Thanks very much for your the beautiful skills showing to us. It is very helpful. I would like to learn how to paint loose peony flower please. There are in full bloom in my garden. I would love to try painting them. Thanks very much 🌹
Do have suggestions for those of us working with a tight budget? Items such as equitable substitutes for materials and equipment. What is the better environment to accomplish a decent piece? Choices for lighting, etc.? I have a plethora of questions regarding framing and preserving a finished painting and of methods of storing and displaying, and so on... Thank you, again, for sharing!
Have you done a watercolour tutorial using wet on wet with "triad" colors or "intuitive" colors? I am a beginner but I have seen this a few times on other RUclips artists such as Anna Mason or Andrew Geeson. Love to see one by you.
I would love to see how you would paint something like a bull moose and a horse. So often their coats have such a uniform color that finding highlights and low lights can be hard as well as being able to communicate fur and hair textures. Thank you for so willingly sharing your talent and experience!
Being a beginner, I found hard and soft edges mystifying. Thanks to your wonderful tutorial I am able to understand the process. Your art is truly breathtaking!
I learned more about watercolor edges and water control from this 15 minute video than the previous 10 videos on edges that I've watched on other channels. Some people are artists and some can teach but Louise De Masi is wonderful at both. I'm so fortunate to have found her channel!
This is, unequivocally, the best how to RUclips video I have ever watched (and I’ve watched thousands). Full of detailed, useful information and wonderfully helpful examples. Thank you SO much, Louise!
Those are amazing videos. You're not only an stunning artist but also a great teacher. The same patience you spend on your drawings go into your explanations. I could follow very well and learned a lot. Thank you!
Your tutorials are brilliant because you take the time to explain the reasons WHY you do or don't do certain things. When you know the reasons WHY to do (or not to do) something then it all makes sense!
Thank for all these helpful tips. This is the only youtube video that does not concentrate in softselling watercolor materials. I love how you are really sharing your art. ❤💜💙
best explanation of hard and soft edges and I have watched a ton of tutorials. Glad that I came across your tutorial. I will be watching all of them from now on.
Louise you are a wonderful teacher! Your watercolor painting techniques adds professional worth to the artful composition ( so pleasant to the admirer's eye). Thank you for sharing your expertise !
Excellent video! I am changing my Patreon membership to the top tier today! I learn so much from your videos. Thank you for sharing your talents with us. Your voice and filming are top notch! I especially love the bloopers!
Thank you. I think I finally understand why even my hard edges come out soft and blurry and just messy looking. This is such a helpful video. Will be checking out the rest of your channel.
Thank you so much!!!!! I've been struggling with all of the things you discussed here and after extensive research, your videos finally explained exactly the problem and exactly the solution!! No other video I've watched has been able to so clearly explain all of this. Instant fan ❤
Thank you so much for sharing your gift with the world. These videos are not only educational, but also reduces anxiety. Going to begin painting straight away.
Thanks Louise for the helpful advice. Also your watercolour paintings are AMAZING! Must take alot of patience and practise to produce such clean and vibrant work- especially the dark background with pink bird gives lovely effect ;)
Possibly one of your best tutorials! You are so generous with information thank you! This has me seeing and correcting a few habits I've fallen into. Listening to you intentionally choose a combination of hard and soft edges was wonderful😁
wow, you are as acomplished as an artist as you are as a teacher, love the artistry in your work and I really appreciate your detailed and considered instruction, thank you so much for sharing : )
I enjoy all your videos but this is the one I keep coming back to rewatch. You are so thorough in your demonstration of soft edges and I often see something that I missed the first time around. Thank you so much.
First class tutorial! Thank you! You explain and demonstrate intent, and pitfalls, and what-ifs so well. Honestly, I could not ask for more! And to come away without any extra questions proves what a thorough teaching job you've done. And as a freebie youtube video as well! Outstanding! Cannot thank you enough!
You're very kind. I'm so pleased you are enjoy them. It makes my time making them so much more worthwhile. Thank you also for always taking the time comment. It's very much appreciated. x
Excellent video! The part where you explain laying down the water then keeping the paint within that and away from the edge for the soft edge was a light bulb moment for me! Thank you! I hadn't ever conscientiously done that before. Can't wait to give it a try!
At last! I've had so many questions answered in you tutorial. THANK YOU - watching youtube tutorials can be so frustrating when people repeat the same 'techniques' over and over without putting them in the context of an actual artwork, and you've done just that. Superb :)
Slowly, steady, clearly tutorial I ever seen. You are are great artist as well as teacher. Thank you for sharing your tips and guidance. Love your works lots! I have no fear of making mistakes and application! Thanks and thanks!
Excellent video, the best on edges I have seen in years. Your videos are a new discovery for me, thank you so much for the effort you put into making them!
Te veo desde el extremo sur de América en Chile en una ciudad casi al fin del continente y me maravilla tu experiencia, la belleza de tus obras y el compartir todo ello. Gracias
Just watched your lovely video tour of your lovely painting room. What a lovely view you have it’s spectacular. I also use one of my bedrooms as a painting room as children have left home. You are a lucky girl and your paintings are beautiful, thanks Louise for sharing, enjoy your painting in that beautiful art room.
Thank you for this clear video on one of the most difficult things in watercolor. Love the way you teach. And love your work. Especially your colors and the way you use texture. You make me wanna practise and go paint. So thanxxx again, hope to see a lot more. Am bingewatching you on Skillshare, but these short video's I enjoy even more. So much info in such a short time! Keep up the good work.
Thank you so much for your shared knowledge and talent. Being a novice watercolorist your tips are greatly appreciated. I am learning so much by watching your videos. Again thank you.
Superb instructional! Actually piqued my interest in trying watercolors as an genuine alternative to my preferred oils. Your work is absolutely stunning. One more grateful subscriber here. Thank you for sharing!!!
Thanks for the tutorial, you are a very good instructor! I love your rose painting, would really appreciate a tutorial on how you captured the light and shadow so beautifully.
This was very helpful. I really like the demonstrations. Makes so much sense. I'm thinking I need to make a bunch of squares on paper and try and replicate the errors and then correct them or improve on them. Thank you for the video ♥♥♥
Thank you so much Louise for sharing all your techniques with us. I am so enjoying watching your videos! You are an excellent teacher and wonderful artist. I really want to soften the way I paint in watercolours as I paint with my watercolours very like I do when I use coloured pencils and it is hard to tell the difference between the 2 mediums. I learned how to paint in watercolour using botanical art techniques but I also love it when watercolour looks like watercolour. I will need to do my best to hold back and not paint everything I see.😂 I have been watching all your videos and your artwork is very beautiful and inspirational. I love your youtube channel and I also follow you on Instagram.🙏💞
Thank you very much Carla. I love detail but, like you, not so much detail that you can no longer tell that it's watercolour. Thank you for taking the time to write. xx
Your tutorial was right on time. I have been thinking about painting a floral painting, you are the greatest. Also if possible could you do a tutorial on autumn leaves? Much appreciated thank you.
john kamerling this is a particularly good idea now, cos so many of the watercolour tutors I subscribe to are on the opposite side of the world, and it’s all spring/summer themes at the moment. We need some autumn/winter palettes and subjects Down Under!
Very thankful and ready to have...a new start in watercolors ☺ As to suggestions you asked for, maybe I could suggest alpine flowers and wildflowers 🍀🌼 Thanks again and geetings from the Alps 🦅🌲🌲
If there are any particular watercolour techniques you'd like me to do a tutorial on please let me know in the comments below.
