Banger 🔥 can’t wait to have our baby back, this will enhance safety and situational awareness tremendously and can’t thank the folks at Avidyne, Advanced Aviation and Dynon enough.
I am noticing while watching all these great videos that there are really decent, smart and good people involved within the aviation industry. Everybody you’re doing business with are top shelf smart people. Of course you better be smart if you’re dealing with/flying planes. Excellent job guys as usual.
Jeffrey and Christian I'm absolutely stoked guys!!!! I LOOOOVE this very much!! 😎 I loved the reaction when you thought that on Beechcraft was Owen and it wasn't and then saw his Beechcraft.
Wow guys! Y’all are outdoing yourselves and I’m confident no one is loving it more than yourselves. I bought a 1952 V-tail Bonanza and I’ve been wanting to redo the panel with the IFD 550, but now that I’ve seen your setup, I think I will have it done just like yours! Thank you so much for posting all these amazing and transformative videos of your Bonanza! ❤
Awesome to hear from another Bonanza Pilot owner. This setup is possible for any Bonanza so it could be a perfect match for your 1952. Keep me posted if you do it. Thanks for the kind words :)
Hey guys - I've just done a really similar update to my 1978 A36 here in Australia. Avionics, interior, tip tanks, a whole bunch of deferred airframe & mechanical maintenance and I put aircon in mine too. They are an amazing aircraft. Even when they're 40 years old, it's like buying the worst house in the best street and renovating. Love your work.
Sorry for the hijack on your post guys. Your plane looks amazing. clbrtv I would love to have a chat to you about that. I am looking at buying a 1970 A36, and an idea on what the upgrades will cost in Australia would be great.
Just started watching your YT videos,. I live outside of Phoenix, Falcon Field is one of my favorite local airports. Now you guys are at Palo Alto Airport where I was a fuel truck driver and did some student pilot training when I was much younger .... bringing up some old memories. Great stuff.
Wow, that is a beautiful panel. Recently game across JR Aviation and Fly With Owen and am a BIG fan. Awesome content and more importantly awesome airplanes. Fly safe guys!
"An hours worth of training" is an understatement. To be come IFR knob twisting, button punching proficient will take at least one hundred hours of serious learning to master the complete glass panels. Good luck, study hard.
Avidyne has come a really long way from being the kind of "Budget Avionics" company to a true Tier 1 competitor, if I remember correctly those Dynon screens are friendly to pilots wearing polarized sunglasses which a lot of us do wear, not all screens are friendly with polarized glasses (its about the polarizer orientation).
Great upgrade makes it look so much more modern and definitely makes the pilots work load a ton less. Great idea should do it to the plane you arrived in!
As a non-pilot, whom knows absolutely nothing about planes, or flying, I binge watch more aviation channels like this one than I can even keep track of. It's just really interesting even though I literally have no understanding of any of the jargon these guys use. Might as well be speaking latin 😂
First class all the way, nice😀While you are at it, get rid of that ancient old strobe the size of a watermelon on the fuselage and replace with a new LED ! Your Bonanza makes Guthmillers look like the 1947 prototype, congratulations👍
until electrical issues pop up after a lightning strike, alternator issues, ect. I would still keep the basic’s (six pack) in the panel and know how to read those steam gauges. Small aircraft just don’t have the backup electrical systems to support the full glass panel, with no sort of redundant (steam gauge) system to back it up.
@@Aphxphotog lightning stuck Cirrus - G1000 worked. The g1000 and other glass avionics are highly redundant - multiple computers powering the same things
@@Thetheobaudry That’s one. Theo. One. As you finally stated, after your attempt to insult, and shows you are the type of person that makes the internet the cesspool that it is... You do you. I know, big words hurt, sometimes. I bet you’re like the guys on this channel, full of money and not much else. BTW, I fly a 210 and have 3800+hrs. How about you, Skippy?
Get a Door Steward. Worth it's weight in gold if you don't have A/C. When you're flying solo you can leave the door open during taxi, etc. for great ventilation. The Avidyne IFD's are GREAT.
I've got an H model that I'd LOVE to add tip tanks to (new avionics would be nice too, but tip tanks would let me complete a flight non-stop AND look great).ok back to the show
Re: tip tanks, Years ago my father had tip tanks put on his boss’s Aztec. But they weren’t pods like I see on Bonanzas and others. They were extensions on the wings with the underside of the tip tanks concave. So it was almost as if they were invisible tip tanks. I don’t remember where he had them done; it was around 1975. Gave him an extra 30 minutes of flying.
JR aviation after every thing that has been done and I give you what I think about the new update Glass Panel well I’m very excited to seeing this after it’s installed so let Ownen know he will think he’s flying the Gulfstream
You guys have this sweet airplane but only one pilot who flies it, i have to ask how come? I think i would want to be behind the controls if it was mine.
And please, put tip tanks on 62JR. I mean the Bonanza obviously is a beautiful aircraft by itself already but with tip tanks it just looks even so much better.
@@JRAviation hey I don’t mean to be throwing any shade at you, I love y’all’s channel! We’d all love to see y’all get licensed up and be able to use your toys!
Hey Guys! Great upgrade! Could you please let me know how is called that company in Van Nuys that refurbishes toggle key panels? Thanks a lot for your help! Keep flying!
Actually, we had to go with a company in Florida to get it done in time, I don’t have their name on end, stay tuned for the reveal video maybe we’ll mention it.

Curious if you would do all the upgrades in a different order if you were to do it again. Maybe panel 1st, tip tanks, then paint, then interior. (I know you probably had to go with when people could fit you in.) Not sure why you would go with TN on the engine as you already have one on the other Bo. I have to believe this is a high time air frame given its previous owner. Any issues found during all this work? Can you give us a ball park price on your original purchase price and each upgrade? Just curious if this would be practical for someone who is not generating $ from subscribers / adverts. Keep up the good work, very interesting.
Just a quick question, why are you putting both PFD's on the same side and not splitting the PFD's on each side so the right seat can have access to it in case of emergency? Not a pilot so any info would be appreciated. Great video.
Cost - the Dynon upgrade is ±half that of Garmin and unless something has changed since I last looked, the Garmin G1000 NXi is not certified for Bonanzas older than the G36.
So what do you all think of the new panel??
It’s alright .
Fantastic!
Awesome
