I can't say, for you and your needs, which resolution to shoot in. I like 4k because you can still upload it to 1080p and still get all the high quality from the 4k.
But yes, 4ky uses way more battery than 1080p. So if battery usage is important than I would shoot in 1080p.
As for fields of view, again this is something that you will have to decide, because it is a more personal thing. Everybody shoots their videos differently. If you want to get the most of what's around you, then I would shoot in the widest field of view. If you want to focus more on you and what you are doing, then I would use it to narrow field of view.
You can always shoot in the widest field of view and then edit it later, and cut into it. But again that's something you'll have to decide.
I wish you the best of luck, and would also like to mention that dragon touch makes another camera called the Vision 4 which actually has image stabilization built into it. And that camera is only about $10 more than the Vision 3.

Do you know how to turn the initial music sound off when turning on? I went to sound and turned it off and the clicks when I scroll don't make noise anymore but I still get that little music noise at the beginning. Thank you!!

I see this Dragon Touch 4K cam and the Akaso EK7000 4K Ultra for under $50; which one you think is better or are they basically the same?
I would say they are basically the same. I would go for the one with the most add ons. Make sure it shoots in 4k and that it had a 16mp Sony sensor. But yes, they are probably about the same.

Do you know how to get rid of the fish-eye effect? The bulbing distortion won't work for my needs on this. I hope there's a way to adjust it....
Thank you for the post and for watching my video. As for getting rid of the fish-eye effect you get, it's not possible to do with this camera. The only ones I am aware of that allow for changing the camera perspective is the Go-Pro and maybe the Yi Pro. My Go-Pro Hero 5 Black allows for linear and narrow field of view in 1080p 60/fps. In 4k It only allows for supper view (extra wide view) and regular wide view. So, if you have to have a narrow field of view, and can't afford a brand new Go-Pro, I would highly recommend getting a used one. I picked mine up for like $175.00 on eBay. Get the Black though and not the White or the Silver because they limit you to just a couple different settings.
The other thing I wanted to mention was it all depends on how big a memory card you use as to how long it will record before it loops around and records over itself. I use a 64GB card in mine and that works great for me.. Now I don't use it for a dedicated camera for the car but 64GB should last some time if your video quality is set to no more than 1080p.

Thanks for taking the time to produce these videos David. With regard to this camera does it auto-rotate when filming? By that I mean I understand that if you hold it upright you’ll film what you see but if you put it on a “stick” to film underwater the camera will be oriented upside down and record accordingly ... unless it somehow corrects itself. Thanks in advance.
I always pivot the camera back (using the adjustable fasteners) i though I showed that in the video (I may not have though). Yes, just loosen the adjuster screw, pivot the camera backwards and go to town.
I don't really know much about tech, I'm an outdoorsman and I bought this camera for fishing. Which setting should I keep it on while filming? Does the higher res kill the battery sooner? Mine is arriving today.
I would keep it on the settings that it comes with as far as color tones and stuff like that. Recording in 4K as opposed to 1080p, definitely eats more battery than 1080p. But I always shoot in 4K because I just like the quality of the video.
It's too bad you couldn't have went another $10 and got the vision 4 instead of division 3, the vision 4 actually has image stabilization built into it and it's only like $10 more.
A little murky under the water but I guess that depends on what Lake you're using it in, other than that it's not a bad camera, for the type of camera it is.

If the water was not so muddy from the rain we had it would look way better. The image quality is actually very good under water. Look at the leaves and the wall, you can actually see water snails very clearly...lol... I will revisit this once I find a better location to video in.

