Please note that this feature is not available on certain GM models, like my wife's 2011 Traverse. About a year ago, I bought a couple of blank fobs and a "fastlink" OBD programmer on e-bay. I had the new and 1 old working fob programmed in less than 5 minutes. It worked great! It was way less expensive than going to a dealer or locksmith.
what if you do not have the relearn option?
I have a working remote but no option for relearn key remote

I had to buy a doorman program kit. It came with two remotes and a obd2 adapter

Certain model GM vehicles do not have this learn feature available. I know my wife's 2011 Traverse did not have it (I don't think it was available 2011-2016). So, about a year ago, I purchased a Fastlink OBD GM Key Fob Programmer on eBay for about $50 + a couple of unprogrammed fobs. I think I got the blank fobs on Amazon. The programmer allows you to do unlimited (no token limit) programs on this and several other GM vehicles. It was super easy to use and I had i had all the fobs programmed in about 5 minutes. Note, you would need to reprogram any existing good fobs that you have at the same time. Even at $50, it was way cheaper than taking it to a dealer or locksmith.
