Hi Karen, I have been painting 40 years + (not very well) You are the first person I have found to really explain and show wonderful techniques. I always look forward to your FABULOUS tutorials. Thank you so much. Elizabeth from Cheshire uk
I just tried painting this picture but didn’t have masking fluid so I just lifted paint off paper to add flowers and added lavender and then dark purple. Although this was just a practice as this was my first landscape it turned out pretty good. I am pleased!
Hi Karen. This painting is so beautiful. The flowers you painted look like Allium blossoms. They are such a pretty flower. Thanks for the tutorial and have a lovely day!
I'm always impressed how you manage to take a fairly uninspiring photo and make a painting that looks so much better, but without actually adding detail. That's the magic. I've tried several of your pictures now and each has come out really well.
So beautiful I’m envious. Which is good. So much work to do to improve my technique. Thank you so much for all that you share. It’s library books and RUclips videos that I learn from.

Lovely. Lovely. Lovely! Thank you for narrating your videos so well. It really helps me understand the whys and hows. I look forward to trying this. Thank you for your tutorials!❤️
I just finished my take on this one. The masking tape didn't really work out for me, but I did manage to get a nice little painting out of this tutorial. Yours is beautiful!
That’s great to hear. 😊 If you had an issue with removing the masking tape, use a hairdryer as it softens the glue and prevents it from tearing your watercolour paper.
Thank you for describing in detail the colors and color blends that you use as you go along. And also saying that “this is a technique I recently learned” so that we know even experienced painters are constantly learning! Beautiful painting!
As a beginner, I really liked the detail that you gave about paint colors, brush type and sizes, and techiques. It seemed like more than many of your previous videos that I watched. I am a "like all the information I can get in details person."
This video is so beautiful - thank you for your detailed description with the information about the colors and color mixtures. I will have a lot of fun painting the picture. Greetings from Germany 😊
Beautiful painting with wonderful techniques, Karen! It was like unwrapping a gift to see what the surprise is when you were removing the masking fluid and those beautiful flowers appeared!
Iove the masking fluid trick Karen, I'm going slightly mad at the moment painting king Arthur for our themed art group exhibition, I'm not a portrait artist so I'm turning to your skills for some inspiration, thank you this is a beautiful painting ☺
This is so pretty! I really enjoy your tutorials, you do a great job explaining watercolours. Never actually heard of the masking fluid before. Now I know what supply I need to get next. Thank you so much.
Thanks Karen and for the tutorial on wetting the paper front and back. I had tried that in our dry climate but made a mess but will try it again! Beautiful work!
Beautifully painted, Karen! You are so very talented. I will attempt this soon but I know it won't be a patch on yours! Thank you very much for such a Gorgeous tutorial. Love, Mel 🍰🌻
So. Much. Fun. What an enjoyable video and such a doable concept. I’m thinking of doing this one as we get closer to the end of winter so I can start dreaming of spring and summer at that time. Thank you for sharing your wonderful ideas.

I just found your channel and subscribed. This was such a wonderful thing for me to find. I have MS. My handshake and I can do this and I have all the tools. I look forward to learning a lot more. Thank you so much! We can now paint flowers
I love how fresh your painting looks Karen! I tried this twice, and from the fence up it came out great, but my mix of grasses looked to muddy and even though I painted the flowers first, then used mask over them as you did, they just looked dull once I took the mask off. Perhaps it was the mask I used, but it's a good one, so it must be the strength of color I used underneath. Great tutorial though!
Thanks so much. Really pleased you like the tutorial. Maybe experiments using so different colours and shades for the flowers. Then apply the masking fluid and see how that goes… Good luck.
