No it's not. I've not found an action camera in this price range that had good doing quality yet. Actually, I take that back, the Dragon Touch vision 4 comes with an external microphone and it didn't sound that bad. It's not perfect but way better that the vision 3 and good enough to use in videos. Again, I would recommend using like the Zoom H1n and your favorite cheap lapel mic, but if Vision 4 and the external mic they give you will work. That camera if only about $10.00 more than the Vision 3 too, so it's worth getting over the one in this video. Not sure what you mean by loop.. If you mean for using it as a car video camera, than it all depends on how big an SD card you put into it. It will use all the space up and then record back over itself. This would make a good car video camera.
Hey David I was wondering with that camera will the camera power up without the memory card and if so you can view on phone or tablet does that mean you can save on other devices without memory card?
You can power it up without a memory card but if you try to use the camera you get a notification telling you the memory card is missing, to put in the memory card before recording. So it only works via a memory card. There is Bluetooth on the new version but it's only to work the remote controller. DragonTouch just released another device that's about $75.00 that has inmage stabilization and wifi. As soon as I can afford to pick one up I will test it. For right now the Akaso V50 Pro is the camera I would recommend to everyone who needs GoPro like features but are stuck on cheaper action camera budgets.

Also for an app on Android and ipad, I use "iSmart DV" which is compatible with a wide range of these cheaper cams but still a decent interface.
this cam does not have good audio, but that's expected. It sounds like they use a mobile phone microphone component. Buzzy distortion. Un-listenable. So yes, even for any application you'd have to record separate audio and edit together in post production.
I would have to agree with you on that. I would record the audio separately and dub it in later.
Thank you so much I just got this caerma I used to do geoaching until my youtube got banned cause of playing music from twitch and had no idea I had dmcas, but hye thanks again

