How do you know how tight to tighten the long bolt?
Is there a way I could speak with you my 04 cbr600rr had a bad oem cct I replaced it for a manual one but I cannoy seem to adjust it properly Ive done nearly every reccomended procedure for adjusting it properly but I either have rattling noise, whirring noise, chain noise that seems like grinding but could be normal not sure cause Ive heard manual ones are a bit louder, or I just get a loss of torque overall.
Did u not have to bother with lining up the crank shaft? Like to get the TDC?
No, you don't need to, it doesn't affect timing. Chain still stays in place.
@@Erik740t okay sweet thanks for the timely reply!! Just so much contradicting info on the change/adjustment
@@mattbiehl5484 just don't bump it over or try and start it with tensioner out. It will jump timing then and ruin your engine.
@@mattbiehl5484 always is buddy. It's just from the same people that don't know what they are doing. Internet is flooded with it now days.
You have to go to TDC. Not doing so is a huge risk as the cams can jump time when the old tensioner is relaxed. You can get lucky and not have it jump but it is just that, luck. At TDC the valve springs do not have much mechanical advantage over the lobes to lever the cam out of time. Bottom line, do not play with fire.
did it stop the noise??
Yes
This part is head ache to install!!! & take out!!
Very tight squeeze. Be patient. You will get it.
Again i said this is a huge pain in the ass to get to.
Hey man could I send you a video of my F4 running as I want to know If it sounds healthy after installing a manuaal cct? I forgot what it sounded like before 🤣
Absolutely
Send me it. Was a mechanic for 12 years and still am.
Can you send it in email? Or post a video? I'll be able to tell you.

I'm leaning towards an exhaust leak since the noise fades when giving throttle