Yes it is. But you should try the Vision 4. It's the latest offering from Dragon Touch and is only about $10.00 more than the Vision 3. The image stabilization if worth the extra $10.00 and it comes with an external lapel mic. I did a review on that one too.
2:40 The audio doesnt sound that bad for a very windy situation. Were you using a microphone with a wind guard or shielding the built in mike with your hand etc.?
Yep. Now it wasn't the furry one but was a sponge one. The furry one would have knocked the wind down a little better
Thanks for the video. I purchased one of these not knowing it did not have image stabilization. So for something labeled action cam with image stabilization makes the experience dizzying to me. I would not purchase another action cam without good image stabilization.
Yes, this one has no stabilization but the Vision 4 does. I reviewed that one too and for about $10.00 more, about $55.00, you get that image stabilization. You might want to check that one out.
can you give me some advice? do you know how to make the camera stop recording? when i trun the camera on it said it has been recording for 20 hours i need help. thanks.
Well, it shouldn't be doing that. Mine doesn't. Go into settings and make sure you don't have it set to use as a car dash cam. Other than that I don't know why it would be recording like that. I actually have my Vision 3 away and my Vision 4 had a touch screen and a different settings view. But I would check to make sure it's not set to dashcam mode.
That's a weird one as mine didn't do that. My guess is you have it in dashcam mode. This camera will not record for that amount of time in regular video recorder mode. Other than that, I am clueless. There is no reason it should be recording on it's own and for that long. In the dashcam mode it will record for as long as it has battery power, so thats what makes me think it is in dashcam mode.

Hey I got one. My question is can you keep this camera on, The on/standby mode, ready take picture or Video?
I'm pretty sure that in the settings there is a setting for the camera too auto shut down and you can shut that off or set it too "never'..

It could but I highly recommend your phone over this for you main RUclips camera. Adding an external mic is much easier and most phones have image stabilization but in now.
Can it do a better job for making my outdoor dance video?
I don't know? I've not seen that video yet and don't know what you planned on using other than this camera. If you are planning on doing a music video, and want it to look professional, I would probably go with the Akaso V50 Pro. It has way better video quality, with image stabilization. In a pinch though, if all you can afford is @ $40.00 then it would work but I highly recommend going with the $120.00 Akaso V50 Pro over this action camera. Good luck to you and your music video. Can u advice me on how to switch the WiFi on the cam so I can connect it to my phone please.
I really wish I could but I gave the vision 3 to my granddaughter and no longer have it for referencing. Make sure your phone is not connected to your regular WiFi first, then, after turning on the wifi in the camera, look for it in your phone and connect. There really isn't anything more to it.
A lot of these devices needs to have an app to help with this too, but if I remember correctly, this one doesn't. I wish I could help you more but since I no longer have the camera I can't go into the settings or try to connect myself to be able to go over the connection instructions with you.

I'm not sure. I don't do loop recording since I have dedicated car video recorder. But I do believe the size of the memory card you use makes a major difference
is it possible to stick it on a motorcycle helmet or do i have to buy some extra equipment?
Yes, it comes with all the things for you to stick it to your helmet. It comes with a ton of extras

I haven't h had the chance to try that one so I can say for sure. I love the Dragon Touch though. I am testing the Akaso V50 and doing a video on that right now xx but when I'm done with it, I'll be giving my Dragon Touch away. So be looking for that video.
I use this camera 1080 is ok but not massively sharp I tried the 4 k and it is really bad

do you know how long a battery will lasr recording video?
Well, that's a hard one to answer because it depends on a few factors. Your battery will last less if recording in 4k than it would in 1080p it even 720p. But for the most part, I would say t a fully charged battery, recording in 4k, should last about 30 to 45 minute. I hope that helps and I'm sorry I never thought to test that.

Yes it comes with a remote that allows you to start recording and stop at well as take pictures.
It does have a slot for micro SD card, up to 64Gb.

That's a cheap selfi stick that came with one of my other cheap tripods. Seriously, it's just an Amazon selfi stick and ran about $8.00. I didn't want to ruin any of my good tripods...lol. Thank you so much for watching and for commenting.
Why the camera is shaking so much? Does this have any EIS?
Because I went through a stroke. I had another one just last year, leaving me paralyzed on my right side. But no, this camera has no image stabilization. The Image 4 does though and it's only about $10.00 more.

So no image stabilization?
No, this camera has no stabilization. Not for this price. I highly recommend saving up and getting a used Go-Pro Hero 5 Black for image stabilization. I consider the Go-Pro 5 and higher to be the best. You can get used Hero 5 Blacks for a little over a hundred bucks.

