      @domdrty Год назад

      Remote start? Your truck has to have the module for remote start, and the remote start fobs have a 4th button to start the vehicle. The good news is if you have a 2008-2013 Silverado LT trim or higher you can have the factory remote start installed. I had mine done years ago. It was about $350 at the dealership.

      REMOTE PROGRAMMING (For vehicles WITHOUT the Driver Information Center (D.I.C.))
      1. Enter the vehicle, close, and unlock all doors using the power lock switch on the driver’s door.
      2. Insert a key into the ignition and switch the key as far to the ON position as it will go without starting.
      3. Using the trip/odometer reset button, press and release until “RELEARN REMOTE KEY is displayed on the dashboard display.
      4. Press and hold the trip/odometer button until “REMOTE KEY LEARNING ACTIVE” is displayed on the dash.
      Once “REMOTE KEY LEARNING ACTIVE” is displayed on the dash, you have successfully entered programming mode and are ready to program your new remotes.
      5. On the first remote you wish to program, press and hold the “LOCK” and “UNLOCK” buttons at the same time and hold for up to fifteen (15) seconds. You should hear an audible chime from the vehicle to indicate that the remote has been programmed successfully. If no chime is heard, release the buttons and try holding them down again.
      6. Repeat STEP 5 for all remotes you wish to program. You can program up to four (4) remotes total.
      7. Once you have programmed all your remotes, exit the programming mode by turning the key off and removing it from the ignition.
      8. Test all remotes to ensure they are functioning. If any did not program, restart the programming procedure from STEP 1 and switch the order in which you are programming the remotes.

    bought a reprogrammer for my 2009 Chevy cobalt LT and after I programmed a fob to it, my engine light came on. I ran the code reader and got a p0700 code and u0073 code. This makes no sense why it came on right after I did this but it’s been fine. I only have 89k miles. Any help/ideas why please?

    • @d10dozerman2
      @d10dozerman2 2 года назад +1

      The P0700 code indicates that there's a malfunction with your vehicle's (TCM) Transmission Control Module. This computer monitors your transmission and works with the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and Engine Control Module (ECM) to shift gears when necessary. First make sure the battery is properly connected. If there is a loose connection, this can cause the code to appear. Additionally, make sure the ground is clean and free of any corrosion. If there is any build-up on the ground, it can cause problems with the electrical system and lead to the U0073 code.

      @@elcamaron19 I don’t think you can just get it installed. Look in your glove box and there should be an extremely long list of 3 digit codes. If yours has ap8 somewhere on it you should be able to buy a new key with remote start buttons and get it programmed. If you can’t program it the dealer should be able to.
