    Love the technical videos.. learning the way water flows over objects is so crucial.. that front section of the console was a super technical dip and you made it look easy.. i find myself sometimes doing a dry run with complicated objects to find the best flow...i like your videos because it's all real time, I could see you thinking it through before the commitment and then just going for it..would love to see a technical video of your rinsing process both in the machine and by hand from dip to rinse... Nice Job. 1 minute in the water. Why? and how long after the dip intil you can clean the parts and how do you clean it?

    • @LiquidConceptsUSA
      @LiquidConceptsUSA  5 лет назад

      You want the film to sit on the water for 1 minute to allow the film to start to break down so it can be stretched correctly and not break away or tear when trying to dip. After you dip the part, you can rinse it right afterwards or you can wait a few hours, it wont hurt it either way.

      Going from the dipped portion to the clear coat we do NOT sand the part at all. After the part is clear coated we may wet-sand (or dry sand) the part and either buff out any spots we may have or re-clear the part if needed.

    • @LiquidConceptsUSA

      Yes its possible but you will have to smooth out the outside before the dip or the carbon wont look that great and you will have a rough clear coat finish if its not sanded smooth.

    Great explanation, How often is the water changed, and what is the activator and how does it work?

    • @LiquidConceptsUSA
      @LiquidConceptsUSA  3 года назад

      Changing the water versus depending on how often you are dipping. We typically change ours every 3-4 weeks but sometimes we push it a little longer. The activator is use to liquify the film so that you can then dip it and it embeds itself into the paint.

    • @LiquidConceptsUSA
      @LiquidConceptsUSA  5 лет назад

      I am sorry but this does not give it "extra strength" This will of course help it be stronger but only minimally stronger as it will have a strong coating on it but it will not be structurally stronger like carbon fiber will make it. @@unorthodox2009 That is quite low for a DIY tank but it can certainly be done! You may try looking into the plastic totes or something like that to try to keep within that budget. You can always upgrade in the future if everything goes right but using the best quality supplies (paint, primer, clear coat, etc.) is more important than the tank for sure!

    The sticky side goes down really? Do you lacquer it afterwards with a clear coat?

    • @LiquidConceptsUSA
      @LiquidConceptsUSA  Год назад +1

      Yes the sticky side of the print goes down on the water. After it is dipped, dried, and touched up we apply and automotive clear coat for protection.

    great video , but why not just use vinyl wrap?

    • @LiquidConceptsUSA
      @LiquidConceptsUSA  4 года назад +1

      A vinyl wrap would not stretch into the areas that the hydrographics would as well as a wrap is temporary and the hydrographics is permanent.

      For this exact job it was around $450 total. This was to smooth out all the texture in the parts and dip them in carbon fiber.

    hello, I am French and I would like to make some interior parts of my car ... my questions:
    what water temperature?
    and which side should be in water, mat or shiny?
    thank you very much for your answers and great video 👍👍
    Google translation 😁😇

    • @LiquidConceptsUSA
      @LiquidConceptsUSA  4 года назад

      Water temperature is 80-90 degrees F. and the side that sticks to your finger (when your fingers are wet) goes down on the water. Its NEVER shiny or matte side up or down.

    • @LiquidConceptsUSA

      Ours was a pretty decent price as we are the ones that manufactured it so I got it at a great price! There is quite a few used ones on the market as well as some cheaper fiberglass and aluminum tanks that other people make.

      It is recycled through the tank and around every month or two, it is drained and refilled.

    Hello there my friend i was wondering if i can do that with the carbon fiber wrap i got at the house that i bought from allibab .My question is what is that stuff your spraying on the wrap .Can i spray it on my wrap

    • @LiquidConceptsUSA
      @LiquidConceptsUSA  Год назад

      The chemical I am spraying is designed specifically for the hydrodipping process. It liquifies the print to confirm. It however will not work on wrap material.

    Question, ones you hydro dip, do you clean the part with just water? Right away?

    • @LiquidConceptsUSA

      Yes you rinse the part off with water. You can rinse right away or even wait a few minutes. It wont hurt anything.

    Watched a recent video on hydro-dipping and it mentions over activating the film? (also under activating) is this true, you can actually apply too much activator? would there be a way to tell? you say it looks glassed out in the video, is that one way to tell by the surface appearance. Sorry just setting up and looking for advice!
