    My 06 CBR600RR sounds fine at idle, but « sometimes » it’s rattle around 5K to 6k rpm, I think mostly when bike is colder. Is it the CCT ???

    • @SnowDrift
      @SnowDrift  5 лет назад +3

      Canada d’Alger Ok probably not, if it’s only happening when the bike is colder at higher RPM then most likely it is the valves, don’t rev it up when the bike is cold, odds are you just need a valve lash adjustment. Thanks for the comment.

    I just got an APE manual CCT for my FZ09. I turned the bike on and started tightening it. The rattle gone away at one point, and I could still turn the nut by hand a bit more (about 1/4th to 1/2 a turn). You think that's a good tension? I rode it for about 20 minutes and the CCT nut got too hot to touch (bike was at about 190°F). Is that a sign of it being too tight? Should I loosen it a little?
    I'm thinking to back off, and stop exactly at the point where the noise goes away.

    • @SnowDrift
      @SnowDrift  2 года назад

      If I remember correctly. You turn it in until the noise goes away and then a 1/4 turn. Mine gets hot too.

    I have a 2005 Honda double around three 4,000 RPMs at rattles like a can BB's or something.somebody told me if you're going to replace the CCT you might as well replace the guides also people are replacing the CCT but they're not replacing the plastic guides that go in there that hold the chain from slapping around also you can put acct on there and the bike will still do it you will be standing there frustrated because now you have to go back in there and redo it all over again but sometimes. The guides are no good or the chain has stretched from someone messing with it if you have a used bike from 2005...remember people always make it seem easier than what it is if you don't know what you're doing let a professional do it you will mess aroundand throw your timing off if you do that there goes the rods and everything else and you don't want that to happen at a buck o five. Or when you're running from the cops. Just to be safe out there replace all of it in there then you won't have to worry about it for quite awhile spend the extra money it works and it's worth it.

    • @SnowDrift

      Great question, it is not required but it is a good idea because, as you probably know, that is when the chain will have the most slack.

    • @SnowDrift
      @SnowDrift  5 лет назад +1

      If you don’t set it to top dead center then you can just set the cct in the position that the chain is in and start the bike up and adjust it further until the noise is no longer audible.

      @@thatonekidkeegan5097 ThatOneKidKeegan i know this is old But for anyone with the same question..if you're worried about starting because you're wondering if the chain skipped somehow, you can take the crankshaft inspection cover off on the right side of the bike and rotate it manually a good 2 full rotations. If it binds up don't start it...instead start drinking heavily then decide if you are ready to take apart the bike and take on the project or sell it. Don't rotate it without any tension on the chain

    Hi bro
    I have cbr1000rr 05
    The issue m facing is ofcourse the rattling noise at idle engine..beside this , in 1st gear i feel some vibration till 3000rpm.
    After crossing 3000rpm bikes gets super acceleration suddenly and gets super smooth too.
    After watching ur video and reading some other forums i have come to the conclusion that i will install manual cam tensioner on my bike.
    So would do u suggest is the vibration issue till 3000rpm force me to go for manual CCT replacement or there is some other issue m missing ??
    Snowdrift guide me 😁

    • @SnowDrift
      @SnowDrift  5 лет назад

      Yes i would definitely go for the manual CCT, the vibration however is strange, it could be as simple as a wheel weight, but if you are having less power untill 3000 rpms then the power comes on it sounds like you may have an exhaust leak, or a fowling plug, bad coil pack, bad fuel, clogged fuel tank breahter, dirty injector, it could be alot of things really. I would do some troubleshooting.

    • @itzbaconbruh8666
      @itzbaconbruh8666 11 месяцев назад

      @@phoenixinsky7909I would look into getting a dyno tune and deleted the secondary air system. That is the cause of the sudden power increase. The secondary air system moves a flap in the intake and allows more direct air in for more power. You will be deleting a few vacuum lines, 2 solenoids and installing 2 block off plates on the valve cover. This should get rid of that 3000rpm power jump.
