HUGE Snapping Turtles - Fighting or Mating!?

At first I assumed this was a violent territorial dispute between two males as it was the middle of the summer. However, I learned that common snapping turtles actually mate all the way from April through to November. Hopefully this wasn't a fight to the death that should have been broken up! I let them be in the hopes they were working towards expanding their turtle kingdom!

First clip were fighters. Second clip looked like mating. Ive seen alot of snappers mating but never that kind of fighting. Good filming!
