Oh my gosh I saw it too! I see things like that everywhere.. like yesterday i saw a life size camel with humps and everything in a pile of snow lol! 😃 (I live in Alaska) It's called "Pareidolia" in technical terms, but I Love seeing faces and things like that.. glad I'm not the only one!😁 It seems like it happens to creative people much more often.. ❤
This reminds me of the birches in Maine. ❤❤❤ this painting and your technique. I can’t wait to try on my next painting and following your tutorial. Thank you so much for doing this because I can’t speak others but just for myself. I’m disabled and am on a very limited fixed income. I can’t afford art lessons and I love watercolor. You and artist like you who care enough to share your talent, your passion, your skill, your techniques, tips and tricks really help people like me. Thank you so much.❤❤❤❤❤

Very nice; I like the sharp stick work! But please, everyone: I know birches are popular (have painted them myself) but do keep in mid that the black patches (usually branch scars) don't just occur on the edges of the trunk, but all over it!

This is simply mesmerizing to watch the unfolding mystery. Your voice is hypnotic. The way you elaborate the chemistry of the different hues is a memorable experience. Thanks for sharing your expertise here.
I love birch trees and these are the best I've seen demonstrated. These are so nicely done. The shapened end of the paint brush is an idea so interesting as I find using different objects to spread paint is something I enjoy seeing. Thanks for sharing this.

Thanks a million for the time you invest in making these videos for students like myself! It’s greatly, greatly appreciated!
I really like your technique on the birch trees by leaving them white and adding the dark areas. One other lesson that I watched she painted them dark and then added the white. Yours looks much more realistic.
❤ definitely going to watch this again and paint along. Love the idea of sharpening the end of an old brush and mixing oil pastels and using salt to create texture

This is an excellent tutorial for an absolute beginner. Simple shapes, no need for a pencil sketch. I followed along, and it's the first complete painting that I've done (twice). I'm having trouble retaining my lights, probably exacerbated by working on A5 (the only good quality paper I have), but both paintings got a "that's amazing!" from my 14-year-old son. And that's just about everything, isn't it? I am more of a craftsperson, more wood, leather, and metal. But I grew up on gorgeous watercolor illustrations that remain some of my favorite artworks ever. So I've finally decided to give it a go.
