Louise is a magnificent painter and teacher.
The squirrels face is adorable. I love the tail too
Thank you Lisa.
He has personality. Love your art work. Nancy Williams
Whilst the ‘inferior ‘ first art work was stunning ,the second shows absolutely the meaning of ‘ watercolour’. 😍
Excellent Work, Louise. I really like the way you teach. It has helped me out 10 fold. Thank you
So glad! Thanks Richard.
Best tutor to learn with and delightful woman🥰
Thanks very much Jody. 💕
That little squirrel is sooo adorable and what a cute face! I love your mixed media squirrel too! Such lovely creations! 🧡🧡🧡
I love the glow that Gamboge gives, thank you for filming this work as it progressed. As always I am inspired. Keep safe.
Thanks Jake, you too!
Love the outtakes
Wonderful painting!! And I love your outtakes at the end😄😄
Thank you very much Fergie.
My dear, I love your paintings and explanations. I find them very helpful. I recently received some watercolor in tubes and I've swatched them and realized just how potent they are. Your bloopers area great too. By the way, your original squirrel picture I thought was great. I do see there is a lot of sharp detail, but I just love it. The new squirrel is so chubby and fun. Thank you for your videos. ♥♥♥
LOL....squirrels are some of the cutest creatures on God's green Earth! Looking forward to this on your Patreon, Louise!
Thank you JT!
Very nice! Thank you!
Thank you Tanja.
Well done
I appreciate the work that went into your first picture but this painting feels so loose and free and is so appealing! What a sweet squirrel! Thanks for sharing your techniques for the soft fur edges!🥰
Thank you very much 💕.
Really helpful tips on painting fur, especially the ears with a blend of hard and soft edges.
Glad it was helpful. Thanks Jenny.
Oh so sweet. Very useful tutorial!
I absolutely love your style of painting and can actually recognise your work, even before I see your name. And you have the nicest, calmest, un-rushed voice, which makes for excellent teaching. Thank you so much for another wonderful tutorial x
That is my problem I always want to put alot of detail into my work and do all the fur details....I will need to try this and do a more loose painting with my water colors...Love how you done this one!
Amazing your work. I like it
Wowww. Thank you!! The cutest squirrel ever
Thank you Elizabeth.
Love your work always.
Thank you Diane.
Just Wow!! Love it dear❤️❤️

Love you so, Louise. It’s so rare to find such an accomplished watercolorist who is also an excellent teacher. Thank you so much for your hard work and generosity!
Adorable 👍☺
Louise.... thank you.... I have been looking for a squirrel picture to paint... I love this little guy. We have many of them playing in our yard through out all 4 seasons. The red squirrel is cute and very entertaining providing my husband and I many hours of enjoyment watching them....
When I saw this tutorial.... I was very grateful and am looking forward to the full tutorial in the new year on Your Patreon Channel. Your monthly Patreon fees are the best investment I could have made to further my paintings skills. Thank you. I am so glad that I saw your RUclips tutorials and heard about your Patreon site. Have a great day.
Thanks so much Cynthia! I'm so happy our paths crossed too. 🥰
I appreciate seeing an earlier painting that is photo-realistic, and seeing how you painted the same subject with much more artistic expressions, while fully taking advantage of the nature of watercolor. I am still a novice watercolorist, but I insist on practicing with the same tenets, use only big brushes, resist from fussing with the details, and learn to master water control. These are tough to do but I see my progress precisely because it is difficult. Your demonstration is very helpful as it shows me how a master does it correctly. Thank you!
Looking good!
Hello Louise, it’s me again😊 Ignore my previous message.....this morning while I was drinking my coffee....I found this little guy🥰😅. Last night I was looking for a squirrel in the owls session🤪. Many thanks 🙏 for these lessons and techniques....very helpful and my subject for the day 🐿 💫
Maravillosa Louise.
I was just wondering yesterday if you were perhaps taking Christmas off. Plus, a friend has just asked me to paint a squirrel and I had to say that fur wasn't my fortay....but this seems serendipitous -- think I'll give it a try. You have a real gift, not only for watercolours but for teaching as well! Once again, thank you so much.
Also those outtakes are the best LOL!!
Thanks for this lovely lesson....my best wishes❤
You're most welcome. Thanks Ila.
What a cute little guy he is! I appreciate this tutorial so much. Lately I’ve been painting a lot of dogs and I completely agree with you on fur. ❤️
I can’t wait to paint this adorable little squirrel! Will be joining your Patreon in January as I’ve loved your Skillshare tutorials. Thank you so much, Louise. You’re a wonderful teacher.
Me encanta!!!! Es tan bello 😍😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️❤️
This is so inspiring. I'm learning a lot from you😊 thank you!
