remover. My newer remover smells really chemically but this one smelled like oranges

You are just so uniquely talented and I love your creative process! FYI for doll hair washing, I'm no expert, but what worked for my first (and only so far) doll was washing it with hot water and dish detergent first, and then soaking it in laundry fabric softener. I ended up cutting the hair off anyway, but it was good to know it worked!

Her mask is amazing! The details are incredible. You’re really good at sculpting. What kind of gold paint was that? I’ve never seen gold paint that nice.

Okay, I just finished the video, she looks amazing, I really liked the gold in the beginning and was a little disappointed when you had to start over but my God did the end result look so much better. The doll looks fantastic and that face paint was so shockingly acurrate to what I've seen in documentaries. I don't think I'll ever be that good with my repaints but if I could come a quarter of the way, I'll be happy. Yeah we don't have worbla, I made my Egyptian crown with premo, not as flexible but it works sorta.

WOW! Speechless. You have some amazing skills. She turned out amazing! I wish I could mix and layer colors like you do. Are you using water color pencils or colored pencils? What type of tools are you using? Thank you!
@@Dolleemixtures My granddaughter has been bugging me to make her something. Not quite like yours, must be simple. I don't have skills. haha! Do you seal the paint with something so it won't come off?
Back story idea: Her and her lover were unjustly kept from each other and she needs to find all of her organs so she can get her body back but she finds out years have passed and he’s dead and when he was alive he had moved on with his life after discovering that she was sentenced to death, after a while he found another lover but could never love her the way he loved his previous flame and eventually he continued his line. After grieving she wanted to be as close as possible to him so she started looking out for his children and grandchildren and eventually becomes sort of a protector to his family line with her soul trapped in a limbo-esque state unable to move on until she finds out what her unfinished business is and takes care of it.
Because it wasn't slime in the dolls hair. It was glue. I tried washing it first. That didn't get the glue out. So I used different products to remove glue
Ok, so I think you have all of your information from "Gods of Egypt" which is a movie. Not a documentary. And not a good movie either. Gold was plentiful in the region at the time and ancient Egyptians believed that the flesh of Ra was made of gold. There is no record of ancient Egyptian god's bleeding gold, in writing or picture. I'm glad you liked the film but the real history is a lot more interesting. There are a lot of documentaries that are really interesting
Actually I have read tons of Egyptian mythology books and Egyptian history books I did see that movie but I didn’t get much of the knowledge on Egypt from that
The part about Gods blood being gold is from that movie. I'm glad you've read lots of books. This one piece of info doesn't seems to be true... Would be cool if it was though
I think it’s interesting that she can make an Egyptian mummy queen doll and not get backlash (from what I’ve seen) and when dolllightful makes a wendigo doll (creature from native folk lore) she gets hate to the point where she makes a video about it. Just opening up that conversation and this isn’t meant to be like “oh you must send hate to her!” Kinda comment/thing
So, there are differences (and similarities) but I'm not saying portrayals of mummies is without problem. Wendigo is a sacred belief within a population currently living that is a minority that has in the past been repressed by white colonisers. Wendigo are often misrepresented in media. Mummies, on the whole, were never sacred (of course the pharaoh was seen as a living god at the time, so they would have been sacred) but this is not a currently held belief (and shes not a pharaoh). RUclipsrs will always get critisism/critique. Depending on who is saying it, what the critique is and the creator themselves, they may choose to change their viewpoint/address the critisism/apologise/take down the video. Dollightful clearly didn't make the doll with malicious intent and when she found out that the doll was hurting people she made her own decision to take down the doll. Parhaps if she had called the doll a yeti or big foot it might not have caused as many issues. Wendigo are often misrepresented as having antlers which is a style choice that dollightful included parhaps because she was familiar with the representation of wendigo with antlers from media. She's definitely not the only person that has shown wendigo. RUclips allows people to directly talk to the creator and bring up their concerns publicly which isn't something that would have been possible with things like Until Dawn. Dollightful is a huge creator on this platform and with that I think she has to be very careful to retain her audience. With regards to portraying sacred or religious figures, I think we can clearly see the issue with creating a doll of muhammed AT ALL, and then if we look at Madonna way back when, black jesus got so much criticism because he didn't follow currently held beliefs. Making a doll of anything to do with religion is definitely difficult. There was an incredibly insensitive doll of a Hindu goddess on Instagram recently, when that artist was called out, they doubled down. That was their choice which, with freedom of speech, they absolutely have a right to. But we have to remember that freedom of speech doesn't mean freedom from consequence. If Dollightful had chosen to keep the doll up, which she had a right to, she would possibly have seen other consequences which she didn't want so she made her own decision. She wasn't forced to take the doll down. She hadn't been sanctioned in any way for it. There are definitely issues with mummies being monsters and I didn't consider that before making this doll. If we consider ALL of the hammer monsters/traditional horror monsters, mummies are the only ones that are real. This clearly came with the boom of film being at the same time Tutankhamun's tomb was "found" (robbed is a better verb, honestly). The whole thing smacks of collonialism/othering/romantasisation. Hollywood are still producing mummy movies which definitely bolstered me. We definitely disrespect mummies to this day. It's questionable that real mummies are on display in museums. They are human remains that have been taken without their consent. Does desicrating their graves ruin their afterlife? People in Britain and America used to hold mummy unwrapping parties, appalling on so many levels. This doll isn't a real mummy though. She's a doll. I think if someone found this doll offensive I would consider more whether the video needed removing but because it is a concept from antiquity I don't think it will have the same reaction. So, you're right, it's not without problem. But I don't believe that you brought this up in good faith, I think you're upset about what happened with Dollightful, rather than understanding that Dollightful made her own choice, and you wanted to drag a small creator into the issue. I don't think that you have contacted universal, hammer horror or indeed monster high who all have problematic depictions of mummies. Much of the issue is explained clearly in the references that dollightful put in her description box that are available to read.
Could have used a bit less of a straight yellow color, and a instead a mix of maybe a tan/peach yellow color maybe some light brown, make it look a bit more eons old mummified human skin. Make the mummy aspect a bit more realistic. Not an insult. Just some constructive criticism from someone who REALLY knows their horror/fiction.
Ooh yeah good call! Mate! I hear the perfectionism, I've been fighting against mine for years. I get really wrapped up in tiny details... Trying to get to the "it's good enough stage". Tbf I never thought I could do this and then tried... You should give it a go, espesh if you're already and artist, I bet you have a lot of the materials already ❤️
Maybe she is looking for her heart so she can become whole again, but she needs to fit in or look human. So, she skinned other people who she found beautiful and sewed a "bodysuit". That was gruesome.
Jo Daddee you can always make more layers using msc aka mr. Super clear. Not only that but you can always add dark layers and lighter tones using color pencils like she used in the video.

But that's a really awesome doll overall. Makes me wish I could do that. But too ocd about my art for that
Ooh yeah good call!
Ooooh I love that!!!!
I’ll be honest I hate the mask color you drew on the face the first painting was more realistic and more like a real gold mask
Oh really?? You should do a doll with a gold mask
Dollee Mixtures don’t be offended by my opinion. As an up and coming artist I understand it can be hard to make something look realistic.
@@madgamerkitty2800 it does look realistic, the first layer with just gold paint seemed like the easy way out.
Jo Daddee you can always make more layers using msc aka mr. Super clear. Not only that but you can always add dark layers and lighter tones using color pencils like she used in the video.
This isn’t anything like ancient Egyptian at all
Why?
No it's not. It was filmed in a modern apartment, with modern equipment on a plastic doll.
Please explain further, I'm confused.
