I still love watching you because you take your time so you can get your Demo down on your art paper . I will always say you or a number one artist at everything you do with art. Thanks Again ❤👏
i love the idea of doing more rare or unique flowers. While beautiful, i get tired of the same old roses, peonies, poppies and sunflowers that everyone does.
I also love the rare flowers (eventually I get a little bored of roses 😆 ) Jenna’s painted quite a few variations of blooms over the years m.ruclips.net/video/gckb2v2ut4c/видео.html
WOW!!! This is a gorgeous flower. Love how the petal edges are "curly"!! I'm going to put this on my watercolor TO DO list. YAY!!!! 🌼 TFS. Austin TX USA
Thank you so much, this is so helpful and your work so beautiful. White flowers are so delicate and a bit intimidating but you make it look achievable.😊
I don't typically like painting flowers but this one was fabulous. I used a dagger brush through the entire positing and it worked perfectly thank you.
Beautiful! I love your videos as I have been trying my hand a watercolor. I grow iris and have wanted to paint them. Could give a painting demonstration on an iris?
Beautiful Jenna!!❤I loved watching you create the drawing of the flower. I have a question…lately I have been bombarded with ads for the Lucy (tracer?) telling me how it will improve my drawing technique. I would like to know what you think about it. Thank you for the beautiful painting, I don’t know if you have done a hydrangea, Ian trying but it always comes out looking flat, like a squashed bunch of little flowers.😂
Lovely flower. Reminds me of magnolias a bit, so I was unsurprised to hear it's native to Georgia. And suddenly I want to watch Steel Magnolias for the eleventy billionth time. Also, I don't know why some people want to discard flat brushes into just the "wash brush" category. You can do SO much. I once painted a view of Mt. Vesuvius from within the ruins of Pompeii almost exclusively with a 1/2" flat brush. I did switch to a #4 round for some details on the columns and brickwork and some of the greenery on the flanks of the volcano, but I'd say a good 90% was done with the flat. Super versatile brush.
Wow, that's striking! I'd like to see you teach a Jack in the Pulpit or a Lady Slipper. For another white type flower, I'd love to see a Monotropa Uniflora Ghost Plant Indian Pipe. They are really cool looking.
Thank you Jenna for all your hard work, generous (& funny:) spirit and beautiful talent. I am just starting my watercolour journey…. Just picked up a brush a few weeks ago…. I AM hooked! Seriously, why did I not start this earlier?! :). Cheers JJ
This is so pretty Jenna. By the way, I just purchased some of the maimeriBlu watercolor paint tubes from Blick. I can't wait to try them! Thank you for the links and all the help you give here on RUclips!
Exquisite! For my art class this week our homework is to draw and watercolor a botanical flower. I’m going to adopt some of your techniques (dark background and dark pencil line ) to give my flowers (photos from my last summer’s garden) a vintage look! Thank you , Jenna!
I love your videos, thank you for t aching me to paint flowers! I don't know if you have done red calla lilies, I just love the vibrant colors in them and would love to know how u would paint them! Thank you again!
That is so beautiful, the dark green background intimidates me re: bloom marks etc , but it's gorgeous I've been trying to perfect an Iris but not having much success , I'd love a video on that
Lovely tutorial ! And so interesting about this “tree flower” . I wonder if this is like the Magnolia tree, as they do have visual similarities. Thanks for sharing! ❤
Thanks, I am new to all this. This is the first of your videos I have watched. Just one thing - I would have liked to have seen the original photo a few times As we went along.
Hullo Jenna, such a wonderful tutorial! I believe that this is the most meticulous floral painting I have seen you create! I heard tree flower and Dogwood jumped into my thoughts! I have never seen a video of that tree flower either, a tulip tree sure. I am wondering about how you might have done your background without gouache? Do you always mix your mediums? I am enjoying watching you create your florals, truly lovely! Thank you for sharing so much with us.
Love that this was a rare flower! Have you seen Chocolate Cosmos? That would make a beautiful candidate for MaiMeri Dragonsblood. 🌼 Also, I love the delicate petals of Apricot Pearl Geum --- would love to learn how to capture that translucency.
Jenna, this Instruction is awesome! I'm in Georgia and haven't heard of this flower. Question: how to paint the little "Bread & Butter" daffodils now blooming in my yard. They are much smaller than the regular yellow daffodil. My problem is that their petals are a VERY Pale Yellow White. Close to "cream" but with a bit/hint of yellow. I got stumped last night, trying to paint them. Do you have any recommendations?
What hardness of pencil do you use? I haven't drawn or painted in 30 years, and asked for, and received a pencil set for Christmas. I'm excited, and nervous, about getting started.
Are you familiar with the Himalayan blue poppy, also known as mecanopsis? We grew two of them many years ago. The blue colour was so beautiful. I have a picture I took of one of them but I don’t know how to put it in the comments
Hello! I am new to your videos and buying the recommended supplies. I’d like to get the new bloom brush you recommend. Dick blick says they are back ordered and your Amazon link goes to filbert brushes in different sizes. Is there a place you can recommend that I might purchase it?
Hey Pamela! Welcome to my channel! So that brush sold out fast after I announced it, that's why the size 12 doesn't show up in Amazon. My best suggestion is to make the order through Blick, and they will send it to you when they have it (I heard that should be mid-march).

I like the use of the gouache to give it the feeling of an old fashioned botanical style.
I would like to see you paint the Bird of Paradise flower.
Lovely flower. Reminds me of magnolias a bit, so I was unsurprised to hear it's native to Georgia. And suddenly I want to watch Steel Magnolias for the eleventy billionth time.

Thanks, I am new to all this. This is the first of your videos I have watched. Just one thing - I would have liked to have seen the original photo a few times As we went along.

I have a night blooming cactus flower I have been wanting to paint, but don't know how to provide it here 😢
What hardness of pencil do you use? I haven't drawn or painted in 30 years, and asked for, and received a pencil set for Christmas. I'm excited, and nervous, about getting started.
Oh wow!!!!! What a beautiful flower, did you learn about the flower from your mom? I always learn new flowers and gardening tips from your mom 🦋
do you have tutorial for lilies?
It was a great tutorial, can we have carnation next time please 🙏🏼
Love carnations!!
Are you familiar with the Himalayan blue poppy, also known as mecanopsis? We grew two of them many years ago. The blue colour was so beautiful. I have a picture I took of one of them but I don’t know how to put it in the comments
It looks very much like a Gordonia . Which is A large shrub we have in Australia
Australia always has the most unique flowers and birds! 🌸
I've seen many guoach pallets that seal ..do you have trouble with the open guoach pallet... what would you suggest for a guoach pallet?
do you have to seal a watercolour painting?
I'm new to watercolor and Can't draw. Do you offer traceables?
In Jenna’s everyday watercolour flowers book you will find the contour drawing, which could be traced 🌸📐✏️
What does this technique of a pencil plus a pencil drawing do? Does it force you to use your entire hand to sketch? Why?
@@JennaRaineyChannel , thank you! I’ll do that.
❤
Have you ever considered a tutorial for a bleeding heart flower? ( Latin name for it is dicentra)
The bleeding heart is a fun flower because it is heart-shaped.
