    You can apply vinyl wet or dry. Most carbon fiber can be installed dry but others need to be applied wet using Rapid Tac spray. You spray it all over the surface you wish to wrap and the adhesive on the vinyl. Squeegee the vinyl onto the surface and post heat the entire vinyl with a heat gun to help speed up the drying process. Rapid tac can dry in 90 seconds or faster if it's hot outside.

    phil im pretty sure vinyl wrap is supposed to be applied dry, not like ppf where you use the slip solution and then stick solution, that could be why you are having the issue with it adhering? just a thought, looks pretty good

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  5 лет назад +6

      I thought so too...but it would have been a nightmare trying to apply dry. It was really sticky. I put way to much soap in the solution 🤦🏻‍♂️ I realized.

      @@MirandaDetailing yea when I do decals at work I always do them wet but for auto vinyl wrap I always do dry. Just did the tank on my motorcycle in carbon fiber dry. • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  4 года назад

      Well I guess it all depends on what type of vinyl and what your applying it too. I couldn’t see how applying it dry on to this metal cart would have worked. It would have tons of bubbles and creases that I wouldn’t be able to work out unless I applied it wet. Have you ever tried to apply vinyl dry on a surface like this before? Oh ok. I figured that. So what did you clean it with? Clean painted metal creates friction without some sort of polymer on it. I’ve tried it. It couldn’t slide my hand with it causing friction which is the squeaking sound. Also how can one install it by themselves?

    My dude you ruined the wrap as soon as you drenched it idk what kind of research you did bashing a product that you ruined so blame it on the product

      What do you mean? It didn’t ruin anything, it’s still on my workbench to this day. It’s just one method of doing things.

    You are going to screw up you own channels with all the advert you do ,I would not buy a product that you are paid to permote end off

      If you’re talking about the in video RUclips ads, then you need to do some research....I have no control over those. Those are from RUclips joy me. I also don’t get paid to advertise any products. Companies send me products and I tell them I only will show and use the products that I like and that actually work for me. Be careful of accusations like that. You have no idea how we actually run our detailing business. Detailing is our main business. RUclips is a side thing that we do. Also if there are products that I already use and love and the company of said product wants me to pay me to show it more often, that’s the only time I’ll charge THEM to show it more. It’s not a paid review or promotion, it’s my prerogative to charge them for my time. There is a huge difference. But if people don’t understand that, shame on them for accusing and for their ignorance. Our channel has been successful because of exactly what we are doing and will continue to do. For anyone to challenge that or accuse us of anything is treading on our right to choose what we do to benefit ourselves and others.

      @@MirandaDetailing well stated Phil. So I'm trying to find a follow up on the carbon fiber vinyl lid wrap. I have a huge roll and for the same reason as you would like to do some services. So how long did it last was it resilient or was it a fail I thought maybe I'd find it in the comments I got this far read your reply to this idiot and chose this as a spot to stick my question we'll see if you reply.

      Hi. Thanks. Actually I still have it this day on that cart. It hasn’t peeled off. The only thing that has happened is I have banged it up against things and a few edges have wrinkled up from that, but otherwise it’s in tact and holding up well. It was a great idea to protect it.

      @@MirandaDetailing that's excellent! I probably have the same carbon fiber wrap that you used that I purchased off of eBay my motorcycle. I got a new fridge here in my shop and wanted to do the same thing protect it after I left this message for you I saw that something got set on top of it that ate a little piece of paint off the size of a coin so unfortunately it's not going to be protected in perfect underneath but it'll be protected and look good anyway I don't know if it'll ever matter to me what's underneath. Like your videos appreciate your past reply enjoy what's left of your week.
