This made it muuuuuch easier to swap out instead of reprogramming!!! You're awesome!!
Thanks for posting this video. I really only needed to see inside and how they are assembled. Swapped both of my new 2015 fob for the old worn out fobs. Broke the old ones in the process of getting the circut boards out. Those suckers have really good locks. Great video my man. Thanks again.
Mexican household 😂 #relatable
thanks for video. Very helpful. Glad I dont have to buy new keyless entry and program it. Just swap chips with new case. Thanks!
You have to remove the cover from behind the battery to get it out. If you force it out from the front, it will break - like it did on yours.
What do you mean?
Nice, looks good jorge, I need to do this to mine.. Keep up the good work.
There’s another back that come off to install battery
I need to go ahead and order me those side mirrors 😍😍
thanks for showing us how to take the key fob apart!!!!!!!!
Did you figure it out??? I dont want to break mine
Thanks for the video, Jorge! Can I use the OEM metal/chrome pieces on the new case?
Honestly not sure because my keys weren't the fancy ones so I'm not sure if they are compatible
Estás pero bien guey!!! The battery has its own cover that you remove to get access to it! But your video was “OK”!!! lol chale dile a la raza que keep it down when you doing videos ese!!!!!
Simón. Mejor as un video tu para que nos enseñes.
The back pops off to install the battery....LOL
Whats the lights in the wheel well I need, 😊I seen ones for rims but not these?
They are rock lights
Hey did order or made them ur self for the led running light on the mirrors
Yeah bro
Wat size and how can I do them my self
How do you take the chrome parts off you should of showed that
Mine didn't have any chrome, the ones I bought already came apart
Yeah mine I just broke them off since I bought a new remote I was trying to find a video on how to safely take those off but screw it
So..... you didn’t have to program the new key fob? I’m assuming since you just swapped the board over it was already programmed.
Correct. Is cheaper, functional and looks better.
Might want to change the battery while your at it. I forgot to mention it on the video
Good deal, will do. I just ordered a new key fob and dealership wants $55 to program it. So I think I’ll just swap it all over like you did and be done. Was it hard to get the cases open?
@@ManuelMoctezuma no, all you need is like a guitar pick or something thin to pry it open
Thanks for your help man!! Just got a new(to me) 2014 GMC Sierra sle it’s super nice but the fob is wore out so I want to replace lol I’ll be posting a video of it soon check it out
I wonder why I keep having to replace my battery so often?
Either bad batch of batteries or your remote chip has issues and is constantly drawing power
So...is no one going to address that when he pushed the battery in his thumb was backwards at 90 degrees???
Yeah, I can push really hard with my thumb and it won’t bend in that direction
Do you have to reprogram fob?
No, because your switching your inner parts to the new Fob, is just incase you have the regular work truck Fob or if you other Fob plastics broke and you need a new casing
If you’re making a “how to video” why would you start the video without showing “how” you took it apart. Moreover, when you got to a difficult part of “how to” you pause the video ?
How’d you remove the chrome pieces?
This is an aftermarket keyfob and they just pop off
he does not know,
& probably broke them
@@Jorge.Rangel just got through replacing it. If you've got enough fingernail, start on THE SIDE, IN THE MIDDLE of the chrome pieces where they join the body of the fob. If you bite your fingernails...... stop...... and get a VERY thin knife or screw driver. It's less than a five minute project. Pop off the side rails, The case will easily separate at this point. CAREFULLY,
with a very small screwdriver (I used the edge of my fingernail), lift off the circuit board from the bottom (where the two black pegs come through the board, and the rest of the board will lift right out. Carefully align the old circuit board in the new housing, snap the chrome pieces on and you're back in business. Hold on to the new circuit board........ if the old circuit board gives up the ghost at some point in the future, all you'd need to do is put in the new board......... then have it programmed by a locksmith........ or the dealer...... if you've got more money than common sense. Good luck!
Next: get a stand for your phone , you know!!
Where did you get your tow mirrors? And could you forward a link?
It was from eBay, no longer available but is the cheap kind with only heated and turn signal
@@Jorge.Rangel were they pretty much straight forward plug and play?
@@ryanmyers3753 yes and no, if you have those functions then yes it will just plug and play. If you don't, like me then you have to run the wiring or buy a custom harness
@@Jorge.Rangel thank you so much
How do you open the silver sides?
No answer
@@stukeating58 got it opened but it was hard to figure out! It worked out fine!
Hello.
I just did the the disassembling.
You need to break your old fob .
Pry the chrome pieces from the key fob from the end with the key chain . Once the chrome piece comes up a little, rip it off.
No saving your old fob!
Same for other side.
Replace the board and snap it back together.
I just tested my Amazon remote . Worked great.
All of the functions.
If your old remote is bad, who cares hoe destroyed it gets. I tried but put two wholes in my finger trying to save the old case.
Frig it! Just don't screw up the board.
New case looksand feels great.
Why do you tubers think they are intelligent.
Bro you should replace the battery while your there .. ebay
How did you add in your remote start and how much did it run you?
Jorge Rangel Ok I figured that's the route you went because it worked on your fob. I think it's going to be a future purchase for me. Next is the ltz front bumper and tow mirrors
So if you just switch it over it won't remote start?
I think the 14-19 body style comes from the factory with remote start, at least mine did any it's lower trim level
You didnt show how to open the old fob...
Just pops open. Use any flat pry tool or flathead screw driver
U didn't do the battery rite bro.the back comes off of the battery side.
It's a 2032 I belive
Jorge Rangel lol cool .
What about the chrome lol this video is absolutely no help at alll
This is not an oem keyfob, it came already apart and I just transfer the pieces over.
Why wouldn’t you change that nasty battery. A 4 pack is 8 bucks from Duracell. 1 is .50 online. On those fobs positive is faces the back cover not the board. You should have told people that. Also why not show the back battery cover when doing a video like this to show that you don’t pry the whole thing apart when just changing the battery. Come on man!!!! Get it together :)
Make a video for us. Thanks
Seriously, the most difficult part is removing the side pieces. pretty sure you broke the clips, COM' ON MAN, post it all ; This is not the correct way to anyone watching this
Useless vid, I had to figure out how to get my battery out. You don’t have to pull out the metal clips. You have to pull the plastic plates apart to access the battery...
No shit, it says fob replacement not battery replacement