Hopefully you bet back up and making videos soon. Make a new channel. Yes, RUclips sucks with all the regulations they are apposing on us.
Hey David,
Thank you for sharing each and every detail of the Camera. Loved it when you went back and forth between 4K/30FPS and 1080P/60FPS in your demo. That was really helpful. I do agree that the mic of the camera is a downside, but nonetheless, I am considering to make this small investment to get into the vlogging/travel space. Thanks again, from India.
PS: Also, hope your health has improved. :)
Thank you and for right now, I am still mostly numb on my right side. I'm hoping that I can get at least some of that back.
Hi David, I just got my DragonTouch 4K. I have a micro 256 sd card, but it won't recognize the card. any help to fix it
Yes, don't use anything bigger than a 64Gb card. What they tell you in their description and what works in practical life is totally different. That's what I used in the video and right now in it and it's working fine. 64Gb... Hope that helps. Thank you for watching.
@@HayesTech I got the class 10 micro sd card, and the dragon touch 4k still won't recognize it.
@@smoke-kesbbq1260 then there is something wrong with the card. I use Sandisk only. It's in my opinion, the best of the best. But any card should work, as long as it's a class 6 or higher, so I would say that something is wrong with the camera now.
@@HayesTech So i got a sands Class 10 sd card. plugged it in the right way and still won't accept the card. says there isn't enough memory space in the card. I am returning the two camera and sd cards back to amazon
Hi dave great video, have you found anyway to sharpen the audio a little, just asking. I just got the dtv3, good video but sound is blah. Thank you.
from a reply a made, since it may help you:
The microphone thing is not such a big deal anymore these days. Better to get something like a handheld Zoom audio recorder anyway and use a lavalier microphone clipped with a windscreen on it. Even just one of the inexpensive "note taking" recorders would give you good audio with a lavalier - just make sure it has a mic input. This lets you film yourself without have a cord stretched across to a camera (removing all distance limitations), and a lavalier mic clipped in your shirt will beat even an expensive camera's microphone at a distance away from you. I picked up a refurbished Zoom recorder and even the cheapest lavalier mic on Amazon works great with it to record my voice.
Most all editing packages make it crazy easy now to automatically sync audio from a completely external source by just doing a couple hand claps at the start that get captured by the camera mic, AND your portable recorder. You literally just import both the video and audio and click a single button to invoke the automatic sync and line things up. I'm using Videostudio 2019, but even Videostudio X9, which I upgraded to it from after seeing all the new features that I would pick up from the newer versions of X10, then 2018 and finally the 2019 release. And you can get X9 from under $20 now which has multicam support and automatic syncing...
p.s., buying the "old" X9 is the BEST way to get VideoStudio 2019. After you install it, it will give you an offer to upgrade it to 2019 for $34.99, so all in all, you'll just end up paying under $55 to get a completely up to date VideoStudio 2019 with all its bells and whistles. Good program at a great price. I watched all the "what's new" videos for the three newer releases and just kept track of what features would benefit me, and after watching all three it was a no brainer to upgrade for all that it would offer...
Saludos desde México me gustó el video y pues me ayudó a saber que es lo que contiene y la definición que tiene mi Dragon touch visión 3 que acabo de comprar
Thank you so much for the awesome comment. I had to translate it, as I don't speak much Spanish, but that's just fine. I plan on visiting Mexico some day too. The only place I was ever in, in Mexico, was Tijuana jn the 80's (when I was in the Navy). But some day I plan on visiting again. You have a very beautiful country.
Only if everything was as straight to the point and simple as your videos, your video is 5/5 stars. Great work!
Thank you so much for your very nice comment. You have no clue how much comments like this make my day. It's my birthday today and as I was going through my emails, I was very happy to read your comment. Thank you again. And be sure to check out my reviews on other action cameras. I will also be reviewing more, as I can afford to get them, since I don't take sample cameras. I like to purchase them and get what everything eles gets.
@@HayesTech Anytime man! Keep doing what you do : )
i hope you are well :-) ... with accessories like tripod and other extensions do i need to buy a specific brand or will any do from amazon... thanks
Any tripod should work just fine. There if a screw hole on the bottom of the camera that should accommodate any tripod using 1/4" threads (which is the standard dimension).
Good luck to you and thank you for watching and for commenting.
@@HayesTech Thanks David I just received the camera as a gift earlier today so I thought I would use it to its full potential thanks for the quick response :-)
So if you card is over 64GB it won’t except it?
It should accept it, but it will only show the highest amount that the camera accepts. So if you have a 128Gb card and put it in it will show that you have only 64Gb.
I ordered this for my race quad
Awesome... Let me know how you like it. I still love the video quality i get out of mine. I just have to record audio separately (if I want the audio on a more professional level). Then some day if you're funds increase a big you can look into getting the Akaso V50 Pro. You will really like that one too. Good luck with your quad and be careful.
@@HayesTech love it its lightweight good video quality (the remote works haha) im going order one more because what u get for the price is amazing
@@relentless4g63t it is, in my humble opinion, the best action camera in this price range. I've tried several others at around $45.00 and under and I wouldn't even give them video time because of how bad they were. I was, and still am, very surprised at how much camera you get with @$45.00... I just reviewed the $50.00 DragonTouch Vision 4 and found it to be equally as good, with inmage stabilization... You should check out that video too. Oh and did I mention that it comes with an external microphone... Because it does.. And on this one the external mic actually sounds great.
hey could you buy a mic from amazon and put it on the go pro
You cannot, amazon reviews state it doesn't support external mics.
Hi David, have you reviewed any other action cameras like Campark X20, or Crosstour Ct9100 ? Like your review on Dragon Touch.
I've reviewed several. The ThiEye, Akaso V50 Pro and one other, that I can't remember right now. All are on my channel. Thank you so much for watching and for posting. I'll be doing more videos on various action cameras, as soon as I get the money too.
So the sound isn’t very good
No it's not.
Now for about $125.00 the Akaso V50 Pro has some of the best audio for a cheap action camera, in you can afford that much, go to that camera.
I hope this helps. And don't forget to get in on my huge giveaway. The link is pinned in the comments section.
Great review...IAM actually receiving this camera tomorrow..I wish I watched this before I purchased..I was wanting to use this as a vlog,an for pictures..I was think that the 1080. 60 fps def looked the best...do you think I CLD just use the 60fps all the time?
Excellent review! What is the longest loop recording, will it do 10 minute loops? thanks
Man, that mic isn't recording very well
Yes, the mic on this action camera isn't the best. It's really it's only downfall.
@@HayesTech yeah I just now purchased this myself.. it came today actually like an hour ago lol.. but yeah.. I'm mostly going to he using it for fishing on my kayak and stuff like that.. hopefully it will pick up the sound not too bad.. that's the only thing I'm really worried about.. I bought a 64gb card for it.. that should be enough for now right? Anyways.. thanks for responding
@@GreenTea4101
I recommend using your phone and a microphone to record audio, especially if you have it in it's water proof case. Or you can even pick up a cheap audio recorder you can keep in you pocket while recording video. You will have to sync the audio with your video in post though, but if I can do it, anyone can. Good luck to you and your videos.
what do i use when i’m swimming underwater and is the remote waterproof
You need to use the water proof housing to put the camera into, before submerging it into any water. The remote does not work under water either. You will have to physically push the record button. All camera control buttons are accessable through the water proof housing too.
I hope that helped and don't forget to get in on my largest giveaway too. There is still time and link is pinned here in the comments section
Also, audio is going to sound terrible, in the case and under water.
David Hayes okay thanks, also does it come with a headband thing to put around your head underwater
@@maddie3113
No. But it does come with many attachment pieces and like 4 or more Velcro strips. I'm sure you can do something with what you get in the box, to be able to mount it to your forehead.
David Hayes okay, thank you so much
Hey bro it was a cool review except u didn't show the video quality in first person with the camera moving, we'r still have no idea if image stabilization is needed for whatever the cameras for
The DragonTouch vision 3 has no image stabilization and the DragonTouch vision 4 does. And it works.
Sorry the review wasn't what you wanted, I was asked by many of my subs if this would make a good Vlogging camera and that's how I based the review on.
Thank you for watching and for commenting, it's much appreciated.

Good video but I believe that the extra back cover is also water proof
It is not it has two big open slots on the extra cover.

This was a great help, thanks!
You are very welcome and thank you for watching the video.

HEY that's the one i have, not too bad , the stabilization not too good but for the price its a good one.
You should check out the vision 4. It's about $10.00 more but has image stabilization and an external microphone. If this is all you can afford, it's well worth it.

I bought a Dragon Touch camera on Amazon about 2 months ago. It sucked really bad. I won't bore you with the details just read my review on Amazon. It's the review that complains about Dragon Touch harassing me for days with a bombardment of emails, trying to get me to delete my negative review. They're a bunch of clowns and their products break down and are NOT reliable.

@@vsetkoumiera7683 thank you. I really do appreciate it.
I did everything the directions said to sync it to my phone, but I can’t get it to work. Do you need to use Bluetooth?
Yes, you need to use Bluetooth. The app for this camera is not the best, I will agree with that. Just keep trying and it will eventually connect. I ha a to install and uninstall the app like 3 times still I finally got it to work.
