Gary Clark Jr. is a flat-out stud... And Tim Reynolds not only taking a back seat but nearly hiding in the background to keep the focus on Gary shows their class and professionalism... Love that stuff.
Ive to many shows and heard watchtower many times, but this performance of it is better than all the others combined...perfection! GCjr, the crowd energy, the midset appearance...just brilliant
Gary Clark jr. Jimi's soul lives in you, and absolute AMAZING guitarist. Actually in the conversation for best ever. Once in a century talent. Wow, words cant describe.....
Indeed. I HAD seen, live, the Dead do Watchtower...with Carlos Santana as a guest. i Saw Neil Young do it with Booker T and the MG's.. Might be THE best rock song of all.. but you need to REALLY nail it. This did nail it.
Yea, but ya gotta read the lyrics..my boy Dave ain't the best in enunciation of the words to this song but thats me..anyway was blown away when my girlfriend took me to see Dave...the 1st time..I love music..saw commodores with Lionel Richie, Stevie, all the funkatiers bands from BOOSTY COLLIONS IE STAR CHILD & THE landing of the mothership landing (A flying saucer landing on stage!😅)..Rick james on the regular..anyway abt 200 diff stars.. ...and after seeing DAVE hes in my top 10..summer nite & nice concert venue..his array of music is its own standing..great musicians & they hv fun..I even went to see him alone as my girl & I had broke up but had to see my guy & the crowd was always into it, so I met fans who kept me company....gotta see this guy once if you a concert lover....or your cheating yourself.
Crazy to look back at this comment section 10 years later. It appears most viewing this didn’t quite understand they were witnessing a star in the making. Most of the posts giving Gary his flowers are from the last 3-5 years. At least people caught on
Can somebody please explain what I've just witnessed at 7.30mins Gary Clark Jr just tore that guitar a new assho.........😂😂 The camera literally couldn't keep up with the speed of his hands Wow, im literally speechless.....
Gary Clark Jr. is playing the same events as #DMB in Australia this coming week so there's a good chance he'll guest. Gary Clark jr + DMB at Deer Creek in 2012 - (Starting the player by his solo - roll it back if you'd like): ruclips.net/video/UwrTxN4Lfo0/видео.htmlm38s
Awesome job brother. You did a great job with the video and sound. Keep up the great work and I'll keeping posting videos for you to use, when I get them.
This is great! It's just such a young audience. I'm just wondering how many people in that audience know that this is an old Bob Dylan tune from the 60s. My hope is that this generation know the history of rock music. By the way, in my opinion, almost anybody who does a cover of any Bob Dylan tune almost always does it better. But I still have to give kudos to Bob for composing his lyrics and music. He is an icon, even today, as his music is still performed today! It's all good!
Gary you are the shifizz, to all you shredders here's a guitar lesson for you all. D MB you guys are always a pleasure to watch, Carter, you are amazing drummer👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
What a performance !!!! The hand-doctor will have Gary in a wrist brace if he plays that hard too often; permissable only when I'm in the audience. Lol. Love you, Gary.
The beautiful of Gary's solo in this is his timing if the drummer is looking at you like this is because you're going with and against the beat in the best possible way.
It might be difficult turn around for DM but Gary represents the lost soul of true music and performance and there is quite a contrast on that between Gary and DM. What should Dave do to reconquer this lost brilliance? Maybe a restart from the origins and not a repetition of itself...
What if GCJ and Dave would have gone back and fourth singing lines during the verse? Kinda like Cortez the Killer with Warren Haynes. That would have been outrageous
DMB always puts on sick shows at Deer Creek. Phish did too but they’re kinda past it now unfortunately. Deer Creek Red Rocks Alpine Valley and the Gorge in Washington are the best outdoor venues in the country.
Gary Clark Jr. is a flat-out stud... And Tim Reynolds not only taking a back seat but nearly hiding in the background to keep the focus on Gary shows their class and professionalism... Love that stuff.
Good comment

Thank heavens there are still some great musicians out there that can stir your soul.

Give me the Black Keys guitarist, Jack White and Gary Clark Jr and its a trifecta
DMB always puts on sick shows at Deer Creek. Phish did too but they’re kinda past it now unfortunately. Deer Creek Red Rocks Alpine Valley and the Gorge in Washington are the best outdoor venues in the country.
