I thought the same thing, there's no where for them to escape the heat. Heat plus the water getting dirty could be a problem I'd think. The worst thing with turtles is they crap in the water which makes it so difficult to keep clean unless you have a large canister filter, and then that will still get clogged fast and require frequent sponge/ debris removal. Water changes are probably the best way to keep cleanish.
Did you cycle the water yet? Because the ammonia will spike up, and the fish would die, but I don’t know about the turtles, but you should cycle the water if you didn’t

I bought a kiddy pool for my Boston terrier that loved water. It cracked in less than a year. I hope it lasts until you build something sturdy