I'm so glad! Thanks Mary.
Delightful! Looking forward to trying this!
Thanks Lydia.
Lovely
Great demonstration on painting fur which I struggle with.
We are always chasing those darn squirrels away from our bird feeder. If I saw one with that face, I would probably be hand feeding him🤣
Lol- thanks Mary. I've never seen a squirrel in real life. One day....hopefully! 😀
@@waymire01 interesting! We will have to try this. I do hate chasing them away all the time.
@@waymire01 thank you! I will be visiting my Tractor Supply store soon!!
It’s gorgeous
I think this was one of your best works! But don’t be too hard on yourself... the first squirrel I thought was awesome as well. Think squirrels are fluffy why this technique looks so good. I really love you angeled the background color. Makes squirrel pop! You are so talented. Thanks for sharing ❤️😊
Fabulous - well, what else! So looking forward to the full length tutorial ;-) I am working on the white cat at the moment - loving it! Thank you Louise.
Both painting are BEAUTIFUL! I also do not have the patience for the first one though. Thank you for taking such great techniques!
Adorable squirrel! After watching one of your earlier videos I joined Skillshare, and enjoyed one of your tutorials - quite nice!
Pps he is beautifu I can't wait for him to be on Patreon 😍
Beautiful painting Louise, I love his little face😊, I love your choice of colours, warm and softly looking. Can we hope for a Patreon tutorial in the New Year. ‘Be try to found the sketch, but could not identify which squirrel this one was..... Have a beautiful weekend🥰💞🎄
Magnifique! trop mignon cet écureuil!
Merci!
So cute! Love it!
I just love this one, so cute!
What a cutie and sorry but I dont mean your hubby🤭🤭 I love squirrels. The turorial was excellent but I particularly loved the first one you and I actually love putting the fine detail in, do you advertise your sketches or practise pis in your shop?. Do you do many coloured pencil drawings Louise? Another thumbs up👍👍👍
Hello Louise😊. I love this little smiley squirrel face, thank you ☺️. I will try to paint with the you tube version 👍. Maybe 2021 will bring a Patreon version. Can I ask if you used Sepia on the inside of the ears....or the VanDyke brown? I’ve decided to joined Skillshare in order to get access to the Galah tutorial and the roses. My first preference is PATREON,.....I found Skillshare would be a + if I was to used more than one artist on the platform, in my case I only use the platform to be able to have access to your tutorials that are not on PATREON. I would not mind paying more for the PATREON....and have access to the tutorials on Skillshare. Does that makes sense..... Thank you 🙏
Hi Jacinthe, Thank you! The squirrel will be on Patreon soon (either February or March). I think I used both Van Dyke Brown and Sepia in the ears. I like to keep the content different on each platform because I have patrons who have also joined Skillshare. I will be painting a new galah tutorial for Patreon this year. 💕
🌹🌹🌹
Hi Louise
Could you please tell me where to buy the circular watercolour palette that is shown at the very beginning of your videos.
Just love your work, watch each one more than once, in case I miss something! Thank you 🤩
Hi June. Thank you! Robert from Robax Engineering in the US made it for me. I have a video here on RUclips that's all about the palette ruclips.net/video/9z6L856PnNA/видео.html The link is in the description of that video.
Hi Louise do you lay your piece flat while working on it or do you have a slight angle. I find I am beginning to hunch while working on my piece while it's flat which is causing some physical discomfort .
P.s. great interview with Nina Rycroft 😁
Thanks Karen. Most of the time I work flat but I do sometimes work on an angle particularly if my neck is giving me trouble. It helps if I don't have to hunch over it so much.
Thanks Louise 😁
I have a squirrel that has taken up residency in my roof. My housing association is creating a drama, so I've decided to paint a watercolour squirrel. That seems the most sensible response given the current situation 🤣
Could you tell me the branch of your round brush? I really like it.
Da Vinci brushes - I use them and love them - another round that keeps a nice point is Raphael Kolinsky 8404 awesome
Da Vinci Maestro series 35. 💕
@@LouiseDeMasi thank you!
@@nancyjordan8130 famous and expensive !
Very cute squirrel. How the background color was blended in without messing the fur?
😍😍😍
Just saw the squirrel tut. and wonder if the full length tutorial is already avaliable? Thanks.
Hi Simone. It's on my Patreon site. Thanks.
he is so gorgeous I would just like to cuddle him ! thank you,Julie Zieve Zimbabwe
Thanks Julie.
Do you stretch your paper wet or dry?
😍😍
Do you trace the squirrel (or whatever animal) or draw it freehand?
when I do wet on wet, it the paint spreads too much to make it look like lines and objects. How do you control the amount of water to pigment to only get a little spread instead of a star burst?