No, at least the one i have doesn't have it. Now they make a camera that's a step up from this one and is about $90.00 that had stabilization. But this one, running about $40.00 to $50.00 head no image stabilization. I just put out a video for the GoPro Hero 7 Black and showed video footage from the Hero 5 black, Hero 7 Black this camera, and you can see that to there is no image stabilization. But the image quality is amazing and I think you will be impressed at just how goes it it's. I recommend watching that video too.

Well you can't take a mobile phone under water. But if I had to pick the best video quality between my Google Pixel 2xl and this action camera, I would have to go with my phone. But for a $40.00 US action camera, it's well worth what they are asking. And, if yo it break it, or damage it, your out what you paid for the camera but do the same to your phone and your out a camera and your phone. That's the way I looked at it when doing this review.
I am almost done with an unboxing and first thoughts video on the Akaso V50 and will be uploading that video tomorrow so if your interested in a cheaper alternative to the GoPro but still have most, if not all, of GoPro's features, I recommend watching that video too

Good video. Did you ever get the remote to work?
As a matter of fact, yes I did. I found out, like All the other action cameras that I reviewed, the remote does nothing more than start and stop the video and snap pictures. But even doing this is a help and works great. It would be great if they would allow for more control than just snapping pics and starting and stopping recording.

I'm not sure about still mode. I do not use that function in any of my action cameras. So I can't answer for a setting that I don't use and am not used to. Sorry about that.

Yes but it's not my personal favorite now. It was my first, paid, application for working on videos. The program I use the most is VideoPad and second is Shotcut. Then, if I need to color grade, for some reason, I'll use Resolve. It works the best for color grading, in my humble opinion.

Yes it does. Now, are they as good as a DSLR, or even a decent cell phone these days, no. But, in a pinch, it will take serviceable pictures. For under $50.00 it's still a worthy action camera.
But if you can afford to go up to $50.00 then the Action Touch Vision 4 (a step up) has image stabilization and a very good, included, external microphone and image stabilization.
And if you can go up to about $110.00 the Akaso V50 Pro is in par with action cameras costing 2 to 3 times more.

Why it's so shaky
Because the vision 3 doesn't have image stability. That's what you get for about $45.00. if you spend about $10.00 more, for the Vision 4, it has image stabilization that works.

Good luck to you. I'll subscribe to your channel. It took me years to get to where I'm at now. Apparently I'm not in the click with the big name RUclips channels because I have to fight and claw my way for each and every sub. But you know, I've realized that I do this as a way to keep me busy, now that I can't work, and how many subs I have just doesn't bother me any more.

That's what you get with an action camera. Wether it's a GoPro or this $45 action camera in it's widest view. I can't please everyone with my videos but thank you for posting. I do appreciate it.
The DragonTouch Vision 4, on the other hand, has image stabilization for just $10.00 more.
Also, if you use a more narrow view, the fisheye effect is much less pronounced, to all but gone.

Not sure why you can't upload your footage. Upload to RUclips? I use a video editor first but I don't see why you couldn't upload it without editing. So I'm not sure how to help.

LMFAO... I completely agree with you and U personally would never go in that water. But it's what I had at the time to do this video. I wish I owned a pool for testing tech like this but I'm left with what I have available to me and that, unfortunately, if the nasty Bake Eagle Creek and Susquehanna River.

The quality very bad
It's a cheap Go-Pro knockoff. It's not going to be high quality. But, as far as the camera lenses and 1080p video quality goes, it's pretty darn good for what they want for this camera. If you use 1080p, the cameras narrowest field of view and an audio recorder ( like your cell phone) you can actually get pretty good video footage.
You have to remember, this only costs about $45.00.

Yeah, it's not a GoPro or even an Akaso. It's a $40.00 action camera. And the water I tested it in want the best choice either. The test I did on the new, upgraded version of this action camera was done in clear Creek water and it looks 100 times better.

That's because this is the Vision 3 and costs less than $45.00 today. Spend about $10.00 more for the Vision 4 and you get image stabilization (see my video on that camera).
As for image quality alone this camera works and looks decent for it's price. I can't please everyone with my videos either, but I try the best I can.
