The GOAT of live bands right here!!
Never been the biggest Dave fan..seen him twice but have the utmost respect for him and his band
Been listening to this every morning when I wake up...Gets the juices flowing in a good way. Hendrix and Dylan are somewhere in this universe with a huge smile on their faces...Well done DMB 👏 this is rocking on another level yall...Keep strumming, peace, and unity to all out there. ❤
Lol well Dylan is still alive and kicking, not to mention touring. I am sure he approves.
There is absolutely no fat on this performance, just pure perfection from start to finish. The band jamming out is just music in it's purest form. I never get tired of them performing this song. Chills every time.
Decades later and this may still be one of the best live performances of all time
Probably his best or in the top 3. This song is #1 for me
You've not seen any live Grateful Dead shows then
Decade later, a horrible version of a great Jimi Hendrix song. You got to be joking dude.
@@alwilson3204 not horrible. Just for the energy the singer brings its already good version
@@alwilson3204It’s a Bob Dylan song, not Jimi Hendrix. Hendrix just covered it.
The drummer is probably the GOAT.
And the Bassist ❤
The Bass Solo is 🙊
@@K92-oz Nah, the base player sucks, at least when it comes to complimenting the phenomenal play of the drummer. That's why Dave occasionally brought in guest bassists like Victor Wooter so that Carter can play with somebody on his same level from time to time.
#pocketaceswashere
no doubt
Hands down one the best renditions of this song...cant even call it a cover...this band took something from dylan and turned it into their own
Hendrix >>>
I will never forget when Dave played this at Red Rocks....incredible
Red Rocks might be the greatest concert venue ever
Awesome saw him there as well
I've yet to see anyone perform at restock....bucket list for sure. . however for 39 I caught 7th row the who ...and first riser Paul McCartney...so if I don't make red rock I'll die happy anyways
This is one of the best live performances I've ever heard
You need to listen to Jimi Hendrix take this one for a ride.
@@binderdundit228 two very different interpretations. Jimi Hendrix's version is legendary. This one is also incredible
@@binderdundit228 Jimi would fucking love this.
💯
The Watchtower, Dave Matthews style..... incredible!
Out of my 30 years of life and love of music, I deem this video and it's 12 minutes and 48 seconds as the greatest musicals performance of all time. Sincerely, nobody.
Just a fantastic rendition of a great song. I have never seen a basist or for that matter each other member of a band perform their individual and collective contributions so so brilliantly.

@@DMTsmoke why are you sending me these two responces. I only agreed with the sentiment expressed by another poster. Yes iv listened many times to every artist or band to which you refer and yes at times in their musical careers they have all expressed the raw emotion that we see in DMB on this occation. Don't preach to the converted its a waste of your obviously well backgrounded talent.
you should of been there!
@@DMTsmoke forgot Eagles
I literally can’t listen to you guys without crying… in such a good, good way. Ty.
Beatiful, baby! Outstanding work; and supreme players! Love, love, love this!!! So briliant! Thank you, Dave and band.....love all of it!!! "...and the wind began to howl...." The brillinat lyrics of Bob Dylan; the power DMB on the end...fire! So fab! Love it! Love it! Love it!
I love dave Matthews is watching his man on the violin like my boys killing it
I fell in love with them when I saw this for the first time. Greatest Band in the world. Period.
Love dave Matthews! Each person is a star in their own right. Legends
Such an awesome performance 💯 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
These guys did a phenomenal job. Kudos.
His breath management is impeccable
This was AWESOME. I’ve never been a huge fan of them but really liked a few songs but this is just unbelievable. One of the best performances I’ve ever seen.
Check out the live version by Pearl Jam with Neil Young.....then there is the Dylan version of this his own song with willie Nelson at Farm aid.
